Volume 6 Chapter 116
by Golden DragonVolume 6 + Chapter 116: Why Is This So?
“Enough nonsense. Fight me!”
Facing the Human Envoy’s arrogant declaration, Xia Yi stomped heavily against the ground, launching the scattered weapons nearby into the air.
She threw several rapid punches against the airborne weapons, turning them into cannon-like projectiles that blasted toward the Human Envoy.
“Petty tricks.”
The Human Envoy raised a hand and activated the Human King Armor’s defensive field. A transparent golden wall appeared before him, blocking every incoming weapon and repelling them away from the barrier.
“Gale Slash!”
Xia Yi gripped an enchanted weapon and activated its elemental conversion function, causing the blade to radiate scorching red light.
The sword energy stirred up violent winds, and under the enhancement of flames, transformed into a blazing firestorm that surged toward the Human Envoy.
“Wind-Stilling Sword!”
The Human Envoy tightened his grip on his weapon, stepped forward, and swung his blade.
With a single slash, he severed the airflow itself, extinguishing the fiery gale.
Clang!
The Human Envoy’s sword collided with Xia Yi’s.
Violent sparks erupted between them.
The two golden-armored swordsmen clashed head-on in a contest of raw strength.
Xia Yi quickly realized that even using dragon power, she could not overpower him.
The Human Envoy was far stronger than she had imagined. Perhaps he could not be equated with the Human King at his peak during the Mythic Age, but his realm had already surpassed hers.
If she were not a dragon with overwhelming physical advantages, she might not even be able to match blades with him at all.
“Your strength is insignificant before me, Silver Dragon,” the Human Envoy commented coldly. “Your actions are no different from a mantis trying to stop a chariot.”
“The winner hasn’t been decided yet, so stop running your mouth!!”
Xia Yi activated one of the Human King Armor’s abilities and began absorbing the golden particles scattered nearby, using them to increase the armor’s output.
She could not maintain the Human King Armor indefinitely. After a certain amount of time, the fusion state would end.
So she intended to end the battle quickly.
Golden particles flowed into the Human King Armor, coating Xia Yi’s armor with a faint layer of golden radiance.
She forced the Human Envoy backward, gripped her weapon with both hands, and calmed her mind into a flawless state.
The Heart of Still Water.
In Xia Yi’s eyes, everything in the world became crystal clear.
She could hear the rhythm of her opponent’s breathing, perceive the flow of the air itself, and even predict the trajectory of all movement.
“Fivefold Instant Slash!”
Xia Yi switched the enchanted weapon’s attribute to wind, maximizing the speed of her sword.
With lightning-like speed, she unleashed five consecutive strikes. It was as though five slashes appeared simultaneously, all crashing toward the Human Envoy.
The Human Envoy was slightly surprised.
He attempted to weave an airtight web of sword defense with his weapon, but one slash still broke through and struck his body, sending him flying backward.
The instant he was airborne, Xia Yi used her movement technique to pursue him immediately, flashing behind him and delivering a finishing strike with her enchanted weapon.
The blow descended like the crushing might of a dragon, smashing the Human Envoy into the ground and creating an enormous crater.
“…Did he die?”
Xia Yi stared at the dust filling the sky and muttered softly.
An ordinary person should have died long ago after taking that full combo attack.
Yet from within the dust cloud, the Human Envoy slowly walked out.
“I see now, Silver Dragon. No wonder you were so confident. Your swordsmanship has already reached the transcendent realm.”
“You…!”
Only then did Xia Yi notice that the Human King Armor on the Human Envoy’s body was also covered in a faint layer of golden light, exactly like hers.
Clearly, during the moment he was struck, the Human Envoy had activated the same enhancement function, drastically boosting his defensive power.
Even attacks of that level could not break through the Human King Armor and injure him.
“If I am not mistaken,” the Human Envoy continued, “then in terms of swordsmanship alone, you no longer have any rivals upon this land, and you take great pride in that fact. However… ”
He raised his weapon before him and grasped the blade.
The golden radiance flowing across the Human King Armor poured into the sword.
It was as though the weapon had been released from its restraints.
The originally standard blade transformed dramatically. The sword lengthened into a gigantic golden energy blade, changing from a one-handed sword into a massive two-handed greatsword.
He raised the giant sword of light and swept it across horizontally.
“You are merely a mortal born in an age without the Mythic Era.”
“…!”
Xia Yi hurriedly used sword techniques to defend herself.
But the instant her weapon touched the giant sword of light, it was disintegrated by the terrifying energy.
The greatsword then struck directly against the Human King Armor, carving a vicious scar across it like a welding torch.
The overwhelming force of the slash blasted Xia Yi away. She tumbled across the ground for a long distance before finally managing to stop herself.
In terms of swordsmanship, she had been completely suppressed by the Human Envoy.
“How pitiful,” the Human Envoy mocked. “Stop fighting in that form already. Release your true dragon form. I know dragons become far stronger after releasing themselves.”
“…”
Xia Yi clenched her hand tightly.
After this exchange, she already understood that the Human Envoy’s mastery over the Human King Armor far exceeded her own.
Trying to break through the Human King Armor using ordinary weapons was simply too difficult.
And on top of that, he had further enhanced his own weapon.
No matter which aspect she considered, she was at a disadvantage.
If this battle continued as it was, there would only be one outcome.
If she wanted to reverse the situation, there was only one option left.
Xia Yi slowly stood up again.
“You still intend to continue fighting? As fellow swordsmen, you should understand the gap between us, shouldn’t you?” the Human Envoy asked in confusion.
“…Of course I do.”
“Then why not surrender?”
“I would rather die in battle than surrender to you. Besides, I still haven’t used my trump card yet.”
“You mean your Domain? Forget it. Before you could fully deploy a Domain, I could kill you first.”
The Human Envoy was not bluffing.
In fact, during her battle against Dorothea, Xia Yi had already learned this lesson. Domain deployment could be interrupted by opponents, especially by someone like the Human Envoy, whose speed and strength were both at the absolute pinnacle.
“Of course not.”
Xia Yi raised her hand high into the air.
A crest appeared upon the armored gauntlet.
The instant the Human Envoy saw the shape of the crest, he fell silent.
He knew exactly what it represented.
“Holy Sword, Gram!”
Xia Yi summoned the Holy Sword into existence.
The supreme weapon representing humanity’s inheritance appeared in her grasp.
“The Holy Sword that acknowledges only humans…”
The Human Envoy questioned her in a voice filled with disbelief.
“Why… Can a dragon wield it?”
