Volume 6 Chapter 143
by Golden DragonVolume 6 + Chapter 143: The Source of The Cataclysm
“Eve… she’s planning to destroy this world!” Ella said to Xia Yi with a grave expression.
“Hmm?”
Xia Yi was taken aback.
The claim was simply too absurd.
Was destroying the world something so easy to accomplish?
“Ella, can you please stop talking nonsense?”
“I’m not talking nonsense!”
“Eve is such an innocent elf, without a single bad bone in her body, I know that,” Xia Yi said. “How could someone like that suddenly want to destroy the world? I doubt even a manga would use such a ridiculous premise.”
“I’m the one who draws manga, so don’t I know how absurd it is? Precisely because she wants to destroy the world, and I know the inside story, she wants to kill me, that’s why I have to hide!”
“I’m getting more and more confused…” Xia Yi held her forehead. “Let me ask you another way, why has the Elven Kingdom suddenly turned into this? And why are you inside the Elven Kingdom?”
“Telling that is a bit troublesome. Actually, I knew Eve from before. She brought me along to participate in the anti-Vampire war.”
“Is that so?”
“Yes. Back then, I made a promise to her. In exchange, she had to facilitate my actions…”
“That was to deal with me, right?”
Xia Yi snorted.
She still remembered what happened in the Crimson Empire, how she had nearly fallen into Ella’s hands and been completely drained.
“That’s all in the past, don’t be so hung up on it! The important part comes later. That’s just a minor backstory, don’t get hung up on the details!”
“Fine, go on. You knew Eve, and you cooperated with each other. Then what?”
Xia Yi spoke offhandedly, without much thought.
“Did you, by any chance, run away later and not help Eve?”
“Hehe~★”
“I knew it!”
Xia Yi wasn’t surprised in the least.
Just as expected, Ella was truly a first-class despicable succubus.
“Ahem, ahem…”
Ella coughed twice, trying to ease the awkward atmosphere.
“That old hag Vear found out about it and forced me to come to the Elven Kingdom to fulfill the promise I had made to Eve. I had no choice, so I came to the Elven Kingdom and found Eve.”
“And then?”
Xia Yi felt that after all this back-and-forth with the succubus lady, they were finally getting to the heart of the matter.
“The coup in the Elven Kingdom, the outside world doesn’t know about it, does it?” Ella asked.
“Coup? That happened?”
“Yes. The Elven King passed away. Normally, the throne would have passed to the only heir, Princess Eve. But the Dark Elves seized the opportunity to invade the Elven capital, and stormed the elven palace.”
“The Dark Elves, I remember they have a deep conflict with the Elves.”
Karami had mentioned that part when introducing the history of the Elven Kingdom to Xia Yi.
“When the Dark Elves invaded, the elven general Kennedy led his troops to the capital, entered the palace, and drove out the Dark Elves. But then he took control of everyone inside the elven palace, including Eve. Before long, Eve became a puppet, and Kennedy became the chancellor, holding military power and controlling the country.”
Listening to Ella’s account, Xia Yi felt certain that Kennedy was the mastermind behind some sinister plot.
But even so, she still didn’t understand how this connected to the current situation.
“Ella, was that when you met Eve?”
“Yes,” Ella nodded. “Eve was under house arrest in the elven palace. I found her and intended to fulfill my promise… Oh, I haven’t told you yet, Eve’s memories were incomplete. She wanted me to use my succubus ability to enter her dreams and release the seal deep within her consciousness.”
“You did it, I assume?”
“Of course. For a Succubus, it was way too easy. However…”
Ella’s expression turned grim.
“That seal was placed in Eve’s consciousness by the Elven King. After I released it, countless black mud surged out, almost filling her entire conscious space.”
“Black mud…?”
“I can’t say exactly what it was, but I felt a similar kind of dreadful chill inside your body as well.”
Even now, recalling it made Ella shudder.
“I nearly died inside her conscious world. Still, I barely managed to escape. From then on, Eve changed. She left the elven palace, killed Kennedy, and drove the entire Elven capital into madness. All the elves went crazy, endlessly displaying their own greed, slaughtering each other, losing all reason, it was hell on earth.”
“This…”
Xia Yi remembered that when she had first crossed into the transformed border of the Elven Kingdom, the Bear Dominator mercenary group was in the same state, killing each other uncontrollably.
Had all of that been caused by Eve?
“What exactly was the sealed past of Eve?” Xia Yi asked.
“I really didn’t dare to touch that black mud any further, so I don’t know what Eve’s past was. Eve’s hair turned black, and she said with her own mouth that she would destroy this world…”
Ella paused.
“I felt she was terrifying, so I chose to run and hide. But before I could even leave the Elven Kingdom, a cataclysmic change occurred. The elves disappeared one after another, the Mythic Age descended, and all kinds of figures from the mythical era appeared… This must be closely connected to Eve!”
The Elf Who Would Destroy the World.
Those words surfaced in Xia Yi’s mind. The prophecy left by the Great Sage of Elves long ago perfectly matched Eve’s current state.
The “queen” mentioned by the three envoys was very likely Eve, the source of all these cataclysmic changes.
“The transformed Elven Kingdom has been sealed off, so I’ve had to hide. Since I know what’s happened to Eve, I really dare not show my face.”
Ella revealed why she had been staying outside.
“I planned to keep hiding and look for an opportunity to escape… but then I had to run into you, little silver dragon, and fall into your hands again, what lousy luck!”
“So basically, you’re the spark that ignited all of this?”
Xia Yi stared at Ella.
“Th-this… you can’t blame me! How was I supposed to know this would happen? If I had known, I would never have undone that seal in Eve’s consciousness!”
Ella felt utterly wronged, as if she had inexplicably been made a scapegoat.
“Alright, I’ve told you all of this, little silver dragon. Now you understand how serious it is, don’t you? Why don’t we find a way to run away from this transformed Elven Kingdom as soon as possible…”
“No, I refuse.” Xia Yi rejected Ella’s suggestion immediately.
“Little silver dragon, what are you trying to do?”
