Chapter 113 – The Ancient Yandere’s Doll
by Salted FishThe Ancient Yandere’s Doll (13)
The servant set down the cloud-patterned brocade dress and left.
Only after Murong Jin was certain that the footsteps outside had faded away did he open the door and bring the dress inside.
His cautious appearance made Xu Xinghe both amused and exasperated.
He didn’t want anyone else to discover Xing Xing. She could only be guarded by him alone, like a “treasure.”
Carrying the dress in his hands, Murong Jin hurried to Xu Xinghe’s bedside and asked, “Xing Xing, take a look. Do you like it?”
After asking, he looked at her nervously.
“If you don’t like it, I’ll have them make a new one right away!” Murong Jin’s expression darkened. Seeing that Xu Xinghe hadn’t answered yet, he grew anxious and moved to throw the dress away.
“Wait!” She quickly reached out and pressed down on his hand. “I like it.”
She didn’t expect such a strong reaction from him. Just because she had responded a little slowly, he was about to throw away such a beautiful dress.
Hearing this, a smile returned to Murong Jin’s face, and all his dissatisfaction with the servants vanished instantly. “Good, as long as you like it.”
He placed the dress at Xu Xinghe’s bedside. Although he would have preferred to help Xing Xing change, she would probably be scared if he did.
He could only step outside for now. The moment the door closed behind him, the smile on his lips vanished instantly.
He leaned his back gently against the wooden door and waited in silence. He didn’t like not being able to see Xing Xing.
Murong Jin’s ears moved slightly. He could hear the soft rustling of clothes from inside the room.
The image of Xu Xinghe’s face appeared in his mind, and his eyes grew deep and dark.
Inside, Xu Xinghe spent a long time studying the dress. The layers upon layers of fabric were very complicated.
Finally, after much effort, she managed to put it on.
She called out to the wooden door. “Ah Jin! I’m dressed.”
Murong Jin had already sensed that the sound of dressing had stopped. He was becoming anxious from the wait. Upon hearing her voice, he immediately pushed the door open and walked inside.
Xu Xinghe was startled by the thud of the wooden door hitting the wall. She stared blankly at Murong Jin as he strode towards her.
The next moment, she was enveloped in a warm embrace. Murong Jin’s muffled voice sounded in her ear. “I miss you…”
Xu Xinghe blinked her clear, beautiful eyes and said in a sweet and soft voice, “Ah Jin is such a clingy person. Then from now on, will Ah Jin help me change?”
She could feel Murong Jin’s body stiffen for a moment after she said this, followed by his chaotic heartbeat.
Even through their clothes, she could feel his body temperature rising.
Murong Jin still couldn’t believe what he heard. When he finally realized it, his dark eyes lit up, and his arms unconsciously tightened around her.
“Xing Xing… you’re so good to me.” So good that he wanted to lock her up forever, so that she would belong to him alone.
He didn’t dare say the rest out loud. He didn’t dare take that gamble.
Xu Xinghe let out a soft laugh, snuggled into his arms, and said coquettishly, “I’m only good to Ah Jin.”
Murong Jin felt that this must be the most moving confession he had ever heard in his life.
“Mm.” He rested his head against her neck and responded in a low, muffled voice.
“Don’t lie to me, or I’ll die of heartbreak…” As he said this, Murong Jin’s voice sounded pitiful, the corners of his eyes faintly reddening.
But the strong possessiveness in his eyes was almost impossible to hide. How could Xu Xinghe not notice it?
She stood on her tiptoes slightly, her finger tracing the corner of Murong Jin’s eye. His red-rimmed eyes gave him a striking, fragile beauty. He looked like a painting that had come to life.
“I won’t lie to Ah Jin. If I do, I’m a puppy, okay?” Her voice was sweet and soft, with a languid drawn-out lilt at the end.
A smile tugged involuntarily at the corners of Murong Jin’s mouth. He liked it when Xing Xing coaxed him like this. It made him feel like he could act spoiled and get away with it.
