Volume 4 + Chapter 12: Arriving At A New School

“Qianxue, this is the new school that President Wang has arranged for you.”

At that moment, in front of a private school in the capital, a woman in a western-style suit was explaining relevant information about the school to Ouyang Qianxue. After about five minutes, the woman glanced at her watch.

“Sorry, Qianxue, I have some other matters to attend to, so I must leave first. If you have any further questions, you can directly contact the school’s academic director, she is an acquaintance of President Wang’s.”

“Mm, thank you.”

After bidding farewell to the contact person arranged by Wang Shiman, Qianxue walked into the school.

Yet, the moment he stepped through the school gates, a sudden sense of déjà vu washed over him. More than half a year ago, he entered Sakura Academy just like this.

Recalling Sakura Academy brought back the image of Bai Yuxuan, tears streaming down her face, begging him not to leave before his departure, a desperate expression as if he had taken everything from her. Especially in the final instant before Bai Yuxuan lost consciousness after being drugged by him, she was still reaching out toward him with all her might.

At that thought, a deep sense of self-reproach surged into his heart, causing a dull ache within him.

Besides Bai Yuxuan, Qianxue’s feelings of guilt also extended to the good teachers and friends at Sakura Academy, as well as the junior members of the clubs. They must already know that he had left Xijiang by now, right? Would they be terribly sad? But after all, this was the path he had chosen. When he initially concealed his gender to enter Sakura Academy, he should have foreseen this outcome.

“So this time, I will not enter anyone else’s heart again!” Qianxue clenched his fist and declared.

Meanwhile, in a secluded corner of this school, several girls with curled hair and cigarettes dangling from their lips were surrounding a short, timid-looking girl.

“Yo, where are you rushing off to in such a hurry? Trying to avoid your sisters, are you?” The leading girl spat her cigarette butt to the ground and asked the girl in front of her.

“You’ve really broken our hearts. We’ve always treated you as a friend, yet you keep avoiding us. Do you even consider us friends at all?” Before the short girl could reply, another delinquent girl cut in.

“N-no, that’s not it! I’m definitely not avoiding you! I do see you as friends…” The girl lowered her head as she spoke, making her already small frame appear even more fragile.

“If you really see us as friends, then show some sincerity. We sisters are a bit short on cash lately, so why don’t you lend us some money to spend?”

“But didn’t you just ask me for money two days ago? And you’ve never paid back any of the money you borrowed.” The girl trapped in the middle spoke timidly.

“Oh? So many complaints just for asking you for a little money? Who do you think you are? All day long, you just play nice in front of teachers and boys. We’ve been fed up with you for a long time. Today, we’re going to teach you a lesson! And while we’re at it, we’ll make sure you understand who calls the shots in this school!” With that, the delinquent girl ordered her companions to grab the girl’s arms, raised her hand, and prepared to slap her across the face.

Seeing the delinquent’s raised hand, the restrained girl squeezed her eyes shut in terror. But just as the delinquent was about to deliver the slap, she suddenly felt someone bump into her from behind.

Because it happened so suddenly and she lost her balance, the leading delinquent was knocked forward and fell heavily to the ground.

“Big sis!” The other delinquent girls quickly helped their leader to her feet. Only after being helped up did the leader regain her senses. She glared viciously at the person behind her who had bumped into her and hurled abuse.

“Who the hell are you? How dare you bump into me?”

Hearing the delinquent’s angry shouts, the short girl also opened her eyes and looked forward. But when they all saw that girl, they were completely stunned.

The girl before them had dazzling golden long hair cascading down to her slender waist. Her skin was fair and delicate, like peach blossoms, and her exquisite features were so beautiful that one might doubt whether she was a celestial maiden descended from heaven. However, at that moment, her expression was icy cold.

“Are you saying I bumped into you?” Since the others were too stunned by Qianxue’s appearance to speak, Qianxue was the first to break the silence.

“Yes! You must be tired of living, daring to knock into me like that? Look at what you’ve done to my face!” The leading delinquent finally snapped out of it upon hearing Qianxue’s voice and pointed at her own face, which had a small scratch.

Faced with the delinquents’ accusations, Qianxue looked utterly disdainful. He had heard everything they had just done. He had always despised this kind of bullying of the weak. And given what Qianyue had gone through not long ago, there was no way he could stand by and do nothing.

“Oh, so I did bump into someone. But with that stench on you and a waist thicker than a barrel, I almost thought I’d knocked over a trash can. You know, I was really scared, because as someone with such a sense of civic duty, I’d have to pick that trash can back up, which would inevitably get my hands dirty. But luckily, I didn’t expect that trash can to stand up on its own. Still, a trash can is a trash can, even if it takes human form, the moment it opens its mouth, it still reeks of garbage.”

“What did you say?” The leading delinquent was furious at Qianxue’s words. She lunged at Qianxue’s face, claws out.

“Think you can act all high and mighty just because you’ve got some looks? I’ll turn you into a scratched-up cat today!”

However, before the leading delinquent’s hand could even touch Qianxue’s face, her wrist was firmly gripped by Qianxue. With a slight squeeze, the delinquent immediately grimaced in pain.

She couldn’t understand how this slender, golden-haired girl could have such strength.

“What are you all standing there for? Hurry up and help me!” Realizing she was no match for the golden-haired girl, the leader called out to her companions.

The other girls immediately swarmed in to attack Qianxue. But they never imagined that Qianxue was someone who had once taken on three grown men single-handedly and rescued his idol from them. These few delinquent girls were nothing in his eyes.

Qianxue simply shifted his body slightly to dodge their punches and kicks, without even moving his feet from where they stood.

“Alright, I won’t play with you anymore today. Otherwise, I’ll be late for registration.” With that, Qianxue exerted force, using the wrist of the leading delinquent to swing her like a weapon into another delinquent. The other girl didn’t react in time, and their heads crashed hard into each other.

They felt a wave of dizziness. Another girl, refusing to accept defeat, tried to sneak up from behind while Qianxue was dealing with the other two. But before she could make a move, Qianxue spun around and delivered a side kick, stopping his foot right in front of her eyes.

“Scram!” With a single sharp rebuke from Qianxue, the group of delinquent girls scattered and fled in terror.
