Volume 5 + Chapter 133: The Descending Death

    “Domain Descend…”

Xia Yi raised her hand toward the false god, as if she intended to seize control of heaven and earth itself.

The clear water within the vessel finally brimmed over.

At the boundary between life and death, she shattered the bottleneck of her realm and stepped into an entirely new level.

From the fourth tier, she formally entered the domain of the fifth tier.

If she wished to defeat the King of Higher Species, then she would obtain the power of such a king herself.

If one is invincible within a domain, then she too would bring forth a domain.

It was an exceedingly simple truth.

No matter the past, the bloodline of the Silver Dragon Royalty had already reached a boiling point, and the heart supplying that dragon king’s blood had transformed into the Heart of the Dragon King.

The White Night Cult Leader believed he had already surpassed the wielder of the Holy Sword.

    But he had never considered…

That his actions would summon the Dragon King’s descent.

“You can use a domain? Stop bluffing!” the White Night Cult Leader roared. “I won’t fall for it!”

The sun of Takamagahara cast down concentrated beams of laser light. Passing through the Yata Mirror, their power was amplified to the utmost limit.

Under such an attack, Xia Yi had absolutely no means to defend herself.

The destructive light shot straight toward the silver dragon.

Yet as the attack closed in, Xia Yi’s expression did not waver in the slightest. The hand she had raised merely made a subtle gesture, a slight flick.

As if brushing something aside, she deflected the amplified laser. The diverted beams struck elsewhere, triggering massive explosions.

The shockwaves lifted her silver hair, yet caused no real harm.

    “…What method did you use?”

The White Night Cult Leader’s eyes widened in shock.

Even instant magic cast through chant suppression would leave traces of mana guidance.

Yet there was not the slightest sign of spellcasting in the air.

“Do you still not understand? This is already within the Dragon King’s domain,” Xia Yi said.

At some unknown moment, the air had turned cold, and pure white, delicate flakes began to fall from the sky.

    Snow?

The White Night Cult Leader realized it.

Howling snowstorms swept across the world. Within Takamagahara, a raging blizzard formed, and visibility dropped continuously.

“You can actually control an ice-and-snow domain?!” he exclaimed.

    “…”

In truth, Xia Yi herself did not fully understand what kind of domain she had summoned.

Xia Lulu’s domain was indeed one of ice and snow, granting control over all frozen elements within it.

Having inherited the Silver Dragon Royal bloodline from Xia Lulu, Xia Yi theoretically could manifest such a domain.

However, her intuition told her that her domain was somehow different.

“So what if you can deploy a domain? It’s merely a newborn one, how could it possibly defeat a god’s domain? The Red Fox God’s power that’s lent you to sustain your life has already faded. Without its protection, you will eventually succumb to illusion within Takamagahara!”

Though briefly shaken, the White Night Cult Leader quickly regained his composure.

A fifth-tier being releasing the aura of a Higher Species King was indeed intimidating.

But it was still only the fifth tier, advancing one major realm changed nothing.

Victory was still firmly in his grasp.

    “Within Takamagahara, I am invincible.”

He reactivated the solar disk. This time, instead of focusing the attack, he dispersed the amplified laser after it passed through the Yata Mirror, turning it into a rain of light, dense, indiscriminate bombardment.

“Fox God Technique: Yata Mirror, Amaterasu Omikami!”

    Snap.

Xia Yi lightly snapped her fingers.

It was as if she had opened an umbrella, within the torrential rain of light, a perfectly untouched area emerged.

All attacks merely grazed past her, like outlines tracing a body, leaving her completely unharmed.

“The accuracy is pretty terrible,” Xia Yi mocked. “Calm down, don’t rush, take your time and aim properly. I’m not even dodging.”

    “You… what is going on?!”

The White Night Cult Leader felt utterly humiliated.

Suddenly, his vision flickered, something glinted for a brief moment.

Sensing something amiss, he adjusted his position in midair. Only then did he see that the space around Xia Yi was filled with transparent ice mirrors.

The mirrors vanished upon contact with lasers, but were instantly regenerated, causing slight deviations.

With continuous deflection, the attacks ultimately lost their target.

To achieve this through magic alone was nearly impossible, chanting required time, and suppressed chanting could not sustain such quality and quantity.

This was something only possible within a domain.

“In my Dragon King domain, can you still claim invincibility?” Xia Yi asked.

“…You dare use such underhanded tricks to toy with me? Don’t get carried away in front of a god!”

The White Night Cult Leader was enraged.

Abandoning the Yata Mirror’s amplification, he activated the Fox God’s eyes and poured divine power into the solar disk.

“Sink forever into the world of illusion! Fox God Technique: Eternal Illusion!”

“You call yourself a god, yet does the sun still shine above you?” Xia Yi said coldly.

The illusory sunlight did not fall.

The White Night Cult Leader looked up, and froze.

The raging blizzard blanketed the sky like a curtain, completely obscuring the solar disk and extinguishing its light.

“Damn it! Damn you! Resorting to such petty tricks!”

    He was furious beyond measure.

“Then I’ll cast an illusion directly on you!”

Xia Yi crooked her finger. The broken Holy Sword flew into her hand. Closing her eyes, she stepped backward.

Snow and wind brushed past her body, concealing the small dragon girl within the storm and causing the White Night Cult Leader to lose his target.

Within Xia Yi’s domain, he grew disoriented.

Endless wind drowned out sound, and ceaseless snow obstructed vision.

He no longer felt like a god.

Instead, he felt like prey, hunted, watched, waiting for a fatal mistake.

This indescribable pressure disrupted his mind and judgment.

“Come out! Come out now! Stop hiding!” he roared.

Suddenly, a sharp flash of sword light split the dim world, cutting through the storm as it struck toward him.

At the end of that strike was Xia Yi, gripping half of the Holy Sword, intent on slaying the Azure Fox God from the sky.

    “This level of attack?”

The White Night Cult Leader felt insulted.

Defeat him with a broken sword?

    Ridiculous!

    “Yasakani no Magatama!”

The nine-tailed azure fox summoned the sacred jewel, forming a divine barrier that blocked the attack.

Next, he would lock onto her and counterattack, crushing this arrogant silver dragon.

“However, you no longer have that chance.”

Xia Yi seemed to read his thoughts. Her silver eyes opened, her lips curving into a faint smile, the arrogance of a Dragon King.

    “You have already lost.”

    “Nonsense…”

Before he could finish, a soul-freezing chill overtook him.

Turning back, he saw what had descended upon him,

    Death.
