Volume 4 Chapter 214
by Need_More_SleepVolume 4 + Chapter 214: Bow Your Head
“Kill! Kill!! Kill!!!”
Roaring, the Troll King began spinning, wielding his massive battle axe.
“Barbarian Storm!”
His speed increased rapidly, starting like a top and evolving into a whirlwind that rampaged across the battlefield.
The storm whipped up by the axe’s edge was razor-sharp. Any vampire soldier touched by its gale instantly turned into a mist of blood.
Thus, the Troll King unleashed a bloody tempest, reaping the lives of his enemies.
“Fall back!!”
The vampire soldiers cried out.
They tried to retreat backward, but the Troll King’s Barbarian Storm was a vicious killing move with powerful suction, like a true tornado, dragging and pulling in fleeing vampire soldiers.
Everyone watched as those vampire soldiers let out despairing wails before death, spinning in the air, only to become bloody blossoms blooming in mid-air after being sucked into the storm’s center.
“Invincible! Our King is simply invincible! The vampires are no match for you!!”
The trolls cheered wildly.
The bloodier it got, the more it ignited their fighting spirit.
“Follow the King, kill them all!!”
Swinging their heavy weapons, the trolls exploited their size advantage to shatter the vampire soldiers’ formations.
The most ferocious among them swept aside a group of vampires with a massive club, grabbed one, opened his maw, and directly bit off the vampire soldier’s head.
“Woo-hoo~!!”
The troll, mouth full of blood, let out an exhilarated cry.
Not to be outdone, other trolls followed suit, displaying the cruelty and savagery of their race.
Led by the Troll King, the scales of war had tipped in the trolls’ favor.
“Hahaha! These pathetic vampires are no match for us trolls. I’ll make you repay every bit of the humiliation from the border incident!!”
The Troll King held his axe with one hand, admiring his troops’ combat, watching the disheveled vampire army and laughing uproariously.
In his loudest voice, he broadcast his arrogant declaration across the entire battlefield.
“Are all vampires just cowards? Isn’t there a single one who can satisfy me?!”
The vampires gritted their teeth in hatred towards the Troll King but could do nothing.
This was the trolls’ top combatant after all, surpassing the leader of Talan City’s defenders in strength.
On this battlefield, truly no one could suppress him.
Plus, the number of vampire troops in Talan City was also inferior to the troll army.
If this continued, victory in this battle would likely belong to the trolls.
“Who can kill me? Who can kill me? Who can kill me?!” the Troll King continued to mock.
“Truly a crude, laughable barbarian race, only capable of reveling in the sensation of slaughter, your tiny-brained heads incapable of the slightest thought, practically no different from primitive cavemen.”
Suddenly, a male voice rang out.
This voice was quite peculiar. It wasn’t very loud, yet it seemed to sound clearly in everyone’s ears.
“Who? Who is that?! Come out! Don’t hide in the shadows!!” the Troll King roared.
“Hmph.”
A black figure descended onto the battlefield. It was a pureblood noble, with a pair of black bat wings on his back. Facing the multitude of gazes, his expression remained unperturbed.
His landing spot was extremely dangerous—right on the front lines, ahead of him were many battle-crazed trolls.
“Fool seeking death!!”
How could the trolls just stand there watching?
They swung their massive weapons, sealing off the vampire’s avenues of escape, intending to cut him down right there.
“A bunch of savage, inferior creatures.”
The scene everyone expected did not occur. His body was not smashed by the trolls. His figure blurred, and he appeared behind the trolls.
The trolls were puzzled, not understanding how he dodged. They tried to turn around…
“Aaahhh!!”
The trolls let out agonized screams. Huge holes had somehow appeared in their chests, their hearts seemingly bitten out. They fell one by one, instantly slain.
This scene shocked everyone. The power he displayed was terrifying.
Everyone could see how the Troll King killed his enemies, but this vampire… was completely unfathomable.
The vampires cheered.
“It’s Lord Morton!!”
