Volume 3 + Chapter 2: New Members of The Student Council

“Th-that… that’s Sakura Academy’s number one beauty, the school queen, Ouyang Qianxue?”

Only after a long moment did a freshman finally speak, his voice trembling.

A blonde “girl” had stepped onto the stage. The black silk stockings and the short female school uniform skirt perfectly accentuated her model-like figure, highlighting every elegant curve. Her snow-white skin gave off a pure and delicate aura, while her exquisitely refined features were utterly mesmerizing. Yet the most captivating of all were her glass-like, shimmering eyes, just one glance from them made the hearts of the boys in the audience feel as if they might stop beating. At that moment, everyone present felt as though, having seen Ouyang Qianxue, they had seen all the beauty in the world, as if every charming and lovely element of existence had been gathered into this one girl before them.

“Is that really a level of beauty a human can achieve? Are you sure she’s not some kind of fairy or spirit?”

“Only now do I realize how limited my imagination of beauty has been!”

As one freshman said this, the entire hall erupted into thunderous cheers from the boys.

“Ugh… how can someone as beautiful as Senior Ouyang even exist in this world? If I could have just one-tenth of her beauty, I’d die without regrets!” a girl said enviously.

“Please quiet down, everyone.”

At that moment, Ouyang Qianxue raised the microphone and addressed the freshmen below.

“Since the principal and President Bai Yuxuan have already explained the school rules in detail, I won’t repeat them. I believe many of you have your own interests outside of academics. At Sakura Academy, we provide a place for you to develop those talents, that place is the club system. Next, I will explain some of the rules regarding clubs.”

“Hey, don’t you think Senior Ouyang and Senior Bai Yuxuan make a perfect match? Their looks, grades, abilities, everything matches so well. Do you think they might…?” a few first-year girls whispered excitedly.

“That’s impossible!”

Before they could finish, the girl with the pink headband standing in front of them turned around and interrupted sharply.

“Those two are famously sworn rivals. They’ve been desk mates since last semester, yet after an entire term, they barely spoke more than a few words to each other. Not only do they compete fiercely in academics, but they’re just as unyielding in student affairs.”

“Ouyang Qianxue, as the president of the three most powerful clubs, represents the highest interests of the clubs, while Senior Yuxuan, as student council president, manages the daily affairs of Sakura Academy’s students. They represent entirely different interests, so naturally, they stand on opposing sides.”

“Near the end of last semester, there was even a major conflict between the clubs and the student council. The two of them held a public debate, each defending their respective sides.”

“So who won?” the freshmen asked eagerly.

“Ouyang Qianxue won, but only by a narrow margin.”

“Does that mean Senior Ouyang is stronger than Senior Bai Yuxuan?”

“Not at all. At the time, Senior Yuxuan had already dissolved the previous student council, so he stood alone. The debate was decided by a student vote, and Ouyang Qianxue had a far greater network of support, giving her a clear advantage. I even snuck in to watch that debate, purely in terms of argument, I actually think Senior Yuxuan’s points made more sense.”

“I see…” the freshmen murmured in realization.

Meanwhile, on the stage.

“President Ouyang, since the freshmen still need to collect their textbooks and orientation guides afterward, please limit your speech to within two minutes.”

While Ouyang Qianxue was still delivering her address, Bai Yuxuan suddenly interrupted.

“Understood.”

Ouyang Qianxue promptly concluded her speech within two minutes and stepped down from the stage.

“That Bai Yuxuan is too much! He actually shortened your speech in front of the freshmen, he was clearly trying to humiliate you!”

“Exactly! He must still resent losing that debate to you, so he’s using such underhanded tactics to get back at you!”

As soon as Qianxue stepped down, three vice-presidents from his clubs gathered around him, speaking indignantly on his behalf.

Yet Ouyang Qianxue merely smiled faintly, offering no comment on the matter.

“Compared to that, we should focus on this year’s club recruitment,” Qianxue said calmly to the three of them.

“About that, we expect many freshmen will join because of you, so we’ve decided to only accept those who possess talents that align with our clubs.”

“Besides talented individuals, I also hope you’ll recruit students who are genuinely interested in club activities,” Qianxue replied.

“Got it. By the way, you’ve been going to the hospital every day to change your bandages, right? You should head there early. Leave the clubs to us these next few days!”

“Alright, thank you. With you all here, I feel at ease. I’ll be going now.”

“Come on, no need to be so polite between us. Just go.”

“Mm.”

With that, Qianxue walked out of the auditorium. As he stepped outside, he immediately spotted Bai Yuxuan, standing there with a faintly mischievous smile.

“By the way, you made me end my speech early because you were worried about me standing too long, weren’t you? You really are the same as always, so completely incapable of being honest.”

“Hmph. You’re one to talk, you never care about your own health. You just got discharged, and yet you insisted on forcing yourself to give that speech!”

“Well, the teachers asked me to. And if it can inspire the freshmen, isn’t that a good thing?”

“Honestly… you should care more about yourself,” Bai Yuxuan muttered, clearly dissatisfied.

“Then should we chat a bit longer? There’s still some time before the ceremony ends. No one should come out here just yet…”

“Forget it. You should go change your bandages. We’d better not talk too much on campus, someone might see us.”

After saying that, Bai Yuxuan turned and headed toward the student council office.

“What an unstraightforward guy… you were clearly waiting outside the auditorium all along.”

After glancing at his departing figure, Qianxue left the school grounds and took a bus toward the hospital.

Meanwhile, after the opening ceremony ended, four freshmen did not rush to their classrooms. Instead, they headed straight to the door of the student council office. The one leading them was none other than the girl with the pink headband.

“Senior Yuxuan, we’re here!” she called as she knocked on the door.

“Come in!”

After Bai Yuxuan responded, the four entered one by one.

Once they were lined up, Bai Yuxuan stood up.

“I’ve been waiting for you. There’s no need for introductions, you’re all the outstanding subordinates I personally trained in middle school. Now, a new stage has been prepared for you. Let me see how much you’ve improved over the past year.”

“Yes!”

The four of them responded in unison.
