Chapter 73 – The Yandere, Autistic Young Master’s Sister
by Salted FishThe Yandere, Autistic Young Master’s Sister (2)
Auntie Wang took Xu Xinghe by the hand and led her to a door. She crouched down, patted her head, and said, “Xing Xing, don’t be afraid. The Lu family are all very nice people.”
Xu Xinghe blinked her big eyes and nodded firmly. “Okay, thank you, Auntie Wang!”
Before Auntie Wang could knock on the door, footsteps sounded from inside. Then the orphanage director scooped her up and carried her inside.
Xu Xinghe smiled sweetly and waved at Auntie Wang through the crack in the door.
The director wasn’t surprised to see Xu Xinghe. To her, it didn’t matter whether it was Bai Tianzhen or Xu Xinghe. Since the Lu family was willing to invest in Sunshine Orphanage, anyone would do.
The director set Xu Xinghe down. “Mr. Lu, Mrs. Lu, this is Xinghe.”
Xu Xinghe looked at the elegantly dressed couple, then at the little boy sitting behind them. His gaze was fixed only on the Rubik’s cube in his hands, never leaving it for a moment.
He looked very pale and somewhat thin, dressed in a well-fitted little suit. He had a pair of peach blossom eyes. Even at such a young age, one could tell he would grow up to be extremely handsome.
He was Lu Hanchuan, the male lead of this world.
The Lu couple noticed that Xu Xinghe kept looking at their son. A hint of a smile appeared in their eyes. Then Mother Lu took her small hand and led her in front of Lu Hanchuan.
“Xiao Chuan, this is your little sister Xinghe.” Mother Lu patted Xu Xinghe’s head. She really liked this little girl. Perhaps it was just fate.
Lu Hanchuan slowly put down the Rubik’s cube. His indifferent eyes swept over his mother, then Xu Xinghe beside her.
Then his eyes wouldn’t move away. There was confusion and curiosity in them.
This obvious reaction caught Mother Lu off guard. “Xiao Chuan really likes this little sister.”
At Mother Lu’s teasing words, Lu Hanchuan’s gaze shifted back to her. He didn’t understand what his mother meant by “likes.” He just wanted to keep looking at her. Was that liking?
Xu Xinghe slowly let go of Mother Lu’s hand. Her other hand still held the half-eaten candied hawthorn stick. She took small steps until she stood in front of Lu Hanchuan’s sofa.
“Brother Xiao Chuan, do you like candied hawthorn? Xing Xing can share it with you.” Xu Xinghe’s eyes curved into crescents, sparkling with what seemed like brilliant starlight.
Mother Lu looked at the half-eaten hawthorn stick, wanting to say something but stopping herself. She wanted to say that Lu Hanchuan, that little rascal, would never eat her leftovers.
But she was also afraid of hurting Xu Xinghe’s feelings. Mother Lu could only hope that Lu Hanchuan would prove her wrong, though she knew even that was a wish.
Lu Hanchuan looked at the candied hawthorn in front of him with some confusion. He seemed a little puzzled. Then under the shocked eyes of Father Lu and Mother Lu, he took it.
Lu Hanchuan took the hawthorn stick but didn’t eat it. He just held it in his hand and stared blankly at her. In his world, he couldn’t understand this kind of gesture.
Under the shocked eyes of Father Lu and Mother Lu, Xu Xinghe raised her hand, placed it over Lu Hanchuan’s, and went “Om” as she ate a piece of the hawthorn.
Lu Hanchuan widened his big eyes and looked at her mouth. That red candy was in her mouth now. So was she asking him to eat it?
Lu Hanchuan brought the candied hawthorn to his lips to test it. Confirming that she wasn’t stopping him, he also opened his small mouth and imitated her action. With a sound, he ate a piece.
Father Lu and Mother Lu watched this scene and felt an urge to cry.
The two little ones just ate like that, one piece for you, one piece for me. Father Lu and Mother Lu had actually been considering adopting a child for a long time.
Mother Lu had injured her body giving birth to Lu Hanchuan and couldn’t have any more children. Then Lu Hanchuan was diagnosed with autism. The couple was in despair for a long time.
Now seeing Lu Hanchuan finally willing to interact with Xing Xing, they couldn’t be happier.
