Chapter 124 – The Ancient Yandere’s Doll (End)
by Salted FishThe Ancient Yandere’s Doll (End)
Xu Xinghe watched as Murong Jin stopped in front of a courtyard she had never visited before. He suddenly turned and looked into her eyes.
“Xing Xing, you can’t hate me.” Murong Jin looked at those clear golden eyes. He was afraid of seeing disgust directed at him in them.
Xu Xinghe was extremely confused by the question. Why would she hate him?
“I don’t hate you, I like Ah Jin.”
Hearing those words, Murong Jin finally relaxed his stiff body. Since Xing Xing said she liked him, she was not allowed to leave him.
Even if she regretted it later, he would never give her the chance to leave.
It wasn’t until Murong Jin led her into a room that had clearly been remodeled that Xu Xinghe suddenly understood why he had asked that question earlier.
Xu Xinghe’s lips parted slightly in surprise. She looked at the enormous golden cage before her. She couldn’t even imagine how much gold it must have taken to build this.
The golden cage was obviously specially modified. The entire floor was covered in carpet. The most extravagant part was the massive bed inside, which was twice the size of the one in Murong Jin’s room.
Murong Jin had been watching Xu Xinghe closely since they entered the room. When she remained silent for a long time, he thought she was disgusted by him and didn’t even want to speak to him anymore.
Panic seized his heart instantly. His hands gripped her shoulders firmly. “Xing Xing… you promised me. You can’t hate me.
“Xu Xinghe looked helplessly at Murong Jin, who looked like he was about to cry. She just didn’t expect him to give her such a huge surprise…
“Ah Jin, don’t cry. I don’t hate you.” She reached out to wipe away a tear at the corner of his eye, coaxing him softly.
Murong Jin didn’t actually want to cry, but he was scared that Xu Xinghe would hate him.
Afraid that Murong Jin wouldn’t believe her, Xu Xinghe took the initiative to hold his hand and lead him into the golden cage.
Under Murong Jin’s disbelieving eyes, she closed the cage door behind them.
“Xing Xing… you…” Murong Jin’s eyes were still red. Seeing Xu Xinghe act this way left him at a loss.
Xu Xinghe gently rubbed his hair. His long black hair was incredibly soft.
Murong Jin lowered his head slightly to make it easier for her, and his mind was filled with wild guesses.
“Ah Jin, if you want me to live here, then I’ll listen to you. Is that alright?”
Hearing Xu Xinghe indulge him so completely, Murong Jin’s heart trembled uncontrollably. Why did she have to spoil him like this? It would only make him worse…
Murong Jin didn’t dare speak. He could feel his nose stinging. If he talked now, his voice would definitely crack.
He was a man after all. How could he cry in front of Xing Xing?
Xu Xinghe could feel his body trembling. She figured her little crybaby was probably tearing up again, but she didn’t call him out on it.
She simply patted his back gently until his emotions settled down.
“Ah Jin, this cage must have cost a lot of gold, didn’t it?”
Hearing Xu Xinghe’s question, Murong Jin finally lifted his head from her neck. “A thousand taels… of gold.” He glanced at Xu Xinghe with a hint of guilt.
He had asked Cheng Jingran to design and build the cage. The Cheng family was highly skilled in construction and business, and Cheng Jingran happened to owe him a favor.
Cheng Jingran had also recently gotten engaged to the woman he loved, and Murong Jin even had a lot of gifts sent to the Cheng family.
Back then, Cheng Jingran was curious and asked him why he was building such a large golden cage. It took Murong Jin a long time to reply.
“To hide my treasure.”
Xu Xinghe was stunned when she heard a thousand taels of gold. She knew that Murong Jin was wealthy, but she didn’t realize he was this rich.
He had even moved several chests of gold a few days ago, saying they were for her. She asked him how she was supposed to spend it since she never went out.
What did Murong Jin say?
He said she could throw it around for fun, and when it was gone, just ask him for more.
“Ah Jin, this cage is beautiful. How about we live here together?” Xu Xinghe suggested, looking at the spacious cage.
“Okay.” Murong Jin immediately pulled Xu Xinghe into his arms and nodded. He couldn’t have asked for anything better.
When they finally came out from the golden cage, the sound of firecrackers and gongs filled the air without end.
For the past several days, Murong Jin had been pestering her about getting married, saying that Cheng Jingran had already gotten married and he couldn’t fall behind.
Of course, Xu Xinghe knew all his little schemes. What else could she do but indulge him?
On the wedding day, Murong Jin’s heart pounded like thunder. He had double-checked and triple-checked to make sure nothing would go wrong.
Watching Xu Xinghe walk towards him in her red bridal gown, Murong Jin trembled with excitement. Xing Xing was finally his wife.
And also his own doll, and his alone.
[The End]
