The inner demon Xia Yi climbed out of the snow, shaking off the snow clinging to her body.
That last blow had hit her hard, her head was still spinning.
“What’s the result of the battle?”
Squinting, she looked ahead. As her vision refocused, she froze, disbelief spreading across her face.
Xia Lulu… had fallen?
Right ahead, Xia Lulu lay motionless in the snow.
The inner demon Xia Yi couldn’t make sense of it.
“Xia Lulu!”
“…”
There was no response to her call.
In her expectations, she should have gone all out, fighting Xia Lulu in an intense, evenly matched battle.
But that situation hadn’t occurred.
She hadn’t even used her ultimate technique, yet Xia Lulu had been defeated?
Given Xia Lulu’s strength, that attack shouldn’t have been enough to bring her down.
And yet, she could clearly sense that Xia Lulu’s aura was no longer in a combat state, and her breathing had become chaotic.
What was going on?
Could it be…
That she was actually incredibly strong?
Had her swordsmanship training in the mental world surpassed the Silver Dragon King?
“Inner demon… Did we win?” Xia Yi asked softly.
“We won.”
The inner demon Xia Yi finally confirmed it and smiled.
“Inner demon, this feels strange… defeating Xia Lulu like this… it’s not as happy as I imagined,” Xia Yi muttered.
“You really are strange, Xia Yi. You kept saying you wanted to defeat her, and now that she’s lost, you say something like that… how pretentious.”
The inner demon Xia Yi ignored her and walked toward Xia Lulu.
She was about to gloat.
“Xia Lulu, admit your defeat.”
“…”
“Heh, Xia Lulu, it seems you’re all show,” she sneered. “To me, you’re just slightly tougher cannon fodder!”
“Heh.”
The corner of Xia Lulu’s lips curled upward as she suddenly let out a cold laugh.
In that instant, the inner demon Xia Yi felt something was off, a chill ran down her spine.
“Damn it, she’s faking it!!”
Realizing it was a trap, she didn’t approach and immediately retreated.
But ice walls rose from the ground, blocking her path.
“…”
Xia Lulu slowly stood up from the snow, her head lowered, her expression hidden.
This sent a jolt of fear through the inner demon Xia Yi. She raised the Holy Sword, intending to cut through the ice wall and carve out an escape.
But chains burst from beneath the snow, binding her limbs.
“Inner demon, what are you doing? Move, move!!” Xia Yi shouted. “This is inside the Ice Snow Domain, casting speed is incomparable here! A powerful forbidden spell is about to be unleashed!”
Now it was her turn to act like a backseat commander.
“I know, stop yelling! I’m trying to break free!”
The inner demon Xia Yi strained with all her strength, gritting her teeth to tear apart the chains.
But every time she broke one, two more formed, endlessly binding her until she was practically wrapped up like a dumpling.
“Can you even do this?!” Xia Yi grew anxious. “Xia Lulu is coming!”
Xia Lulu walked up to her, raised a finger, and flicked her forehead.
Boom!
The force of the Dragon King shattered the icy chains. The inner demon Xia Yi was blasted backward, crashing through ice walls like a ball, carving a massive trench in the ground.
“Ah…”
Her grip loosened on the Holy Sword. She collapsed, eyes spinning, losing consciousness.
When Xia Yi regained control of her body, her head felt like it was about to explode. She rolled on the ground, baring her teeth in pain.
“Ow, ow, my forehead!”
“Xia Yi, you’ve lost,” Xia Lulu said, lifting her head with a cheerful smile.
“Xia Lulu, you’re too mean!!”
With teary eyes, Xia Yi clutched her forehead, utterly aggrieved.
“You’re a dignified Dragon King, how can you use something like playing dead?!”
“I was just teasing you a little, acting for fun. I didn’t expect your reaction to still be so amusing~”
Xia Lulu withdrew the Ice Snow Domain.
“What a pity, Xia Yi. You’ve failed this challenge again. As for the punishments you mentioned, I won’t be accepting them.”
“I got tricked by you again, you awful person!”
Xia Yi got up and shouted.
“Don’t think you’ve truly won! Just wait, next time I’ll make you regret it!”
With that, the silver-haired girl, her mindset shattered, ran off.
Xia Lulu watched her departing figure in silence.
Only after Xia Yi was completely gone did she drop her act.
“Mm…”
Xia Lulu collapsed to the ground, her legs could no longer support her.
In truth, she hadn’t used any “playing dead” tactic earlier, it wasn’t acting. She had genuinely lost consciousness during the battle.
It was only after hearing her daughter’s voice that she barely regained awareness.
Everything afterward had been to conceal her condition.
Judging by the result, she had succeeded, Xia Yi hadn’t noticed anything, and her secret remained safe.
“Xia Yi’s next challenge…”
Looking at her trembling hands, Xia Lulu revealed a bitter smile.
“Will I even last until then?”
Perhaps… that really had been Xia Yi’s final challenge.

Serra greeted Xia Yi as she returned to her room.
However, the red dragon maid quickly noticed Xia Yi’s reddened eyes, she had clearly been crying.
And her mood was terrible.
“Serra, I want to be alone for a while,” Xia Yi said.
“Understood.”
Serra nodded, asked no questions, and left.
“Stupid inner demon… always showing off. How could she forget Xia Lulu loves acting the most? Serves her right for losing, honestly, I would’ve done better myself!”
Xia Yi flopped onto the bed, sulking.
But in truth, what upset her most wasn’t the inner demon losing…
The little princess turned over, picked up the desk calendar, and looked at a circled date, her expression falling.
That “final challenge” to Xia Lulu had actually been just an excuse.
“Xia Lulu… why didn’t you ask what the ‘punishment’ was? Did you really forget this day…?”
