Chapter 42: Oh, Then Let’s Begin
by WuWangChapter 42: Oh, Then Let’s Begin
The next morning, when Louis got up to wash up, he surprisingly discovered that the two lazy girls had actually made breakfast today!
When they saw Louis come out, the sisters raised their voices and began talking grandly about their cooking skills.
Louis had almost forgotten about this matter, but hearing them discuss cooking suddenly reminded him that breakfast was something specifically written into the agreement by Helen and Ocris.
“Hmph, Louis, big sister has recently taken a liking to cooking, lucky you,” said Helen as she carefully glanced at Louis. It had a bit of a “burying one’s head in the sand” feeling.
Ocris held a book titled “Yordle Cooking Guide,” hiding her face behind it while secretly observing Louis’s expression—if he still remembered what happened last night, she would never be able to face anyone again!
“Oh,” Louis casually uttered an “oh,” then sat down and started eating.
Seeing Louis’s “clueless” look, the two sisters sighed in relief.
“Uh, teacher…”
Seeing that Louis seemed to have a question, the two sisters shuddered and looked at him nervously.
“Never mind, I think I forgot,” Louis shook his head.
In the end, Helen couldn’t hold back: “L-Louis, w-what did you forget? Was it, did you have that kind of dream again last night?”
“Ah, it seems like I did have a strange dream,” saying this, Louis looked up and glanced at Ocris.
Ocris quickly hid her face in the book.
“D-did you sleepwalk or something? I-I mean, like suddenly finding yourself (‘ahem, ahem, ahem’).” Just as Helen spoke halfway, she was interrupted by Ocris.
Why bring up the sore subject! Do you have to remind Louis that he learned Apparition? I finally managed to hypnotize him successfully last night! If he remembers and says he’ll show you, how will you respond?!
Noticing that her sister had pinched her hard, Helen also realized the issue and quietly started eating her breakfast.
“A dream? Hmm, it seems like I did dream, but I don’t remember,” Louis said blandly, spearing a piece of bacon with his fork and putting it in his mouth.
This “don’t remember” made Helen and Ocris’s hearts leap with joy—it seemed the hypnosis spell worked well! Today was the final day! Foolish Louis was done for!
Little Helen’s face lit up with a smile, and she started to act cocky. Ocris crossed her legs and swung the slipper on her foot. From the smug looks they exchanged, it seemed they were ready to execute Plan A, almost like “forgetting the pain once the wound heals.”
Louis ignored them. After finishing his meal, he went back to his room, put on his coat, walked to the door to put on his shoes, and it looked like he was about to go out.
“Huh? Today is Saturday, little Louis, where are you going? It’s a rest day,” Ocris said with a smile. “Don’t come back too late; Helen is going to demonstrate Apparition this afternoon.”
Helen hadn’t learned this trick yet, but Ocris planned to cheat. She was afraid that if they delayed too long, something might go wrong, and she wanted to settle this matter during the day.
“Ah, going out for a bit, have some things to do,” Louis said as he left.
Not long after, Louis returned.
“Hey, little Louis~ back so soon,” Ocris had just finished discussing the cheating plan with Helen and was feeling quite smug.
She looked at the new nails she had done just yesterday and said with a smile, “Helen can’t wait anymore, let’s start quickly.”
Helen puffed out her little chest, looking very proud—with her sister’s Artifact, it would definitely be fine.
“Oh, okay,” Louis responded and sat on a chair.
Then, he pulled out a washbasin and a label sticker from his extended bag, and sat there writing on the label.
Seeing that washbasin, the two sisters were instantly stunned. Anxiously, they lifted themselves up, leaned over in front of Louis for a look, and saw Louis writing a line on the label: For Ocris & Helen Only (Foot Washing Basin).
Then, Louis stuck the label onto the basin.
After that, he took off his socks. Looking at Helen and Ocris, he said, “Let’s begin.”
Ocris: “…”
Helen: “…”
“S-Sir Louis, I-I mean, that, that…” Ocris stood up, feeling dizzy. She stopped swinging her slipper, stopped calling him “little Louis,” and stopped looking at her nails. All she could think about now was what happened last night.
Clearly, Ocris found it hard to accept for the moment and was too ashamed to face anyone. She picked up her bag and left. “I have something to do, need to go to the library… the Laboratory.”