This vampire was indeed Morton, the former Vice-Chairman of the Council of Elders, a pureblood noble. Previously corrupted, he had now pledged complete loyalty to the Vampire Ancestor and, in turn, received a blessing of power, achieving a qualitative leap in strength.
Morton looked at the Troll King, whose frame dwarfed his own many times over, and revealed a disdainful expression. “You savage fool, so eager to die. Then I shall oblige you.”
“Arrogant bastard! Who do you think you are, daring to spout such nonsense before me?!”
The Troll King was enraged.
Before he could act, other trolls attacked Morton. But unlike last time, this wasn’t just a few—the entire army moved together, attempting to overwhelm with numbers.
“No matter how much garbage gathers, it’s still just a pile of trash.”
Morton spread his arms, his black bat wings enlarging accordingly.
He activated his Blood Pool, consuming its reserves to unleash a powerful blood magic.
“Blood Magic · Scarlet Feast!!”
Morton transformed his own blood into bats and released them—an astonishing number, a dark, dense swarm. With him at the center, they surged outward like a tidal wave, engulfing the troll army.
The crimson bats easily shredded the trolls’ tough skin, pierced their chests, and pulverized their hearts.
In an extremely short time, a large swath of the troll army fell, suffering heavy losses and reversing the battle’s momentum.
“How is this possible?!”
The trolls could hardly believe their eyes.
Just moments ago, the troll army held absolute advantage. Now, they found themselves at a disadvantage.
All this changed with just one move from Morton.
“Tremble. This is the power bestowed upon me by the Ancestor.”
Morton stood atop troll corpses, looking at the now-frightened trolls. Unadulterated killing intent filled his gaze as he prepared to annihilate these creatures utterly.
“You fools cannot comprehend the Ancestor’s greatness, yet you dare challenge her? Such sacrilege! Since that is the case, I shall bestow death upon you inferior races!”
“King…!”
The trolls all turned their eyes to the Troll King.
Now, the leader of the troll race needed to step forward, demonstrate sufficient power through action, and stabilize morale.
If even he chose to retreat, then this battle would spell defeat for the trolls.
Only by the Troll King defeating Morton could the trolls regain their morale and secure victory.
“What did you say? Damned vampire, do you really think I fear you? Now, I’ll show you my true power and make you know regret!!”
The Troll King tightened his grip on his battle axe, veins bulging on his temples, his heart burning with rage after Morton’s provocation.
“Today, I shall sever your head!!”
“Heh.”
Morton sneered coldly.
He raised his foot and stomped down forcefully.
The head of the troll corpse beneath him burst like a water balloon.
This action seemed to say to the Troll King—
Are you even worthy?
“Battle Aura Liberation!!”
The Troll King was furious beyond measure. He thrust his axe into the ground, his muscles swelling, his aura constantly rising.
His battle aura was like a tangible shockwave, exploding outward in wave after wave, each tremor shaking the earth and whipping up dust and stones.
“The King is serious! We need to get out of here!!” a troll soldier shouted.
The trolls near the Troll King scrambled away. Some who moved too slowly couldn’t withstand the residual shockwaves of the battle aura explosion, were struck by the energy waves, bleeding profusely, and collapsed on the spot, unconscious.
“Grraaahhh—!!”
The Troll King unleashed an ultimate battle cry, causing the color of his battle aura to change—from pale green to fiercely burning green flames that enveloped his body. All his abilities were greatly enhanced, his combat power skyrocketing.
His earlier boasts weren’t empty, he truly possessed extraordinary prowess.
The Troll King picked up his axe again. Like a tyrant capable of shaking mountains and rivers, this single act made the very air tremble. People on the battlefield could hardly breathe.
“Supreme · Barbarian Storm!!”
Different from his previous technique, this time, the Troll King’s axe churned up a violent storm that descended upon the battlefield. The gale-force winds made it hard for people to keep their eyes open. To avoid being blown away, they had to crouch low, unable to stand.
The Troll King raised his axe and leaped, locking the storm onto Morton.
The storm, infused with the Troll King’s battle aura, possessed a powerful suppressing effect. Anyone caught within would find no place to hide.
