Chapter 106 – The Ancient Yandere’s Doll
by Salted FishThe Ancient Yandere’s Doll (6)
Recently, Murong Jin had become particularly obsessed with her hair. But his hands were clumsy, and he just couldn’t braid it well.
“Doll… I did a bad job.” Murong Jin looked dejectedly at the crooked braid. He clearly remembered how it was supposed to be done, but when he actually tried, it turned out not to be so easy.
Xu Xinghe wanted to say it was okay, but obviously she still couldn’t speak yet.
Not getting a response didn’t discourage Murong Jin. Instead, he pulled the doll over to the dressing table and kept practicing.
The dressing table was also custom-made by him. The doll fit on it perfectly, while his own tall body could only kneel on the floor.
He had a lot of small pieces of furniture made in his room. What was once an empty space was gradually being filled with the doll’s things.
The little dresses he had custom-made in the doll’s size were ready today. Because they had never made clothes this small, the workers had been especially slow.
They wondered why anyone would want such tiny dresses, using the finest Shu brocade no less, and demanding thirty dresses in various styles within three days.
Although it was a bit tiring, the payment was just too generous. The workers worked overtime without a single complaint and finally finished on the third day.
Murong Jin’s brows softened as he looked at the box full of dresses. “Leave them at the door. This is your tip.”
He casually took out a handful of silver and handed it to one of the men.
The man’s face lit up with joy as he stared at the large handful of silver in his hand. He quickly thanked him, “Thank you… thank you, young master!”
After making sure everyone had left, Murong Jin bent down and effortlessly carried the box into what he now considered their room.
By now, Murong Jin believed this was the room for him and his doll.
Seeing the doll sitting obediently on the small soft couch waiting for him, Murong Jin set the box aside.
He couldn’t wait any longer and pulled the doll tightly into his arms, gently nuzzling his head against her.
“How is it that I miss my doll even after being away for just a moment?” Holding the doll, the corners of Murong Jin’s mouth curled into a satisfied smile.
“Doll, come look at the little dresses I bought for you. Do you like them?” Murong Jin carried the doll over to the box.
He took each dress out one by one and held them up against the doll’s body. “You said you like them, didn’t you, doll?” A bright smile instantly appeared on his face.
Murong Jin was excited and was about to change the doll’s dress. But as he reached out to take off her little dress, he suddenly felt a bit shy.
“Doll… may I change your dress for you?” Murong Jin asked, his face slightly flushed. “If you don’t answer, that means yes.”
Murong Jin changed the doll into a red gauze dress. It was the same color as the one he was wearing and made from the same material too.
This thought made Murong Jin even happier. He liked it when the doll wore matching clothes to his because the doll belonged to him.
Xu Xinghe glanced helplessly at Murong Jin, who had been holding her without letting go. He ignored the servant knocking at the door.
“Young Master Jin, Young Master Chen Jingran is waiting for you at the gate.”
Hearing the servant’s words, Murong Jin’s brows gradually furrowed with impatience.
Chen Jingran had grown up with him. Their residences were only half a street apart. He had always been mischievous. Back when Murong Jin had nothing better to do, he would accompany him to tea houses or play chess.
Over time, their relationship became quite good. At least, Murong Jin considered Chen Jingran a decent person.
But recently, for some reason, Chen Jingran had become obsessed with going to brothels. Murong Jin knew that the Chen family had been declining in recent years, and he was willing to help him out occasionally.
Murong Jin thought he should try to talk some sense into him, so he could only set the doll down and gave her one last reluctant look.
Chen Jingran was sitting casually in the courtyard pavilion. When he saw Murong Jin finally come out, he grinned and immediately went up to him.
“Brother Murong, what have you been so busy with lately? I’ve been asking you out for tea every day, and you keep turning me down.” Chen Jingran pretended to be hurt, clutching his chest and giving Murong Jin a pitiful look.
Murong Jin had long grown accustomed to his unserious behavior. He coldly cut off his act. “How much silver do you want this time?”
Chen Jingran looked a little embarrassed at being caught. He scratched his head and said, “I just came to see you.”
Murong Jin pretended not to understand and nodded. “Now that you’ve seen me, you can go back.” He then turned around to leave.
Of course, Chen Jingran wasn’t about to actually let him leave. What was face worth? How much could face even buy?
“Hehe… Murong, you really do understand me best. Thirty taels~” Chen Jingran lowered his head, looking slightly embarrassed.
Without a word, Murong Jin took another gold ingot from his money pouch and handed it to him. Seeing Chen Jingran staring blankly at him, Murong Jin let out a soft sigh.
“The pleasure quarter is not a good place. It’s better not to go.”
