Volume 4 + Chapter 241: Reunion In The Capital

Xia Yi, holding Little Black, ran out of the alley. In the distant sky, she saw a figure.

It was none other than the Silver Dragon Queen of the Dragon Kingdom.

    “Xia Lulu!!”

An expression of immense surprise and joy spread across Xia Yi’s face.

There was no mistake—the person there was Xia Lulu.

She hadn’t expected that Xia Lulu would actually leave the Dragon Kingdom, come to the Holy Crimson Empire, and even be here to rescue her.

She’d had similar thoughts before, but at the time, she dismissed them as wishful thinking.

Under non-essential circumstances, Xia Lulu always remained in the Northern Capital of the Dragon Kingdom, rarely leaving.

But this time was different. Xia Lulu had truly come to save her, even leading dragon forces to breach the capital itself.

Thinking of this, the little princess felt a sting in her nose. This feeling was…

“Squeak?” Little Black seemed to notice Xia Yi was about to cry.

    “Urgh…!”

Xia Yi hurriedly rubbed her eyes, forcing the tears back.

She was one thousand percent pure macho man! How could she shed little pearls?

A real man’s tears are not shed lightly!

Under Little Black’s gaze, she quickly changed the subject.

“Little Black, we must act now. It will be dangerous ahead, so we need to be mentally prepared!”

    Xia Yi wasn’t rescued yet.

The distance between Xia Lulu’s location and hers was still considerable.

Additionally, with the tail ring she wore sealing her dragon powers, even though she could see Xia Lulu nearby, she couldn’t establish contact through magic. She had to reach Xia Lulu in person.

    The only way now was—

    Charge!

Charge to Xia Lulu’s side and get her attention.

That meant traversing over half the capital.

Coupled with the numerous vampire soldiers present, the danger was undeniable.

“I am the steadfast and unyielding Sword Saint. Even in such peril, I will not retreat!”

After saying this to bolster her own courage, Xia Yi began to run.

She didn’t know the capital’s layout and could only rely on her own judgment to choose what seemed like relatively correct routes.

After observing her surroundings and determining where people were and weren’t, she headed toward less populated areas while ensuring the general direction brought her closer to Xia Lulu’s side.

    From one alley to another.

    “Woof woof woof!!”

Just as Xia Yi ran in, a stray dog rummaging through trash inside was startled, jumped up, and began barking fiercely at her.

Clearly, this stray dog saw her as an intruder on its territory, here to steal food, and stood guard beside the trash can.

    “This…!”

Xia Yi frowned, unsure what to do.

Little Black jumped out of her arms. Upon landing, its body dissipated and reformed into a super-sized black dog.

    “WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF!!”

Little Black roared, barking even more ferociously than the stray. With the added advantage of size, it scared the stray dog away.

    “Excellent, Little Black!!”

    Xia Yi was delighted.

She continued forward with Little Black.

Just after passing through this alley and emerging outside, she discovered a squad of moving vampire soldiers who spotted her.

    “That’s… the Silver Dragon Princess!!”

One of the vampire soldiers who reacted shouted.

The other vampire soldiers quickly raised their weapons, aiming at Xia Yi. Meanwhile, some broke away, heading elsewhere to report.

“We’ve found the Silver Dragon Princess! She’s hiding here!!”

    “Oh no!”

    Xia Yi’s face turned pale.

She was exposed. More vampire soldiers would soon surround them, making escape extremely difficult.

She knew she’d likely be discovered, but this was too fast!

The distance to the area where Xia Lulu appeared was still far.

    “Squeak squeak!”

Little Black, now in its large black dog form, barked twice, seeming to convey something.

Xia Yi glanced at Little Black, then realized what it meant.

“Silver Dragon Princess, I advise you to surrender peacefully. Otherwise, we’ll resort to forc— Urgh aahh!!”

Xia Yi leaped onto Little Black’s back.

Little Black, carrying the silver-haired loli, charged straight ahead, crashing through the row of vampire soldiers and sending them flying.

“Little Black, charge!!” Xia Yi shouted.

    Little Black began its breakthrough.

“The Silver Dragon Princess is here! She’s escaping!!”

    “Chase her! Quickly, after her!”

“Call for reinforcements from other units! Notify Lord Herman!! We must not let the Silver Dragon Princess escape no matter what!!”

Little Black released its wings and took to the air.

The vampire soldiers also took flight, giving chase.

    “Squeak squeak squeak!”

Little Black split off a part of its body, forming a “Tiny Black,” just like when escaping the vampire palace, sending Tiny Black to delay the pursuers.

News of Xia Yi’s appearance had spread among the vampires. More and more vampire units appeared, attempting to encircle and block Little Black.

Faced with an overwhelming number of vampire soldiers, even Little Black was hard-pressed. After all, Little Black wasn’t a combat-type familiar but leaned more toward auxiliary support.

    Swish swish swish!

Suddenly, several blood arrows descended from the sky, shattering Tiny Black.

It was an attack from vampire elites!

Little Black swiftly adjusted its flight path to evade. Although it dodged most attacks, one blood arrow struck it, causing injury. It fell from the sky to the ground, reverting to its original form.

“Little Black!” Xia Yi hurriedly picked up Little Black.

    “Squeak…”

Little Black struggled, opening its eyes, wanting to fight again.

But when Xia Yi looked up, she saw several vampire elites hovering in mid-air, looking down at her.

    Now, escape was nearly impossible.

“I advise you to give up resistance, Silver Dragon Princess,” a vampire elite said.

    “Squeak!”

Little Black flew up again, positioning itself in front of Xia Yi.

    “Foolish creature seeking death!”

A blood-colored spear materialized in the vampire elite’s hand, aimed to kill Little Black.

    At that very moment—

    ROAR!!!

A deafening dragon roar froze everyone’s movements. A dragon descended from the sky, its claws slamming down, instantly pulverizing the vampire elite into a bloody paste.

    “Captain!”

Xia Yi’s face lit up with surprise and joy.

“Your Highness the Princess, my deepest apologies for the delayed rescue. I will now take you to Her Majesty the Queen!”

The captain of the Anti-Vampire Special Operations Unit placed both Xia Yi and Little Black on his back.

Then, with a powerful beat of his wings, he left the area, swiftly flying toward Xia Lulu’s location.

“Xia Lulu!!” Xia Yi called out.

    “Xia Yi?”

Xia Lulu was momentarily stunned. She turned and saw the captain bringing Xia Yi over.

Xia Yi jumped down from the captain’s back and threw herself into Xia Lulu’s embrace. Feeling the familiar warmth, the little princess could no longer hold back her tears.

    “Wahhh… Xia Lulu, I… I’ve finally… with you…”
