    Volume 6 + Chapter 90: Transaction Records

Lao Huo immediately began begging Xia Yi for mercy.

“Whatever you want, I can give it to you!”

“Oh? Anything?” Xia Yi raised an eyebrow.

“Yes! Miss Xia Yi, whatever you ask for, I can provide it!”

At this point, Lao Huo no longer had any other thoughts left. He had fully realized the overwhelming gap between himself and Xia Yi. If he didn’t lower his head now, there was no way he would survive.

“This was all a misunderstanding, Miss Xia Yi!”

    “A misunderstanding?”

“It was all Bi Yangde’s fault! He failed to recognize greatness and entertained thoughts he never should have had about you. That’s what led to all this!”

“And you had no bad intentions?” Xia Yi asked.

“No! Absolutely none! Miss Xia Yi, I merely wished to have some academic discussion and intellectual exchange with you!”

    “You’re pretty funny, Lao Huo.”

Xia Yi laughed, clearly not believing a single word he said.

“I truly know I was wrong, Miss Xia Yi. Please be magnanimous and spare me… I know mere words aren’t enough to show sincerity. Whatever you want, as long as you say it, we can provide it for you.”

Lao Huo supported himself on the floor and lowered his head humbly before Xia Yi. Gone was the earlier arrogance.

    “…”

Xia Yi fell silent, seemingly considering something.

“Miss Xia Yi, are you perhaps short on money? Since this is your first time in Molent, there must be many places where you’ll need funds. If that’s the case, please just say the word, we can provide you with ample financial support!”

“Do I look like someone lacking money?” Xia Yi asked in return.

    “Ah, well…”

Lao Huo became awkward. He simply could not figure out what Xia Yi actually wanted.

“Then… what is it that you want?”

“The transaction records. Do you have them?” Xia Yi asked.

    “The transaction records?”

“You’re a smart man. You should understand what I mean. Don’t play dumb.”

“I understand, I understand! If that’s what you want, I’ll retrieve them immediately!!”

Lao Huo knew perfectly well that Xia Yi was referring to the filthy trade records connected to Old Times Wine Café.

Those records were something he absolutely never wanted anyone else to see. If they leaked out, the consequences would be catastrophic.

Although such transactions were common within Molent, they had never truly been brought into the public eye.

But the situation was now critical.

If he failed to satisfy Xia Yi, he was certain he’d end up chopped in half.

    He had no choice.

He summoned over a waiter to help him stand, then led Xia Yi into a hidden room.

Standing before a bookshelf, he pulled out one of the books and placed it into a different slot.

Mechanical gears clicked behind the shelf like a lock being opened. Then the bookshelf automatically slid aside, revealing a hidden passageway behind it.

Xia Yi stepped into the corridor and soon arrived at its end.

It was a secret chamber packed with documents, among them records detailing the countless transactions that had taken place within Old Times Wine Café.

“You people really have done quite a lot.”

Looking over the horrifying records, Xia Yi could not help sighing.

“These people’s endings were truly miserable.”

    “This is…”

For a moment, Lao Huo could not even think of an excuse to defend himself.

He had never imagined a day would come when he would be questioned like this.

So he simply stood there in silence and waited.

After a long while, Xia Yi finally closed the notebook in her hands.

Seeing the timing was right, Lao Huo forced a smile onto his face.

“Miss Xia Yi, since I have already fulfilled your request and handed over all the previous transaction records, then you should also honor your promise, shouldn’t you?”

    “Promise? What promise?”

Lao Huo froze for a moment.

“…That as long as I fulfilled your request, you would let me go.”

    “I never said that.”

“B-But we already handed over the records for you to see! That was your condition!!”

“Yes, but those are two separate matters. I never promised you anything,” Xia Yi said with a smile. “Wasn’t that all just your own assumption?”

    “…”

    Lao Huo fell silent.

Thinking back carefully, Xia Yi truly had never once said she would spare him.

The entire time, he had simply been talking to himself.

“Today, none of you are leaving Old Times Wine Café alive. I’ve prepared a wonderful surprise gift for all of you, make sure to enjoy it.”

    Xia Yi spoke cheerfully.

Lao Huo’s composure completely shattered as he cursed out loud:

    “You evil dragon!!”

    ……

    ……

“Is there trouble happening at Old Times Wine Café?”

After receiving the report, the Security Patrol Squad captain brought his subordinates to the street.

Strangely enough, however, there was nobody outside the café.

Old Times Wine Café paid substantial extra fees, so the Security Patrol Squad was obligated to give it special attention. That was why they had rushed here as quickly as possible tonight.

“Captain, should we go inside?” one patrol member asked. “We heard someone is causing trouble in the café.”

“Yes, that’s correct. We’re preparing to enter, wait!!”

    The captain suddenly stopped mid-sentence.

An ominous feeling surged through his heart, and he immediately halted his subordinates.

“Everyone, do not approach that building!!”

    The instant his words fell…

    The ground began to tremble.

It was as though demolition magic designed for controlled destruction had activated. Old Times Wine Café shook violently before collapsing under the impact.

    Everyone stared in shock.

After all, the owner behind Old Times Wine Café was a highly influential figure. Everybody knew that. Very few people would dare provoke him.

So who had the guts to blow up the entire café?

After such a shocking incident occurred, massive crowds quickly gathered to watch the spectacle.

“Captain, look! What’s that in the sky?!” a patrol member shouted.

Only then did the captain notice countless sheets of paper drifting down from above, carried by the force of the explosion into the crowd below.

Curious, people picked them up from the ground.

    And after reading the contents,

Expressions of horror appeared on their faces.

    “What is this? Organ trafficking?!”

“I’m not seeing this wrong, am I?! Old Times Wine Café was actually this horrifying den of evil, sheltering and facilitating black-market trade!!”

“The traders are Bi Yangde and Lao Huo! Those two were working together! They absolutely cannot be spared!!”

The crowd instantly erupted with outrage.

The captain himself was equally confused. He picked up one of the papers and skimmed through it rapidly.

    His face changed drastically.

These were criminal records from Old Times Wine Café, including detailed transaction logs. The evidence alone was enough to completely condemn the café’s owner.

Most of the bystanders had already seen the records.

Soon, the news would spread throughout the city, and media outlets would rush to report on it for attention.

There was no possibility of suppressing the incident anymore.

Even so, the captain still forced himself to give orders.

“Rescue everyone inside Old Times Wine Café immediately!”
