“Yet just then, the Demon King arrived unnoticed!”
As the narrator finished, the background music suddenly turned eerie and ominous. A young figure in a black robe quickly stepped onto the stage. When the spotlight hit the youth’s face, both Ouyang Qianxue and Duan Haichen were astonished!
“Bai Yuxuan?”
They exclaimed in unison.
“Wow! It’s student council president Bai Yuxuan playing the Demon King! The cast for this stage play is just too star-studded!”
Seeing Bai Yuxuan take the stage, the audience buzzed.
“But I think Bai Yuxuan’s aura is really suited for the Demon King. After all, he’s usually so cold and domineering, if anything, the Demon King role is tailor-made for him.”
“And besides, such a Demon King is really handsome too!”
Many girls swooned. It had to be said, Bai Yuxuan was after all Sakura Academy’s number one school heartthrob. Compared to the hero played by Duan Haichen, the aloof Demon King Bai Yuxuan actually made the female members of the audience’s hearts flutter more.
“Senior Ouyang, what is Bai Yuxuan doing here? Is he here to cause trouble?”
Duan Haichen stared daggers at Bai Yuxuan and said to Ouyang Qianxue.
“Whether he’s here to cause trouble or not, we have to keep performing. The drama club members have put in so much hard work these past two days. We can’t let the stage play fail because of us.”
“Yes!”
Duan Haichen replied, and then continued acting according to the original script. But now, his gaze toward the Demon King was filled with even more hostility than during rehearsals.
“Ha, I like that look in your eyes. That look of hatred. Now, I am going to take the princess away right before your eyes!”
Bai Yuxuan’s smile was extremely wicked. She reached out to grab Qianxue, but Duan Haichen stepped in front of Ouyang Qianxue.
“Evil Demon King! Now that I, the hero, have been summoned, how can I tolerate you running wild any longer? Today, I will defeat you right here!”
Duan Haichen pointed his prop iron sword at Bai Yuxuan and declared.
“You say you’re going to defeat me? I’m so scared. Haha.”
In response to Bai Yuxuan’s mockery, Duan Haichen swung his sword at her.
But Bai Yuxuan merely leaned back slightly to dodge the slash, then sent Duan Haichen crashing to the ground with an elbow strike.
“Duan Hai… Hero! Are you all right!”
Ouyang Qianxue hurriedly rushed over to check on Duan Haichen’s injuries.
“Hey, Bai Yuxuan, that’s not what the script says! This is where the hero and the Demon King wound each other. And why are you actually using force?!”
Ouyang Qianxue helped Duan Haichen up while reproaching Bai Yuxuan.
“Because this is more fun. What, are you feeling sorry for him?”
With that, the corners of Bai Yuxuan’s mouth curled into a long, wicked arc, but her eyes looking at Duan Haichen were full of hostility.
“You are just too cruel!”
Ouyang Qianxue punched at Bai Yuxuan. Bai Yuxuan merely stepped back lightly and dodged.
“Damn you! Don’t run if you’ve got guts!”
Ouyang Qianxue chased after her. But no matter how he attacked, Bai Yuxuan easily evaded.
“Never mind how much that princess gown restricts you, your attacks are as naive as you are. Always charging straight in.”
Bai Yuxuan’s expression was completely at ease.
“Don’t get cocky!”
Ouyang Qianxue continued chasing after her.
“Hey! This plot is way too novel! The princess is actually fighting the Demon King one-on-one to protect the hero! A beauty saving the hero scenario!”
“Wow, a fight scene between the school beauty and the student council president, this is a rare sight!”
“And don’t you think their fighting looks really serious? Like it’s real.”
“Excellent! Absolutely excellent!”
Watching the hand-to-hand exchange between Ouyang Qianxue and Bai Yuxuan, the audience applauded enthusiastically.
“I’d like to play with you a little longer, but it wouldn’t be good to let your wounds open up again.”
With that, Bai Yuxuan took advantage of an opening in Qianxue’s attack, tripped him, and let him fall right into her embrace, holding him tightly.
“Bai Yuxuan, what are you doing! This is so embarrassing! Let me go!”
Ouyang Qianxue struggled desperately in Bai Yuxuan’s arms.
“Hmph, if you don’t want to ruin this stage play and waste everyone’s hard work, behave yourself.”
Bai Yuxuan whispered quietly into Ouyang Qianxue’s ear.
“Let her go! If you’ve got guts, come at me!”
Duan Haichen climbed to his feet and glared at Bai Yuxuan with furious eyes.
“Come at you? A cowardly hero like you who lets a woman fight for you isn’t even worth my time to play with. On the contrary…”
Bai Yuxuan lowered her head and gently licked Ouyang Qianxue’s exposed shoulder.
“Ah~! What are you doing, you jerk!”
Feeling the wet touch of a tongue on his shoulder, Ouyang Qianxue cried out in shock.
“You bastard!”
Seeing Bai Yuxuan humiliate Ouyang Qianxue like this, Duan Haichen was beside himself with rage. He drew the prop iron sword from his waist and slashed at Bai Yuxuan.
“Hmph, finally getting serious?”
With that, Bai Yuxuan gently pushed Qianxue aside.
“Ha!”
Duan Haichen brought his sword down, but Bai Yuxuan caught the blade directly with her hand.
“Admirable courage. But your strength is still lacking.”
Bai Yuxuan drove her knee into Duan Haichen’s abdomen.
“Guha!”
The powerful impact sent Duan Haichen to his knees.
“Let me tell you why you are so weak.”
Bai Yuxuan patted Duan Haichen’s shoulder.
“It’s because your desire to protect her isn’t strong enough!”
At those words, Duan Haichen trembled slightly.
“Not yet…”
Enduring the pain in his abdomen, Duan Haichen slowly rose.
“It’s not over yet!”
He charged at Bai Yuxuan again, swinging a punch. Bai Yuxuan nimbly avoided it and spun around to strike his shoulder with a knife-hand chop.
Duan Haichen staggered, dropping to one knee. But after only a moment’s pause, he stood up again and threw another punch at Bai Yuxuan. Bai Yuxuan sidestepped slightly, gave him a light trip, and sent him down again. Yet before she could turn around, Duan Haichen was already up and rushing at her once more.
“Hero, keep going!”
Watching Duan Haichen fall and rise again and again, many in the audience began cheering for him.
“Initially, I was just jealous that you’ve been clinging too close to Qianxue lately. But I can’t bully you too much, or Qianxue will hold it against me.”
This time, facing Duan Haichen’s fist, Bai Yuxuan did not dodge. She let him punch her in the abdomen. Only after landing the blow did Duan Haichen slowly collapse.
“Now that the hero has fallen, let me enjoy the delicious princess.”
Bai Yuxuan walked toward Ouyang Qianxue.
“Wh-what are you going to do!”
Watching Bai Yuxuan approach, Ouyang Qianxue had a bad feeling.
