Volume 6 Chapter 77
by Golden DragonVolume 6 + Chapter 77: Too Pure
“None of you are to touch her!” A woman shielded herself in front of Xia Yi.
“This is…?”
After getting a clear look at this person, Xia Yi was very surprised.
Was it actually a dragon?
Tall, with an impressive figure, striking looks, quite young, and with long green hair, this was clearly a green dragon.
Seeing this green dragon woman, Xia Yi’s first thought was of Elly.
But upon closer inspection, her appearance was quite different from Elly’s.
At least she didn’t look much like her, there was no dazed quality about her, instead, she seemed quite shrewd and capable.
Seeing a fellow dragon from her homeland out here made Xia Yi a bit happy.
“Oh my, isn’t this Miss Qiu?”
“Miss Qiu, the pastries you made yesterday were delicious. After I brought them home, my daughter said she absolutely loved them!”
“Miss Qiu isn’t wearing her work uniform today. Are you on break?”
The onlookers were in high spirits. Clearly, this green dragon big sister named “Qiu” had a certain reputation in Molent.
Xia Yi caught a few key words.
Pastries…?
She recalled that the human uncle she met outside the city had mentioned that there was a dragon in Molent who ran a pastry shop with booming business. It seemed Qiu fit that description perfectly.
“Qiu, are you planning to obstruct official business?”
The security patrol squad leader was quite displeased.
“This silver dragon has violated the regulations and must come with us!”
“Regulations? What regulations?”
Qiu did not back down in the face of the squad leader’s harsh questioning.
“Is it really that serious?”
“She is suspected of using counterfeit coins to pass as Gio!” the squad leader replied.
“Kids don’t know any better. She was just playing around.”
“Playing around?”
“Yes. Don’t be so serious. You’re a grown man, is it really necessary to make things difficult for a little sister?” Qiu replied. “She was only joking, and you suddenly got so stern, even talking about sending her to jail. You scared her so much she couldn’t even stammer out a word.”
“Hmph, rules are rules. Besides, she was trying to dine and dash!”
“Dine and dash? There’s no dine and dash.”
“She wasn’t going to pay!!” the restaurant server shouted. “I tried to communicate with her, told her to call her family to come pay, but she just wouldn’t listen!”
“What are you talking about? Isn’t her family right here?” Qiu replied.
“Family? Where? I don’t see anyone,” the server said, confused.
“Here. This should be enough.”
Qiu took out local currency and placed it on the table.
The amount was more than enough to cover Xia Yi’s meal.
“What do you mean by this?” the squad leader asked, puzzled.
“I’m her family. She’s my little sister, fresh from the countryside. There’s a lot about city life she doesn’t understand.” Qiu suddenly made an unexpected statement.
Xia Yi wondered why Qiu, whom she didn’t even know, would say such a thing.
Suddenly, Qiu gave her a meaningful glance as a hint.
Xia Yi immediately understood, she wanted Xia Yi to play along?
Since a fellow dragon was willing to help her out of a jam, she had no reason to refuse, it would save her a lot of trouble.
“Boo hoo, Sister Qiu, these people are so scary… they frightened Xia Yi…”
Xia Yi ran into Qiu’s arms, put on a face as if she were about to cry, and started acting, while revealing her name subtly in a cutesy tone.
She played the role of a soft, cuddly, behaving in a spoiled manner-loving loli to a tee.
Ha, as expected of me, I’m so amazing!
The little princess was quite pleased with herself.
“There, there, don’t be scared. Sister Qiu is right here.”
Qiu comforted Xia Yi while looking at the server.
“So this isn’t considered dining and dashing anymore, is it?”
“Well…” The server hesitated.
“What’s the matter? Can’t I even pay for my little sister’s meal? Unless your restaurant no longer accepts Gio.”
“Uh… as long as you pay.”
The server had nothing more to say. The crux of the issue had been resolved.
“She’s your sister? They don’t look alike at all. One’s white, one’s green.” The squad leader’s cheek twitched.
“A distant cousin, isn’t that allowed? My sister’s been in the countryside all this time. I finally brought her to the city to see the sights. There’s a lot she doesn’t understand. She’s very pure. Look at that untainted gaze, don’t you see a kind of innocent beauty?”
“I’d call it clear-eyed foolishness! Country bumpkin causing a ruckus. Qiu, keep an eye on your sister. Don’t let her cause trouble everywhere. This is the last time!”
The squad leader put on a bit of a stern face, but in the end, this was a minor matter not worth taking too seriously. He led the security patrol members away.
Thanks to Qiu’s intervention, the matter was temporarily settled.
“Xia Yi, shall we go home?” Qiu held out her hand to Xia Yi.
“Okay, Sister Qiu~”
Playing the part all the way, Xia Yi took the green dragon big sister’s hand under everyone’s gaze and left the restaurant.
…
Under Qiu’s guidance, Xia Yi indeed arrived at a pastry shop.
The sign outside said it was closed today for rest.
Qiu opened the door with her key, and they went inside together.
With no one else around, Qiu’s expression relaxed. Now they could speak openly.
“Are you okay?”
“Yes. Your name is Qiu, right?” Xia Yi politely thanked Qiu.
“Call me big sister.”
“…Why?!”
“Call me big sister. I’m older than you.”
“I’m not young! I’m seven… seven hundred years old!!” Xia Yi said, feeling a bit guilty.
“You’re not seven hundred. Don’t joke with me.” Qiu found Xia Yi amusing.
“I’m, I’m just a little… late blooming!”
Xia Yi’s face turned red as she stammered, then changed the subject.
“Anyway, if you hadn’t been there earlier, those guys might have actually arrested me.”
“Call me big sister, otherwise I won’t talk to you.”
“Ugh… fine, Sister Qiu.” Xia Yi felt helpless.
“That’s better!”
Qiu laughed.
“Your name is Xia Yi, right? As you can see, I’m the owner of this pastry shop in Molent, Qiu.”
“Sister Qiu is a dragon, right?”
“Yes. It’s rare to see one of my own kind in the city, and when I did, she was being harassed, so I stepped in. I don’t know if those coins you used are currency from somewhere else, but in Molent, only Gio is accepted.”
“I had no idea this would happen…”
Xia Yi sighed.
“Anyway, thank you.”
“Hehe, Xia Yi, haven’t you heard? There’s no such thing as a free lunch in this world. Even if we are of the same race, I have no obligation to pay your bill for nothing, understand?”
Suddenly, Qiu leaned close to Xia Yi, eyeing her up and down with a mischievous look, muttering to herself.
“Not bad, not bad, very nice…”
“What are you trying to do?!”
“Xia Yi, gratitude can’t just be expressed with words. It needs to be backed up with action.”
Then Qiu said something that made Xia Yi’s heart skip a beat.
“Pretty little silver dragon, I need you to use your body to pay off that hefty meal bill.”
