Only after making sure everything was clean did he let Xu Xinghe sit down. Lu Hanchuan took out the textbooks from his backpack and arranged them neatly in front of her.
Then he reached under the table again and held her small hand. Their seats were in the back, so they didn’t have to worry about being seen.
Xu Xinghe let him do as he pleased. She wasn’t worried about the elementary school curriculum. She was more worried that Lu Hanchuan might fall behind.
After all, he had never been to school before. Xu Xinghe didn’t know how well Lu Hanchuan would do academically.
She leaned close to Lu Hanchuan and whispered, “Brother Ah Chuan, if there’s anything you don’t understand, you can ask me.”
Hearing this, Lu Hanchuan nodded. Then in the middle of class, he openly stared at her in a daze.
Xu Xinghe was already used to this gaze, but Lu Hanchuan wasn’t satisfied with just looking at Xing Xing. He wanted Xing Xing to look at him too.
Pouting, he took the textbook from Xu Xinghe’s hand. When she finally looked at him, he gave the book back.
Xu Xinghe had no choice but to sneak glances at him when the teacher wasn’t looking and secretly pinch his cheek.
The bell rang for the end of class.
A boy from the aisle seat walked over. He looked fair and clean. “Hello, my name is Zhou Yuhang.”
He extended his hand, wanting to shake hands with the pretty girl.
Xu Xinghe glanced up at him, but before she could respond, a pair of hands held her face and turned it away.
Now all she could see in front of her was Lu Hanchuan. His little face was cold, and he glared at Zhou Yuhang with a frown. A chill seemed to radiate from him.
“Mm, Brother Ah Chuan.” Xu Xinghe struggled to free her face from Lu Hanchuan’s hands.
Zhou Yuhang was oblivious. He didn’t notice Lu Hanchuan’s dislike for him at all. He scratched his head and laughed. “Haha… you two have such a good sibling relationship, unlike my sister and me. We start fighting the moment we see each other.”
Thinking of this, Zhou Yuhang turned into a chatterbox. He kept complaining about his sister. “My sister isn’t nearly as cute as your sister. She’s really mean…”
Lu Hanchuan felt as if an annoying mosquito was constantly buzzing by his ear, which was annoying.
Xu Xinghe looked at this chatterbox, Zhou Yuhang. So someone could use magic to beat magic. Lu Hanchuan was completely silenced by this endless stream of words.
In Lu Hanchuan’s world, when someone spoke, you had to let them finish. But this person in front of him, why couldn’t he finish?
Lu Hanchuan felt his worldview being refreshed. He waited and waited. Finally, his mouth stopped!
Lu Hanchuan was just about to tell him to go away when the bell for the next class rang.
Zhou Yuhang let out an “Eh,” then went back to his seat. He felt that he hadn’t even gotten to say everything he wanted. Why did break time always pass so quickly?
Lu Hanchuan’s face was so dark it could drip ink. Sitting beside him, Xu Xinghe was practically dying from holding back her laughter. Her shoulders were shaking.
Lu Hanchuan looked at Xing Xing who was laughing at him with a hurt expression. “Bad Xing Xing.” After muttering this under his breath, his hand reached under the table and held her small hand again.
Xu Xinghe mischievously wrote and drew on a piece of paper with one hand.
Then she pushed the finished drawing on Lu Hanchuan’s desk.
Lu Hanchuan looked down in confusion. On the paper was a chibi version of him, his cheeks puffed up in anger, and there was a large red anger symbol over his head.
Lu Hanchuan felt even more wronged. He wasn’t like that at all. Bad Xing Xing, always teasing him.
Then he folded the drawing and carefully tucked it into his pocket. When he got home, he would have Butler Lin frame it.
