Volume 3 Chapter 189
by Need_More_SleepVolume 3 + Chapter 189: Beep Beep
Golden particles fell into the bodies of the humans present.
Everyone’s spirits were instantly lifted.
“This feeling is…!”
Biden suddenly no longer felt soreness in his back or pain in his legs. Magic surged ceaselessly within his body. He felt an overwhelming urge to unleash it all and, under the lead of the Human Sword Saint, fought against the mutated beasts.
He could barely hold back as he raised his staff, circulating his mana, preparing to cast a spell at the mutated beasts.
“I’m gonna blast them!!”
This change didn’t just happen to Biden, it appeared in others as well.
“I will avenge Teacher Kyle!!”
“Drive calamity out of the human world—leave not a single one!”
“Fight! Fight! Humanity must fight!!”
Among them, the most dramatic change was in Albert.
After receiving the golden particles from the Human Sword Saint, he seemed like a completely different person—from trembling with lingering fear at first, to now becoming a bare-chested hot-blooded warrior.
He gripped his twin swords as his muscles swelled.
This feeling was strangely familiar, as though he had returned to those days in Golde, the Seaside City, hearing some mysterious call. An unstoppable impulse rose in his heart, overwhelming even human emotions—an impulse that towered above all else.
Today was the same—he felt endless power surging forth once more—
Burst out!!
“Haaah!!”
Albert roared loudly, crossed his twin swords, and launched the first charge toward the calamity legion.
“Shadowstorm Sword Aura!”
An astonishing scene unfolded—Albert swung his twin swords like a meat grinder on the battlefield, sword aura sweeping through the monster horde. Wherever it passed, mutated beasts were decapitated without fail.
Clearly, before the calamity struck, when Biden led Laurel Tree Academy’s top students outside the city to scout, Albert had to put in serious effort just to defeat one mutated beast.
But now, he was like an unstoppable war god, wielding sword aura as though mowing grass.
This scene once again inspired the human forces, and everyone quickly joined the battle.
“Arcane Barrage!!”
Biden compressed magical energy, and after his chant, he fired it like cannon shells in rapid succession.
He, too, was like a different person.
Before, he had been driven to flee in panic by calamity, watching helplessly as monsters slaughtered countless humans.
That humiliation had built up for too long—it all needed to be released.
“Blow them apart—I’ll blow you calamity monsters to bits!!”
The Human Archmage’s Arcane Missiles exploded among the monster horde, blasting mutated beasts into pieces—limbs and flesh flying through the air, a spectacular sight.
Hill refused to fall behind. As a Sword Saint’s student, how could she meekly stand aside? As long as she hadn’t fallen, she would fight. She picked up her weapon once more and began slaying enemies.
The horn of humanity’s counterattack had officially sounded.
“So this is…the function of the Armor of the Human King? Amazing.”
Xia Yi watched Laurel Tree Academy’s counterstrike and couldn’t help but sigh with emotion.
Others might not know, but she did—these humans had all been strengthened by the Armor of the Human King, their power enhanced.
And this was only one function of the armor. If it were the true divine authority of the Human King, granting divine blessing to humanity…
Now she completely understood why humans in the mythic age possessed the power of higher beings.
Meanwhile, on the calamity’s side—
Right now, command of calamity has fallen to the witch, Saphia.
But Saphia was pinned to the ruins by the holy sword. Holy Sword Gram was stabbed through her body, suppressing her with its aura.
Thus, the witch couldn’t command the calamity army.
They became like a headless horde.
Combined with the boost granted to humanity by the Armor of the Human King, the tide of battle completely reversed. The humans were now purging calamity.
Everyone present fought desperately. Those unable to fight tended to the wounded or cheered in support.
Except for the False Sword Saint.
He knelt on the ground with his head bowed, eyes lifeless, as if everything had been lost—utterly shattered. No one cared about him anymore.
Xia Yi certainly didn’t pity this guy.
Hmph, serves you right—for impersonating me and flaunting everywhere!
“Lord Sword Saint!!”
Biden came running over to Xia Yi.
“I have a request—may I speak it?”
“…Eh?”
Xia Yi was stunned.
This old geezer, speaking to her so politely and humbly?
Before, he loved to pick fights over nothing, but now his politeness felt unnatural to Xia Yi.
Cough, cough, cough.
Right, right—I’m the Human Sword Saint now!
After adjusting her mood, the Human Sword Saint said: “What is it, Mr. Biden…sir?”
“How about we immediately restore the Infinite Rainbow Magic Array? Under your leadership, everyone’s rekindled their fighting spirit—but the calamity army is far too numerous. If we can restore all four sub-arrays of the Infinite Rainbow Magic Array, we can greatly speed up wiping them out!” Biden explained his idea.
“Can it be restored?”
“Trust me—the Infinite Rainbow Magic Array was improved by my own hand. I have a way to restore it quickly!”
“Alright, let’s do it. I leave it to you, Mr. Biden.”
“No problem!”
Biden nodded and began regrouping forces to break through.
It was a risky task, but the first to step up was Albert.
Albert’s courage once again inspired others. Many were willing to follow him and help carve a path.
“Albert, lead everyone and charge the magic array again!!” someone shouted.
“Charge! Charge!! Charge!!!”
Albert raised his swords and gave a firm, ringing reply with just three words—then led a group to break through using sword techniques.
This left Xia Yi puzzled. Albert’s response to her rallying cry was far stronger than the others’, as was his power boost. Why was he so special? Could it really be because of that calamity incident in Golde?
Xia Yi had once linked to the Black Tide’s collective will, touching calamity’s intent—and Albert had nearly become part of the Black Tide back then…
…
The battle was nearing its end.
Through humanity’s fierce efforts, the four sub-arrays had been restored, and the Infinite Rainbow Magic Array struck the calamity army once more—forming a crushing advantage.
Now it was cleanup, and after the battle ended, next would likely be the witch’s judgment.
“It’s over.”
Xia Yi retrieved the holy sword.
The witch fell from the ruins’ wall face-first, raising a cloud of dust.
“Teacher, we’re about to win! The calamity monsters are being wiped out—this is humanity’s victory!”
Hill ran back, excitedly reporting to her teacher.
“Mm, then—”
Finally, there was a chance. The Human Sword Saint was about to speak to Hill when—suddenly, her words stopped.
Beep beep! Beep beep! Beep beep! Beep beep! Beep beep!
Inside the Armor of the Human King, Xia Yi froze. What the hell was that noise?
Why was the Armor of the Human King beeping nonstop??
“Teacher, why did you stop talking?” Hill asked in confusion.
A bad feeling rose in Xia Yi’s heart. Could this be…
An alarm?
Not good—the Armor of the Human King’s possession state was about to be forcibly lifted!!
