Volume 6 + Chapter 33: Perhaps I Could Find Her

“Elly, what did you just say?”

Xia Yi’s expression changed.

“Huh?”

Elly was taken aback.

She didn’t understand, had she said something strange?  

Could it be that she had, once again without realizing it, committed some grave offense, and now they were interrogating her, ready to upgrade the crime of beheading to the extermination of all nine kin?

“I was wrong, I was wrong, Your Highness the Princess! I’ll never dare again! Please spare me!”

“Elly, I’m asking you, what did you just say?”

Xia Yi’s voice no longer sounded as angry.

Elly opened her eyes and saw that the killing intent in her princess’s gaze had diminished considerably.

Could it be…

A turning point?

“Your Highness, I said I was a small fry, ”

“Not that sentence. The one before it.”

“It should be… ‘go find a strong person of the same rank as Her Majesty the Queen’?” Elly ventured tentatively.

“Exactly. You’ve reminded me, Elly. That’s exactly it!”

Xia Yi walked over and pulled the utterly bewildered Elly up from the ground.

Neither the imperial physicians nor the healers, nor even the entire dragon royal palace, had been able to save Xia Lulu.

There was one reason she had overlooked.

That was the fact that Xia Lulu’s strength and level far exceeded those of ordinary dragons, which might have placed the problem beyond the scope of what ordinary dragonkind could solve.

Perhaps finding an existence as powerful as Xia Lulu herself was the only way to have a glimmer of hope.

In theory, as the supreme sovereign of the strongest higher race, there was no one in all of dragonkind stronger than Xia Lulu.  

That was also the common belief, even the sovereigns of other higher races were no match for Xia Lulu.

However, there was one extremely special exception.

This was a secret known only to a very few.

Deep in the Purple Iris Valley of the Dragon Kingdom, there lived a golden dragon that should have gone extinct, Dorothea Yuritas. And her strength was unquestionably at the Dragon King level!

Both Xia Yi and Elly had personally experienced just how powerful Dorothea was, only Xia Lulu could contend with her.

Back when Xia Yi and Elly had secretly slipped into Purple Iris Valley, if Xia Lulu hadn’t intervened in time, the two of them might have died inside.

“Your Highness… what did I remind you of?” Elly was still lost.

“Elly, do you remember what happened in Purple Iris Valley?” Xia Yi asked. “Back then, we snuck in, got lost, and encountered a golden dragon.”

“Oh, I remember! Her name was Dorothea, right!”

“Correct. She is also a top-tier Dragon King-level powerhouse. If no one else has any solution, we might go find Dorothea.”

“Your Highness, I get the feeling that the golden dragon’s relationship with Her Majesty is not ordinary. The way Her Majesty spoke to her was different from how she spoke to anyone else!”

Elly grew excited, as if she saw hope.

“Xia Lulu and Dorothea are indeed very familiar with each other,” Xia Yi affirmed.

“Then doesn’t that mean there’s a chance!” Elly’s face broke into a smile.

“Dorothea is a golden dragon who has lived for many years, like a living fossil. The knowledge she possesses and the skills she has mastered are unique in all the Dragon Kingdom. So she very likely has a way!”

“Your Highness, in that case, let’s go to Purple Iris Valley!!”

“Let’s act quickly. Elly, go summon the other members of the Royal Maids,” Xia Yi ordered.

“Yes!”

Xia Yi gathered the few Royal Maids who knew the inside story in Xia Lulu’s room.

“Your Highness, Elly told us that you plan to leave the dragon royal palace, is that correct?” Lucia asked.

“Yes. I am taking Xia Lulu with me,” Xia Yi nodded. “I intend to seek out the golden dragon in Purple Iris Valley.”

“The golden dragon clan? But aren’t they extinct?” Atiya asked in confusion.

“Long ago, the golden dragon clan was executed by the reigning Dragon King for plotting rebellion. Since then, the golden dragon bloodline was severed,” Serra recalled from history.

“That’s true. However, one golden dragon survived in a special way, living in seclusion in Purple Iris Valley, aloof from worldly affairs,” Xia Yi explained to the others.  

“Her strength is immense, she can contend with Xia Lulu. Right now, all of dragonkind is at a loss regarding Xia Lulu’s condition. Perhaps Dorothea will have a solution.”

“I recall that Purple Iris Valley has an ominous legend… Oh, was it all the doing of that golden dragon?” Lucia realized.

Mentioning the ominous legend of Purple Iris Valley, the others remembered as well.  

Any dragon who strayed into Purple Iris Valley had never come out again, whether ordinary or powerful, no exceptions. That was why everyone avoided Purple Iris Valley.

“That’s her. Her name is Dorothea Yuritas. She normally dislikes being disturbed by outsiders. Recklessly entering is basically a death sentence. However, Xia Lulu is different, Xia Lulu knows Dorothea,” Xia Yi said.

“Yes, Her Majesty the Queen is very familiar with Dorothea,” Elly added. “They must be friends. Now that something has happened to Her Majesty, Dorothea will definitely help!”

“Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go find Dorothea!” Atiya proposed.

“The reason I called you all together is that I need you to protect Xia Lulu on the way to Purple Iris Valley,” Xia Yi said earnestly. “This may be… our last hope.”

“Your Highness, since it is your request, we will certainly agree. As long as there is a chance to save Her Majesty, even the slightest chance, the Royal Maids will fight for it with all our might. Serving the dragon royal family is our duty.”

Lucia bowed to Xia Yi, speaking on behalf of the Royal Maids.

Xia Yi was deeply moved.

“Good. Then we set out now. Our goal is Purple Iris Valley, to find Dorothea!”

Purple Iris Valley.

Under Xia Yi’s leadership, several members of the Royal Maids had arrived.  

Elly, Serra, Lucia, and Atiya.

Now, Xia Yi, moving together with Xia Lulu, entered Purple Iris Valley.

It had not changed much from her memory. Passing through a wide hillside and stepping into Purple Iris Valley, the whole world transformed.

“The hillside at the entrance… has disappeared?” Serra frowned. She could no longer sense where the exit was.

“It’s true! And it seems we can’t fly out either!”  

Atiya tried to escape from the place, but failed every time.

Lucia’s expression changed. After stepping into the valley and experiencing it for herself, she already felt just how unfathomably powerful the master of this place was.

“Now that we’re inside, we can’t get out. Let’s keep moving forward,” Xia Yi said.

“Yes.”

Lucia nodded.

The group continued deeper into Purple Iris Valley. But after advancing some distance, Elly’s face suddenly turned deathly pale, and she cried out loudly.

“Your Highness, this is bad! Something terrible has happened!!”