Before leaving, Ocris gave Helen a determined look, clenched her fist encouragingly, and said, “Go for it, Helen. I’ll be back in a few days… wait for me.”
After saying that, Ocris Apparated away.
It seemed the two sisters were planning to execute Plan B.
Louis turned and looked at the “impatient” Helen.
“Uh, ah, wu…” Helen immediately opened her mouth in despair, almost crying.
Sister, you can’t abandon your little sister like this!
You can’t escape for more than two days either!
What made Helen even more desperate was that the moment her sister left, Louis revealed his “big bad wolf” face, looking at her with a fierce grin.
“Helen, you’ve been quite cocky these past couple of days. How’s that joke book coming along?”
“Wuwuwu, Louis, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have angered you. Don’t make me wash them, or I’ll never be friends with you again. Your feet are too smelly (‘Hmm?’)… wuwuwu, please, I’ll do anything you want.”
Louis glanced at Helen, put on his coat, and walked out the door. “I’ll deal with you tonight.”
He had an appointment with a Goblin in the afternoon that he needed to attend. It seemed there were only two Goblins left. Yesterday, Barriff called saying his friend had a very strange, big matter—they needed to go on a business trip to the Muggle World!
But temporary workers couldn’t go to the Muggle World, so Louis first asked Barriff to write a letter of praise to the Ministry of Magic to resolve the temporary worker issue.
Barriff readily agreed to this matter and mentioned he would give a small gift afterwards to cover expenses for Louis and Helen during their trip. It seemed Muggle money was paper currency, and the Ministry of Magic currently didn’t allow Wizard currency to be exchanged for Muggle currency.
According to the appointment, these two Goblins under the Evil God’s Curse one had time this week, and the other next week. Once this was settled, the matter of turning the temporary position into a permanent one would probably be finalized.
He heard the Muggle World had Vintage Cars and biplane gliders. This year after school started, there seemed to be some sort of Wizard World Cup, with different schools coming. Louis planned to participate; he hadn’t bought a magic carpet or broomstick yet. But Louis thought Vintage Cars and airplanes would also work.
He didn’t know how much extra money he could make from this business trip, or how much biplane gliders and Vintage Cars cost, but as long as the Magic Spell was strong enough, even a brick could fly into the sky.
Sharp-angle turns wouldn’t be a problem either.
Louis was incredibly excited.
…
When Louis came back for dinner in the evening, Helen had actually prepared dinner—ordered in advance.
It seemed that the moment that basin appeared, the two sisters had completely settled down.
Ocris holed up in the Laboratory that very day, not daring to come home. Meanwhile, the previously cocky Miss Helen also started pretending to be a pitiful little kitten.
She began trying to please Louis, even preparing a nice dinner for this purpose, just hoping the bookworm Louis wouldn’t be so socially unaware—always leave some room!
Clearly, she overthought it.
After finishing the meal, looking at the six pairs of smelly socks Louis tossed into the basin, Helen was close to tears—this guy had been saving them for seven days. Yesterday’s was just one of them.
She looked pleadingly toward the sofa in the Living Room behind her, but unfortunately, no one was sitting there.
That awful sister!
She hadn’t come back yet.
She abandoned Helen!
What to do? The despicable big bad Louis finally, finally went after the poor little kitten, wuwuwu…
“Wuwuwu, Louis, please, let me do something else. I’ll listen to anything you say…”
Helen wiped her tears and begged for mercy.
“That depends on your performance,” Louis put his tooth cup and toothbrush on the cabinet, wiped his mouth, hung the towel over his shoulder, and then walked out of the Washroom.
Immediately after, under Helen’s watchful eyes, he Apparated step by step from the far left of the Living Room to the far right, then from the far right back to the far left.
In a flash, Louis moved faster and faster, until a row of his afterimages appeared in the Living Room. Helen stared dumbfounded.
This big liar!
He had already known Apparition!
And used it so well! Even better than Sister!
Seeing Helen’s dumbfounded expression, Louis chuckled. He planned to gradually reveal his “Seal.”
The “play” with Ocris these past days was actually just to let her reasonably believe that his strength was natural—Sister Stia.
After this, he only needed to find some stepping stones to gradually become famous and rise as “Louis VI.”
Otherwise, how could he achieve great things while being held back?
[From this day on, the person who could rival the “Mysterious Man” gradually began to show his talent…]
