    Volume 4 + Chapter 270: Clarification

Kennedy became extremely agitated upon seeing the silver-haired girl collapsed beside Xia Yi.

Who else could this be? It must be the mastermind behind this war, the ruler of the vampires, the Vampire Ancestor!!

    “Step aside, Silver Dragon Princess!!”

Kennedy drew the general’s sword from his waist and decisively charged forward.

When this Elven general set out on the campaign, he had confidently sworn before the Elven King that he would represent the Elven race and use this war to secure tangible benefits and status for the elves.

At the time, several factions within the Elven Kingdom opposed the elves acting as alliance leaders and committing large numbers of troops and resources to the war.

However, thanks to Kennedy’s efforts, the Elven King ultimately agreed to let him lead the army.

In reality, the Elven race found itself in an extremely awkward position in this war, even being reduced to a supporting role for other nations, falling far short of Kennedy’s initial vision.

If he returned without any significant achievements, his standing within the Elven race would undoubtedly suffer considerable damage.

Having painstakingly risen to a position second only to one, with ten thousand beneath him, and with the Elven King’s reign nearing its end, his status… he had to preserve it at all costs!

Now, his eyes saw only the head of the Vampire Ancestor.

    “Ice Swords!”

Seeing Kennedy’s aggressive charge, Xia Yi utilized Chanting Control. Under the effect of Infinite Chanting, ice swords crystallized in the air and shot towards the Elven general simultaneously.

    “Hyah!”

Kennedy swung his sword with masterful technique, cutting down all the surrounding ice swords.

This somewhat surprised Xia Yi, it turned out this Elven Grand General did possess some skill.

At the same time, she noticed something peculiar, the sword in Kennedy’s hand seemed special. Its blade glowed with a green light, and as the user channeled magic into it, a series of runes lit up, radiating waves of natural magic.

This weapon was none other than the Elven legendary weapon, Nature’s Boon. In this state, it seemed as though the weapon itself was assisting the user in chanting magic, which was precisely one of Nature’s Boon’s characteristics.

    “Natural Magic: Verdant Bindings!”

With the assistance of Nature’s Boon, Kennedy released his magic.

From the earth, parched from the intense battle, tender green sprouts suddenly emerged, growing at an astonishing rate. They swiftly entangled Xia Yi’s body, attempting to restrain her.

    “Got you!”

Kennedy raised Nature’s Boon, intending to sever the vampire girl’s head with a single strike.

“I told you to stop! Didn’t you hear me?!”

Xia Yi grew angry. Activating her Silver Dragon Royal bloodline, she released a draconic monarch’s pressure, forcibly slowing Kennedy’s movements. Then, unleashing draconic power, she broke free from the natural magic’s restraints.

She raised her hand, summoning the Holy Sword at the fastest speed possible, and swung it at Kennedy.

    Clang!!

Gram clashed against Nature’s Boon, sending a shower of fierce sparks flying between the two legendary weapons.

Although both were superior species, and in terms of pure cultivation level, the Elven general surpassed Xia Yi.

In terms of raw power, the Elven race was far inferior to the Dragon race. Kennedy was forced back by Xia Yi.

“…What are you doing, Silver Dragon Princess?!”

    Kennedy angrily questioned Xia Yi.

“Why are you protecting the Vampire Ancestor?”

At that moment, armies from other races arrived at the scene, witnessing the spectacle before them.

To protect the fallen vampire girl, the Silver Dragon Princess had actually chosen to wield her sword against an ally of the Anti-Vampire Alliance and fight the Elven Grand General?

    “Tch!”

Kennedy clicked his tongue in extreme displeasure upon seeing others arrive.

He was just on the verge of claiming the Vampire Ancestor’s head, only for this Silver Dragon Princess to be so oblivious and obstruct him!

With powerhouses from other races gathering, the situation had already shifted, making it impossible for the elves to monopolize the spoils.

    “Your Highness!!”

The captain of the Anti-Vampire Special Operations Unit led the Dragon soldiers, arriving from the sky.

The dragons landed beside Xia Yi.

Though they didn’t know the exact details, the Dragon soldiers’ primary mission remained protecting Xia Yi.

“Apologies, Your Highness! We are late!”

“The Silver Dragon Princess is protecting… the Vampire Ancestor?” The Dwarf King frowned.

“Could it be that the Silver Dragon Princess is now under the control of the Vampire Ancestor, just as we were earlier?” The Beastmen Chieftain voiced his doubt.

“It doesn’t look like that, old bull. Look carefully, the Silver Dragon Princess appears perfectly lucid, not frenzied in the slightest,” the Troll King shook his head.

The Beastmen Chieftain scratched his head, “So what you’re saying is…”

Hearing the conversation among the other races’ leaders, Kennedy pondered for a moment, then abruptly changed his demeanor.

“Silver Dragon Princess, your current actions can very well be seen as betraying the Anti-Vampire Alliance!!”

Kennedy pointed at Xia Yi, raising his voice.

“Kennedy, stop making baseless accusations!!” the Captain retorted. “Our Dragon race has been fighting the vampires to the death! We defeated the former Vampire King Herman and the Vampire Ancestor. How can this possibly be betrayal?!”

“I’m not speaking nonsense! The Silver Dragon Princess’s actions are different from the earlier situation with the Beastmen Chieftain and the Troll King. They were controlled by the vampires, but you are not. You are voluntarily choosing to protect the Vampire Ancestor, correct?”

Xia Yi sensed that everyone was looking at her with suspicion.

She also realized that, in their eyes, her actions did indeed appear very much like betrayal.

“I have not committed betrayal. I was just fighting the Vampire Ancestor moments ago!”

“If that’s the case, then why did you stop me from beheading the Vampire Ancestor? She is the mastermind behind it all!!” Kennedy pressed aggressively. “If you truly haven’t betrayed us, then act now! Sever the Vampire Ancestor’s head!!”

How could Xia Yi possibly agree to Kennedy’s demand?

“Miu Miu was controlled by Elizabeth, “

“Stop spouting nonsense here! That person over there is the mastermind of the war, the Vampire Ancestor!! It seems your Dragon race was never sincere about fighting the vampires from the start, you were internal spies all along! The rumors of the Vampire Ancestor’s marriage to you were not false after all, but true! You have already chosen to represent the Dragon race and stand on the side of the vampires, making yourself our enemy!”

With Kennedy’s instigation, the way the crowd looked at Xia Yi had already begun to change.

From confusion, to suspicion, and now to hostility.

It seemed the Dragon race had been placed in opposition to the other races.

“Hand over the Vampire Ancestor, Silver Dragon Princess. As the source of this war, she must face due judgment!” Kennedy declared. “As the leader of the Anti-Vampire Alliance, I tell you this is the Dragon race’s final chance to clear its name. Otherwise, for the sake of peace, the Anti-Vampire Alliance will consider the Dragon race an enemy and declare war!”
