After seeing Elizabeth stop its act of feeding, the Shadow of Gluttony turned its head and tilted it ninety degrees to the side, as if puzzled.
“Beast of Gluttony, our battle is not over yet.”
Elizabeth’s crimson eyes shimmered with scarlet light as her divine halo activated.
These words were spoken not only to the Shadow of Gluttony before her, but also to Beelzebub.
The Divine Ancestor of the Vampire Clan had already made her decision, she would sever here and now the possibility of the Beast of Gluttony descending fully into this world.
“Lady Divine Ancestor?”
The surviving Vampire Clan soldiers, faces pale and bodies trembling, asked in fear.
“All of you, leave this place. Do not approach this battlefield,” Elizabeth said. “Go and inform the Anti–Vampire Clan Alliance to temporarily halt the war against us. Catastrophe has already descended upon this land. Do not allow a single living being to come near here.”
“B-but…”
“Carry out my command,” Elizabeth said in an unquestionable tone.
“Yes!”
All remaining Vampire Clan soldiers immediately retreated from the area.
Elizabeth made this judgment not to protect everyone.
Any life that approached this place would become nourishment for the Shadow of Gluttony. If that monster were allowed to evolve, it would become even more impossible to defeat.
Thus, what she had to do was seize the opportunity before her and stake everything she had, to put an end to this catastrophe.
“Come,” Elizabeth said, forming a blood spear and gripping it tightly in her hand.
The Shadow of Gluttony did not rush to pursue the fleeing Vampire Clan soldiers. What angered it more was having its feeding interrupted, and it decided to devour the annoying being before it first.
“GRAAAAAAAHHHH!!!”
The Shadow of Gluttony threw back its head and let out a long howl. The sound waves churned up layers upon layers of ocean waves, stirring the tides as they swept across Elizabeth’s body.
“Ugh…!”
Elizabeth’s body shuddered violently. She clutched her forehead, feeling her mind become contaminated, her vision flickering and overlapping.
Enduring the mental agony, she forced herself to raise her head.
The Shadow of Gluttony had already rushed right in front of her, raising its blackened arm.
Slash!
Hideous claw marks tore across Elizabeth’s body. Blood sprayed everywhere, the blow nearly cleaving her in half at the waist.
Even in her Blood-Burning Body state, her defenses were breached.
She felt the areas struck by the attack being completely swallowed by darkness.
“Gyaaaah!”
The Shadow of Gluttony continued its assault, intending to crush the Vampire girl’s head outright.
It seemed Elizabeth was about to die here, but…
This was also her chance.
“Divine-Era Blood Magic · Blood Manipulation!”
Elizabeth launched an unexpected counterattack. She manipulated the blood droplets suspended in midair, detonating them so that, like sea urchins, they sprouted sharp, slender spikes that pierced through the Shadow of Gluttony’s arm.

She had already anticipated this, at the instant her throat vanished, she swiftly replenished it using the Sea of Blood.
This was the fundamental difference between her and the Shadow of Gluttony.
The Shadow of Gluttony fought purely on instinct, driven by devouring, without the slightest tactical thought.
Elizabeth, however, could.
“Blood Magic · Spike of Wrath!!”
Empowered by the amplification from her Blood-Burning Body, Elizabeth raised her blood spear and drove it straight through the Shadow of Gluttony’s body.
Yet even with such planning, this was still not enough to defeat the Shadow of Gluttony. No matter how many tactics or how refined the technique, a single misstep would lead to total collapse. There was no margin for error whatsoever.
If there was no means to truly overcome the enemy, then what was the point?
Thus, the Vampire Ancestor made a mad decision.
“Blood Divine Authority · Erosion!!”
Elizabeth roared.
She invoked the Blood Divine Authority, initiating erosion against the Shadow of Gluttony.
At the instant her Blood Divine Authority made contact with the darkness, she felt as though her brain were about to burn away. Her consciousness shattered, this had already exceeded the safe limit of erosion.
Using the Blood Divine Authority to erode a Legendary Beast would cause even the Vampire Ancestor to self-destruct in less than a second.
However, what stood before her was not a complete Legendary Beast, but a newly grown juvenile. Perhaps… there was a chance.
Elizabeth chose to gamble. Even if losing meant dying here, she would seize the one and only possibility to deal with the Shadow of Gluttony.
“Uwaaah!”
The Shadow of Gluttony let out an extremely repulsed shriek and slammed its palm into Elizabeth’s body, sending her flying.
“Damn it…”
Elizabeth crashed onto the Sea of Blood, feeling as though every bone in her body was about to shatter.
But this was not the time to cry out in pain.
She struggled back to her feet and immediately checked the Shadow of Gluttony’s condition.
The Shadow of Gluttony clutched its head. The darkness enveloping its body had receded somewhat, it was no longer as dense.
That meant Elizabeth’s gamble had succeeded. She had peeled away part of the Shadow of Gluttony that was attached to Xia Yi. This method of combat was viable.
“Ugh, ”
But before she could feel even a moment of relief, Elizabeth spat out a large mouthful of black, viscous liquid that could barely be called blood anymore.
To erode the Shadow of Gluttony, she had paid a horrific price. The aura of the Beast of Gluttony had completely destroyed her internal organs.
Even part of her divine halo lost its light, permanently damaged, cracked through.
If she continued to invoke the Blood Divine Authority for erosion, she would lose the ability to use her divine halo altogether and forfeit the Blood Divine Authority.
The volume of blood in the Sea of Blood was drastically reduced once more.
Were it not for the unique traits of the Vampire Clan, she would have already perished here.
Yet even knowing she would pay an unbearable price, Elizabeth did not hesitate for even a moment. She launched yet another self-destructive assault against the Shadow of Gluttony.
“Divine-Era Blood Magic · Crimson Extreme Punishment!!”
Elizabeth summoned thirteen blood spears, sending them all surging toward the Shadow of Gluttony.
The Shadow of Gluttony flew into a rage and shattered every blood spear, only to realize that Elizabeth herself had vanished.
Whoosh!
From the Sea of Blood beneath the Shadow of Gluttony’s feet, a blood spear erupted upward, it was Elizabeth’s surprise attack.
“Gugyaaaahhh!”
The Shadow of Gluttony swung its arm, shredding the blood spear and severing Elizabeth’s arm along with it.
Elizabeth used her remaining arm to make contact with the Shadow of Gluttony’s body.
Infected by the aura of the Legendary Beast, bloody tears streamed from her eyes.
She healed herself using the Sea of Blood, and as the sea level continued to drop, she once again unleashed the Blood Divine Authority.
“Blood Divine Authority · Erosion!”
The divine halo of the Vampire Ancestor dimmed continuously, the cracks upon it spreading at a speed visible to the naked eye.
