    Volume 6 + Chapter 111: Kennedy, Run!

The golden armored swordsman slaughtered everyone before him.

Whether they were Calamity Beasts or living humans, all were destroyed indiscriminately.

“He’s not here to save us!!”

The members of the Public Security Patrol who had not been caught in the aftershock screamed in terror.

Just moments ago, in the depths of despair, they had seen hope.

And now, the situation had plunged them straight back into the abyss.

    “In the Queen’s name.”

The armored swordsman suddenly vanished from where he stood.

Like randomly selecting a lucky audience member, he instantly appeared behind one of the patrol members.

The patrolman suddenly felt a chill run down his spine.

He lowered his head, and saw an armored hand piercing straight through his chest, clutching a still-beating heart.

    His mind went completely blank.

The next moment, the armored swordsman crushed the heart in his grasp.

Taking a life from him was as effortless as crushing an ant.

Immediately afterward, he hurled the corpse away. It smashed into a Calamity Beast before the swordsman leapt forward and unleashed a kick.

The force first pulverized the patrol member’s body, then continued through into the nearby beasts, effortlessly shattering their monstrous forms.

Skin that ordinary firearms could barely penetrate was as fragile as paper before the armored swordsman.

“You bastard, you killed my best friend!!!”

Seeing his friend murdered, one patrol member completely lost his reason in fury.

He raised his firearm and unleashed a barrage of shots toward the armored swordsman.

The armored swordsman merely turned his head and glanced at the shooter.

Then he lightly shifted his body aside with the smallest possible movement, casually dodging every incoming bullet.

The motion was so minimal that it appeared absurdly effortless, as though he were merely taking a leisurely stroll.

To outside observers, it looked that way.

But in truth, he had already calculated the bullets’ trajectories and moved in advance.

    “Meaningless resistance.”

The armored swordsman casually picked up an enchanted dagger from the ground, a weapon capable of elemental conversion.

He instantly appeared before the shooter and drew a sharp silver arc.

The slash split apart the incoming bullets, and severed the shooter’s throat at the same time.

The armored swordsman’s strength was utterly terrifying.

Against everyone present, he existed on an entirely overwhelming level.

    Whoosh.

He casually threw the bloodstained dagger.

The blade pierced straight through the head of a flying Calamity Beast, killing it effortlessly.

At that moment, everyone finally understood.

This mysterious figure who had descended from the heavens would kill everyone except himself, no matter who they were.

“Why… Why do we have to die…? I can’t accept this, I CAN’T ACCEPT THIS!!”

A mentally broken patrol member charged forward with his weapon raised, attacking while screaming his question at the armored swordsman.

“My duty, bestowed upon me by the Queen, is to cleanse corrupted programs.”

The armored swordsman spoke words no one could understand.

Then he seized the longsword from the attacker’s hands.

Displaying exquisite swordsmanship, he unleashed a circular wave of sword energy centered on himself.

The sweeping arc expanded in all directions, harvesting lives across a massive area like wheat being cut down in a field.

Those slain by the armored swordsman underwent strange transformations.

Their bodies blurred, disintegrated into particles, and vanished completely from the world.

    “Hmm?”

Suddenly, the armored swordsman lifted his head and looked toward a certain direction.

There, standing in the distance, was an elven man, the ruler of this city: Kennedy.

    “Why… are you here?”

Kennedy stared at the armored swordsman, his entire body trembling.

That armor was almost identical to the Justice Bringer he had seen before.

But he knew with certainty, this was not the Justice Bringer.

This was a Human Envoy, a Human Arbiter.

    Kennedy’s mind buzzed violently.

He had once witnessed a Human Arbiter descend upon a neighboring city that had fallen out of control and erase everything there.

Without question, the Human Arbiter’s arrival in Molent meant only one thing: Annihilation.

At this point, there was absolutely no possibility of negotiation left.

    There was only one response…

    Run!!

Kennedy turned around without hesitation and fled.

After all, he himself possessed considerable strength.

He sprinted back toward his private room at incredible speed.

“Lord Governor, why are you back already? Did something happen outside?”

Charlie, who had remained inside the room, looked utterly bewildered upon seeing the sweat-soaked Kennedy.

“Stop asking questions and come with me!!”

Kennedy grabbed Charlie, raised his hand, and slammed it down onto the desk, activating a hidden switch.

A secret passage opened within the room.

The two of them immediately rushed inside.

At the end of the passage sat a black convertible sports car.

It had been prepared long ago as an escape vehicle.

If anything ever happened to the armory, Kennedy planned to use the secret route to escape.

“Charlie, drive!” Kennedy leapt into the passenger seat.

    “At once, Lord Governor.”

As Kennedy’s trusted subordinate, Charlie possessed exceptional driving skills.

    He started the engine.

The modified sports car roared like a monster as the accelerator slammed down.

The vehicle shot forward explosively, accelerating continuously as it burst out of the secret tunnel and onto the streets of Molent.

“To West City! We escaped through West City!” Kennedy shouted. “Molent is finished, completely finished! There’s no point staying here anymore, otherwise we’ll both die!!”

    “Understood!”

    Charlie nodded sharply.

He knew exactly what kind of man Kennedy was.

If his superior had abandoned the territory he painstakingly built, then the situation was beyond saving.

All they could do now was preserve their lives and wait for another chance to rise again.

“Is the Human Arbiter chasing us?”

Kennedy checked the rearview mirror repeatedly.

The sports car’s engine was deafening, almost like illegal street racing, attracting numerous Calamity Beasts behind them.

But this black convertible had been heavily modified.

Its speed was so absurdly fast that the beasts could only inhale its exhaust fumes.

Aside from the pursuing monsters, Kennedy saw no trace of golden armor in the mirror.

Apparently, the Arbiter had been left behind at the armory.

By the time the Human Arbiter discovered the hidden tunnel, it would already be too late.

At this speed, there was no way he could catch up.

“Haha… good, excellent…! That means the Human Arbiter can’t catch us anymore!”

    Kennedy burst into laughter.

At such a life-or-death moment, he could not help wanting to celebrate a little.

After all, men who smile tend to have good luck.

Even in absolute despair, he had still clawed out a sliver of survival.

“Lord Governor… are we safe now?” Charlie asked cautiously after seeing Kennedy laugh so happily.

“Yes. We’re safe now. We’ll reach West City soon, and once we escape Molent, everything will be settled, ”

    Kennedy spoke confidently.

However, before he could finish his sentence, the Human Arbiter appeared again in a way he could never have imagined.
