Xia Lulu had just lost control of her emotions, if only for a moment.
Had this been in the past, she would have dismissed Raymond’s words outright, even mocking him as nothing more than a clown.
But the truth was, Raymond had indeed struck at her deepest wound.
In fact, she understood all too clearly the attitude the dragon race held toward her.
Her ascension to power had never truly been legitimate.
If back then, she had challenged Frey openly and honorably, according to the ways of the dragon race, and triumphed through her own strength, far fewer would have resisted her rule.
Yet she had not chosen that path. Instead, she resorted to schemes and manipulation to eliminate Frey.
She had used the late Emperor Gekar’s decree as a pretext, falsely claiming their father was on his deathbed, luring her older brother back, only to ambush and kill him within the Dragon Palace.
This act stirred immense dissatisfaction, and at the time, countless dragons rose in rebellion against her.
Although she forcibly awakened her Dragon King’s Heart through Dorothea, gaining overwhelming power and crushing all resistance…
She knew in her heart that those people had merely submitted out of fear of her strength.
The moment she relinquished that power, the backlash would come crashing down upon her.
There was no path of retreat for Xia Lulu as Dragon King, only destruction awaited her in the end.
This was a fate that could not be changed.
However, for the sake of making things easier for Xia Yi in the future, she had to seize the time she still had to eliminate all internal threats within the Dragon Kingdom.
“The Blizzard Domain… disengage.”
Xia Lulu withdrew her domain. The howling winds receded from around her, the snowfall ceased, and sunlight once again broke through the skies.
The death squad under Raymond’s command, still bound by chains, saw his gruesome end, his body pierced through by a colossal pillar of ice, nailed to the ground, dragon blood spilled across the earth.
“Wasn’t Lord Raymond invincible…? How could he… die?”
“Ah, ah!! The one standing there… it’s the Silver Dragon Queen!!”
“The Silver Dragon Queen killed Lord Raymond!!”
The only reason these soldiers had been willing to lay down their lives was because Raymond lived.
Now that he was dead, they had lost the very core of their loyalty, like a world collapsing without its pillar.
Moreover, the sheer overwhelming strength Xia Lulu had displayed plunged the rebels into utter despair.
The icy chains still bound them, unable to move, they understood all too well that the silver dragon before them was an invincible foe, defying her meant certain death.
“Your Majesty, please, please spare us!!”
Some among the rebels broke down first, their minds collapsing as they begged for mercy.
Once that crack appeared, others followed in a rush, pleading for forgiveness.
“Your Majesty, Raymond is dead, we have no reason to fight for him anymore!”
“Yes, Your Majesty! We were merely tools being used, please show us mercy…!!”
Xia Lulu did not respond immediately.
“Your Majesty.”
A cool, composed voice called out. A red dragon maid stood not far away, bowing respectfully.
“Lucia?” Xia Lulu asked.
“Yes, Your Majesty. I have brought reinforcements as ordered. I had intended to assist in the defense of the Fero Province, but it seems the battle has already concluded. I arrived too late, please punish me,” Lucia explained.
Xia Lulu glanced back, seeing Lucia and the arriving dragon troops.
She had indeed ordered reinforcements earlier. At first, she had not intended to intervene personally.
But upon realizing the rebel leader was Raymond, and that he had personally led the campaign, she chose to step in directly.
And thus, things had ended as they did.
“Her Majesty is… terrifying.”
“She defeated Raymond alone… and he was once a war general renowned across the land.”
“I wonder how Her Majesty will deal with those rebels?”
The dragon soldiers spoke in hushed awe, filled with admiration.
“… ”
Xia Lulu looked once more at the pleading rebels.
She could spare their lives,
But then she considered something else.
If she let them go, wouldn’t that signal to the rest of the dragon race that rebellion carried little consequence?
In the past, she might not have cared, killing the leaders would have sufficed.
She had never been particularly bloodthirsty.
But now… things were different.
She did not know how much longer she could hold on.
Having stepped onto this path, there was no turning back.
“Those who oppose me… have only one fate, ”
The Silver Dragon Queen raised her hand. Above the rebels, countless ice swords formed, an execution in the making.
“N-no!!”
“Your Majesty, please spare us!”
“Why must we be killed?!”
Their desperate cries were ignored. Xia Lulu forced herself to become cold, unfeeling.
“Die.”
The ice swords fell.
A grand execution unfolded, turning the land into a sea of corpses and blood.
“… ”
The dragons of Fero Province were stunned into silence.
Even Lucia widened her eyes, this was the first time she had seen such a ruthless side of Xia Lulu, leaving her speechless.
Only the dying screams and curses of the rebels echoed, no other dragon dared make a sound.
In that moment, the fear Xia Lulu instilled surpassed all other emotions in their hearts.
“Take the others and clean this place up.”
Xia Lulu walked past Lucia expressionlessly, leaving behind a command devoid of any emotion.
“…Yes, Your Majesty.” Lucia lowered her head.

Xia Lulu returned to a nearby place to rest.
After dismissing everyone, she retreated alone into her room.
“Ugh… ah…”
Clutching her chest, Xia Lulu felt as though her heart were being sliced apart.
Her legs nearly gave out beneath her, as if they had lost all sensation.
Raymond had indeed been a formidable general, forcing her to deploy the Blizzard Domain. Without it, she could not have crushed him and his army so decisively.
But using so much of the Dragon King’s power now came with severe consequences.
In her previous battle against Herman, she had already released the restraints on her Dragon King’s Heart, placing immense strain on her body.
This battle only accelerated the damage further…
“Cough, cough!”
After a violent fit of coughing, she spat out blood.
Her vision darkened, blurring as she nearly collapsed,
But then she thought of the one she cared about.
Gritting her teeth, she forced herself back up.
“I’m fine… I can still hold on… I can keep clearing the path… for Xia Yi…”
