Volume 4 Chapter 1
by Need_More_SleepVolume 4 + Chapter 1: Home At Last, Xia Yi
Dragon Kingdom, I’m back!
Standing on the main street of the Northern Royal Capital, Xia Yi couldn’t help but voice such a feeling.
Thinking carefully, it had already been several months since she left the Dragon Kingdom.
This was the first time she had ever traveled far on her own.
Before, in such circumstances, either Serra or Lucia would always be accompanying her.
But this journey to the human world was something she had completed all by herself.
During these months, without contacting the Dragon Palace, she had already begun to miss Xia Lulu…
“No, no!!”
Xia Yi quickly shook her head.
“Because Xia Lulu must definitely be missing me terribly! After all, if I were absent from the Dragon Palace for so long, she certainly wouldn’t be able to sleep from missing me, maybe even crying herself to sleep every day!”
Mm, yes, it had to be like that.
Hmph hmph, when the time comes and she sees Xia Lulu, she definitely has to tease her well.
That girl Xia Lulu had never once suffered a setback before her.
Before, in her confrontations with the Silver Dragon Queen, it was always she who had the upper hand.
This time, everything would be different!
“At that time, I’ll hide away and secretly watch Xia Lulu. I’ll wait until she cries, then jump out and laugh at her properly!” Xia Yi resolved in her heart.
Her anticipation grew stronger in her heart.
There were others too~
For example, Serra—she had taken care of her for so long, and suddenly leaving for such a long time, she must also have found it rather difficult.
And that little fool Elly, always clumsy every day, messing up all sorts of things—if not for Xia Yi always covering for her, she would’ve been driven out of the Dragon Palace long ago!
And the great “genius”…
At that thought, Xia Yi quickened her steps, heading toward the gates of the Dragon Palace.
The Northern Royal Capital was crowded with dragons, it could be called the most prosperous area in the north.
Dragons were everywhere.
Originally, Xia Yi had wanted to keep a low profile when returning to the Dragon Palace. She had even tried her best to avoid the gazes of others—yet she was still discovered.
“It’s actually Her Highness the Princess!!”
A dragon girl spotted Xia Yi.
After all, silver hair and silver eyes—this feature was far too conspicuous.
At present in the Dragon Kingdom, there were only two silver dragons, one was the Silver Dragon Queen Xia Lulu, and the other was the Silver Dragon Princess Xia Yi.
“Your Highness the Princess, it’s truly been so long since we last saw you!” That dragon girl hurried to Xia Yi’s side.
Why did she look so familiar…
Oh!!
Now she remembered—the other party was the proprietress of a dessert shop in the capital.
“Your Highness the Princess, it really has been such a long time since you last visited our shop… Oh, right, Your Highness, here, please take this and try it!”
That dragon girl went back into the shop and quickly came back out, shoving a cake into Xia Yi’s hands. It was a slice of Black Forest cake, looking quite delicious.
“Thank you!”
Xia Yi showed a sweet smile.
She had just wanted to take a bite, but halfway as she raised her fork, she froze.
Wait!!
No, this wasn’t right!
By her image, she should be a lofty and untouchable dragon sovereign of terrifying might. Why then, upon seeing her, did the other not show the expected fear but instead wanted to feed her?!
“You, you…!”
Xia Yi put on a very angry face.
The dessert shop owner froze.
Hmph.
Xia Yi smiled.
It seemed the shop owner was too scared to think straight.
Even without releasing the Dragon King’s pressure, just a glance could shake the soul.
Now, do you understand my terror?
Under my supreme majesty, submit!
“Your Highness, do you not like this one? It’s alright, I still have others!” The shop owner immediately produced some freshly baked cookies. “These have just come out of the oven—they’re our secret trump-card creation!”
“I…”
Why isn’t she afraid of me?!
Xia Yi felt strange—why was she still thinking of feeding her?
In other people’s eyes, what kind of image did she even have?!
“Wow! It’s Her Highness the Princess!”
“No way, the Princess is visiting in disguise among us!”
“What, really?!”
Very soon, other dragons noticed Xia Yi, gathering around.
Yet, in place of the fear and submission Xia Yi had anticipated, the dragons of the capital kept pushing things into her hands.
“Your Highness the Princess, this is for you! It’s our latest designed pillow!”
“Your Highness, this is a best-selling manga we imported from another country, you’ll definitely like it!”
“Your Highness, please accept this! It’s the newest drink we’ve developed, called ‘Shut-in Happy Water’!!”
Surrounded by dragons, it didn’t take long before Xia Yi’s arms were full of all sorts of things, her eyes starting to swirl in confusion.
And in their gazes toward her—there wasn’t the slightest trace of fear…
Too much!
Xia Yi summoned the Rose Staff and struck it against the ground.
Whoosh!
Thick smoke burst forth, obscuring the dragons’ vision in an instant.
By the time the smoke cleared, only a pile of gifts was left—while the silver-haired little girl was nowhere to be seen.
…
“Damn it… To think you all would look down on me like this. Just wait—someday, I’ll make you realize my terror!”
Xia Yi said angrily while munching on the dessert shop’s secret trump-card cookies.
Although she left behind most of the gifts, she had still taken some food.
After all, she had no reason to go against food, right~
“Mm? This tastes pretty good. Next time, I’ll definitely have to visit the shop and enjoy myself properly!”
With the previous lesson learned, Xia Yi was more cautious this time.
But still, very soon, rumors spread of her appearing in the Northern Capital.
Now she had to seize every second—before the news reached Xia Lulu’s ears, she had to hurry back to the Dragon Palace, or else her surprise would be ruined.
When Xia Yi arrived at the gates of the Dragon Palace, the guards saw her and stared in shock, eyes wide.
“Her Highness the Princess…?!”
“Mm!”
Xia Yi nodded.
Just as the guards seemed about to say something, she anticipated it and cut them off ahead of time.
“Alright, you don’t need to say anything, you don’t need to do anything. Just pretend you never saw me!”
“But…”
“No buts! That’s an order!”
After issuing the gag order, Xia Yi left the dumbstruck guards behind and passed through the gates of the Dragon Palace.
Once she returned to this familiar place, the little princess felt joyful, as though there was nowhere else in the world that could make her feel so safe.
But after walking for quite some distance, she realized something strange.
From her initial joy at returning home, her mood shifted to puzzlement.
“Huh, what’s going on? Why haven’t I seen any familiar faces along the way? Where’s the royal maid corps, where did they all go?”
