Volume 5 Chapter 102
by Need_More_SleepVolume 5 + Chapter 102: The Final Lesson
The little fox leapt down from the Feiyan train, unleashing a thunderous slash that carved a massive sword mark into the earth.
She revealed herself before everyone, leaving all present utterly stunned.
“Her Highness Yue Liu… has finally returned!!”
From the Restoration Army’s side, the soldiers erupted into a wave of overwhelming cheers.
“Your Highness Yue Liu, that really is Her Highness Yue Liu!” Fenghua clutched the city wall, leaning forward as he shouted excitedly.
The fox clan soldiers, facing Yue Liu, fell into a dilemma, unable to advance or retreat.
They had always been loyal to the fox clan’s royal family, yet now they were being forced to raise their blades against the sole heir of the Nine-Tailed Fox lineage, an unbearable contradiction.
“Impossible, why has she come back?!”
Senluo cursed furiously.
“This is completely different from what Lady Miko told us! Why does the False God Miko still possess such power?!”
Before setting out, Senluo had received word from Bai Lian,
The False God Miko’s power had already been sealed away; she had become useless and posed no threat whatsoever.
Yet judging from the current situation, she was anything but useless, Yue Liu’s strength had grown even more formidable than before.
“Soldiers, I thank you all. While I strove to break the seal, you fought to buy me time. Now, my power has been fully restored, and even surpassed its former peak!”
The little fox turned toward the Restoration Army and raised the blade Sakura Moon high into the air.
“Soldiers, roar! Soldiers, cry out! Soldiers, charge forward with me!!”
“OHHHHHH!!!”
The Restoration Army, whose morale had sunk to its lowest point, saw their long-awaited princess descend like a savior, how could they not be exhilarated?
Yue Liu reignited the fighting spirit of every soldier, driving them all into a state of fervent passion.
Every soldier of the Restoration Army raised their weapons, responding to the little fox with their loudest voices.
“Could it be… Her Highness the Princess has returned as well?”
Karami looked up into the sky, searching for Xia Yi’s figure.
He spotted the Feiyan train hovering above.
“Mr. Karami, let’s go welcome Her Highness the Princess together!” said Elly, disguised as a silver-haired dragon loli, to Karami beneath her.
“Mm, alright!”
Karami flapped his wings and soared into the air, carrying Elly with him as they flew toward the Feiyan train.
“So, you’ve arrived.”
Xia Yi stepped out from the train, a gentle smile on her face.
“Your Highness the Princess!!!”
Elly dispelled her disguise, reverting to her original form, a green dragon maid.
“You returned just in time, we were almost unable to keep up the act!”
Following Xia Yi’s orders, Elly had disguised herself as Xia Yi, pretending to command the battle.
In reality, most of the dragon clan had been injured during the fighting in Taoyuan Village and had yet to recover, leaving them with little combat strength.
Their efforts had mainly been a facade, to divert the White Night Cult’s attention and lure all their forces toward Shuiyu City, buying time for Xia Yi and the little fox to act at the sealing site.
Judging by the outcome, the plan had been a complete success.
“You’ve all worked hard. The plan succeeded, Yue Liu has gained the ability to counter Bai Lian’s illusions,” Xia Yi said. “From here on, we can leave it to her.”
“Mm, understood!” Elly nodded.
“Your Highness the Princess truly has everything under control,” Karami remarked with admiration.
At this point, the dragon clan was no longer the protagonist of the battlefield.
The one who would decide the course of the battle… was Yue Liu.
“Fox clan army, listen well!”
The little fox turned toward the fox clan’s forces.
“All of you have been deceived by the White Night Cult! They colluded with the ministers of the fox clan’s imperial court, setting a trap to assassinate both me and my father! My father, in protecting me, was taken under their control, and I myself only escaped death with the aid of the dragon clan, barely escaping their clutches!”
“This…?”
The fox clan soldiers grew even more confused.
“Do not listen to the False God Miko’s words, she is deceiving you!” Senluo roared. “Fenghua, what are you doing? Give the order to the archers immediately, fire and cut off her lies!!”
“Lord Senluo… are Her Highness Yue Liu’s words true?” Fenghua asked, seeking confirmation.
“The military seal I bear represents the will of the Fox Emperor. To eliminate the rebels and purge the False God Miko is his command. Fenghua, do you intend to defy orders?!”
Senluo raised the military seal and rebuked him harshly.
“N-no, I wouldn’t dare…!”
With the seal revealed, it was as though the Nine-Tailed Fox Emperor himself had arrived. Fenghua immediately dropped to one knee and lowered his head.
“Then what are you hesitating for?” Senluo demanded.
“I…”
Fenghua found himself torn between two choices.
He felt that the Nine-Tailed Fox Emperor had become deeply strange.
The ruler who had always doted on his daughter issuing an order to hunt down Princess Yue Liu, it was simply inconceivable.
This general, who commanded the fox clan’s army, had already begun to suspect Senluo.
“Warriors of the fox clan! I know each of you carries a sincere heart to defend your homeland. Yet the White Night Cult has exploited your passion to fulfill its own schemes. If Fox Hill falls into their hands, it will spell irreversible ruin!”
The little fox’s voice reached the heart of every fox clan soldier.
“See the truth clearly, do not allow yourselves to be used any longer. Come to my side and fight to save the fox clan!”
“Could what Her Highness Yue Liu says be true?”
“I also feel that the Fox Emperor has been acting very strangely…”
“How could the Fox Emperor possibly allow the White Night Cult to run rampant across Fox Hill, burning, killing, and plundering?”
The fox clan soldiers began to waver.
“Damn that False God Miko… now the army’s morale is destabilizing…”
Senluo suddenly thought of someone, a piece still capable of stopping Yue Liu at a moment like this.
He walked to the edge of the wall and shouted down toward a shadowed corner below.
“It’s your turn to take the stage!”
“…”
In the corner, a figure holding a weapon stirred, silently moving toward the city gate.
The gates creaked open. At once, a fierce killing intent spread outward, sending a chill through the fox clan soldiers on the battlefield, their bodies trembling instinctively as they parted to form a path.
The figure stepped from shadow into sunlight, cutting through the crowd as he advanced toward Yue Liu.
By sheer presence alone, he split the sea of people in two, forcing silence upon all.
“This is…!”
The little fox sensed a familiar aura. Following it, she needed only a single glance to recognize who it was.
The fox clan’s great swordmaster, Bai Yang, strode forward with killing intent etched across his face. A sharp gleam shone in his eyes as he looked upon his disciple, tightening his grip on his weapon.
“Yue Liu… it’s time for your final lesson.”