The blood bats Morton released were shredded within the green storm.
“Die!”
The Troll King’s battle axe descended.
Morton’s eyes glowed with a crimson light. He shook his arms, and a massive surge of blood gushed forth, even more exaggerated than during his Scarlet Feast.
“Blood Magic · Stygian Blood Hound!!”
Gushing blood coalesced and attached to Morton’s body, forming a gigantic, frenzied hound that continuously emerged from the Blood Pool.
That crimson giant hound, like a beast from the netherworld, roared at the Troll King’s battle aura storm.
“Arrrooo—!!”
Utter disbelief filled the Troll King’s eyes. He witnessed his battle aura storm actually being dispersed by the Stygian Blood Hound?!
“No, impossible!”
The Troll King tried to reform his battle aura storm, attempting to press the Stygian Blood Hound to the ground.
However, he did not succeed.
The gale could not cut through the Hound’s body. It shattered the storm, leaped towards the Troll King in the sky, opened its bloody maw, and bit down.
“Aaaaahhh!”
The Troll King let out a scream. His body was seized in the Hound’s jaws, then slammed to the ground. An explosion of bloody energy detonated across his form.
In this clash, the Troll King was clearly defeated.
“Hmph, foolish, savage inferior race. This is the consequence of daring to challenge the vampires.”
The blood gradually receded from Morton’s body. Judging by his expression after unleashing the blood magic, this likely wasn’t his limit, he still had strength to spare.
As for the Troll King…
He was severely wounded. His body was pierced by the Stygian Hound’s fangs, bones broken, blood flowing freely. He lay on the ground, too weak to even hold his weapon, utterly defeated.
The only thing he could do now was desperately keep breathing, to not stop.
Once he stopped, it would be his end.
“The King… lost?!”
The trolls stood frozen in place.
The impact of the scene before them was far too intense.
The Troll King had fought his way to the top among trolls through pure strength. In the trolls’ perception, the Troll King was the strongest among them, unchallengeable, undefeated.
In the earlier battle, the Troll King had gone all out, used his full power.
Even so, he was still crushed by Morton.
The trolls became deeply shaken, losing their will to fight. If even the Troll King couldn’t defeat Morton, how could anyone else hope to challenge him?
None of them had the confidence to survive an encounter with the Stygian Blood Hound.
“So, Troll King, do you think I can kill you now?”
Morton walked towards the Troll King as if taking a leisurely stroll, inquiring with ease.
“You, you…!!”
The Troll King couldn’t even speak. Just uttering these few words made him cough up several mouthfuls of blood.
But whether he admitted it or not, Morton could now kill him as easily as turning over his hand. No one could stop it.
Anyone who tried to intervene would merely be throwing their life away.
“Due to the Ancestor’s grace, I have attained transcendent power, surpassing my former race, becoming a superior being standing above you all,” Morton stated. “Not just you, a mere troll leader—even the kings of the higher races would have to choose to retreat before me.”
“D-damn it…”
“Enough, Troll King. Go to hell and regret your actions.”
Morton raised his hand, preparing to behead the Troll King and conclude this battle.
Just as his hand descended halfway…
Swoosh!
An ice chain flew out from nowhere, binding Morton’s arm.
This powerhouse blessed by the Vampire Ancestor frowned slightly, wondering what fool, having witnessed his immense power, would still dare to interfere.
He intended to easily shatter the chain, but found this ice chain… difficult to break?!
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
More chains flew over, successively binding his limbs, rendering Morton unable to move.
Countless chains filled the sky above the battlefield like a man-made barrier. The sheer scale of this coverage was horrifying, speaking to a terrifying level of magical power.
“Who is it?!”
Morton looked up. He seemed to see a silver-haired dragon loli standing atop the chains, her silver vertical pupils gazing down from above with utter arrogance.
But before he could get a clear look, another chain flew towards him, wrapping around his neck and pulling the noble vampire down, forcing his head to bow.
“Who gave you permission to look up in my presence?”
