Chapter 115 – The Ancient Yandere’s Doll

Peony laughed in anger at her words. She had saved someone out of the goodness of her heart, only to be bitten back.
“Fine! Call me blind. If you want to leave, pay me back for the dress I bought you.” Peony glared back just as fiercely. The dress she gave her had cost half a month’s wages.
She originally planned to just let it go, but she didn’t expect this girl to be a mad dog who bit everyone she met.
Zhou Yuran immediately slammed the bed and stood up. “How much! It’s just a dress, I’ll give you ten back!”
Her wardrobe was overflowing with cloud-patterned brocade and silk dresses. She couldn’t possibly be short of money for one dress for this shameless woman.
With that, Zhou Yuran angrily reached into her pockets and found absolutely nothing. Only then did she remember that she had been reborn.
Peony let out a mocking laugh. “No silver, and you’re putting on airs? When I found you, you didn’t have a single scrap of fabric on you.” She gestured dramatically in the air.
Zhou Yuran’s face turned dark, and she was too furious to speak for a moment.
Seeing she was angry, Peony shook her head smugly, which only made Zhou Yuran even more breathless with anger.
…
Xu Xinghe was being led by the hand through the courtyard by Murong Jin. This was the first time she left the room since she arrived here.
Murong Jin had completely renovated the entire courtyard. It was magnificent and elegant. The back garden was filled with roses and elegant pavilions, with a pond running through it.
Looking across the water, the distant buildings looked like a painting. The pavilion over the lake was tied with countless red silk ribbons, fluttering gently in the breeze.
Murong Jin held Xu Xinghe’s hand as they sat in the courtyard, one arm around her waist and the other holding her cloak.
Watching her explore the yard with such curiosity, a satisfied smile never left Murong Jin’s lips.
“Ah Jin, come push me on the swing!” Xu Xinghe called out to the dazed Murong Jin from the slightly tall swing.
Murong Jin immediately walked over and dutifully began pushing. He had dismissed everyone else in the yard, so now it felt as if the whole world held only him and Xing Xing.
“Haha…” The yard echoed with her bell-like, cheerful laughter. “Ah Jin, higher!” Xu Xinghe spread one arm wide and did not forget to urge the person behind her.
Murong Jin felt dissatisfied. He could only watch Xing Xing.
Just as Xu Xinghe was having fun, she suddenly felt an arm tighten around her waist. She fell into a familiar embrace.
“Ah Jin, do you want to play too?” She thought that after pushing her for so long, maybe he wanted a turn, so she asked in confusion.
Murong Jin let out a helpless sigh. Xing Xing was such a silly doll. What to do? Well, there was only one way and that was to pamper his doll.
When she didn’t get a response, Xu Xinghe started squirming out of his arms. Under Murong Jin’s increasingly dark expression, she then pressed him down onto the swing.
Murong Jin was about to grab the unruly little doll back when a soft weight landed on his lap.
Xu Xinghe sat down contentedly on Murong Jin’s thighs. She was really a genius. “Now we can play together!” She smiled and looked back at Murong Jin behind her.
Murong Jin was frozen stiff by this damn position. Xu Xinghe was wearing a pear-blossom green light-sleeved silk dress today, with long snow-white beaded tassels on the hem trailing slightly on the ground.
Murong Jin’s red robe mingled with her green skirt, looking inseparable, just like the two of them in this moment.
“Ah Jin, higher!” Xu Xinghe tilted her head back, wrapped her arms around Murong Jin’s neck, and whispered softly in his ear.
Murong Jin only felt his throat go dry. At this close distance, he could clearly see her slightly parted red lips, which were glistening.
He wanted to kiss her…
Xu Xinghe tilted her head and looked at Murong Jin, who was clearly spacing out. She lifted her clear eyes and asked, “Ah Jin?”
Murong Jin snapped back to reality, his face instantly turning red. “Mm.” He answered in a low voice, but his eyes darted away. He didn’t dare look into her eyes.
Combining the place he had been looking just now with the familiar blush on his face now, Xu Xinghe seemed to guess what Murong Jin had been thinking.
“Ah Jin, do you want to kiss me?”
Hearing Xu Xinghe’s words, Murong Jin saw her staring straight at him with those round, watery eyes. Caught off guard, he was flustered and at a loss.
Would Xing Xing think he was too frivolous?
