Volume 4 + Chapter 119: The Dragon General

The dragon guards were gathered together, discussing something.

At first, Xia Yi thought they were talking about her slacking off again, and felt a little guilty.

But instead, they reported extremely important news to her.

Daleks and Elizabeth had clashed on the Crimson Empire’s border, igniting a war between high-ranking races.

“No one could have predicted the outcome of that battle would be like this…!”

The dragon guards wore expressions of utter disbelief.

“The Vampire Ancestor defeated the Storm King! The undead legion was completely suppressed and routed by the Vampire Ancestor! The war between the Vampire and Undead races—a conflict of high-ranking races—ended in a complete victory for the Vampires!”

“Could it really be… that situation?”

    Xia Yi frowned.

To be honest, she hadn’t expected this at all.

The initial assumption was that the races around the Crimson Empire would be angered by the Vampires’ declaration of war and launch attacks against them, only to be dealt with by Elizabeth.

But who could have guessed the first to lead troops against the Vampires would be another high-ranking race—the Undead.

Given the nature of the undead legion, the Storm King Daleks would have personally led the expedition, yet he was still defeated by the Vampire Ancestor.

Why would the Storm King inexplicably jump into this troubled waters on his own accord?

    No one could explain that.

However, Elizabeth’s defeat of Daleks was enough to shock this land.

Daleks’ strength was no trifling matter. As a king of a high-ranking race, even other high-ranking races viewed him with trepidation, let alone ordinary races.

Yet such a powerful being was trampled underfoot by the Vampire Ancestor, completely overpowered.

Displaying such terrifying strength would undoubtedly instill fear in all the myriad races of the world.

Especially the races and nations surrounding the Crimson Empire, they must be plunged into panic by now.

“Your Highness, this news has already spread across the land. Even we here in the far north know of it. Many races are likely beginning to reassess the Vampires’ strength now,” a dragon guard said.

    “…”

Myriad thoughts swirled in Xia Yi’s mind, she barely registered the guard’s words.

Given the current situation, I must go find Xia Lulu immediately.

Leaving the dragon guards behind, she hurried off to find Xia Lulu.

    ……

    “Huh? Something feels… off.”

Walking through the Dragon Royal Palace, Xia Yi noticed a strange situation.

There were several extremely unfamiliar faces in the palace she had never seen before—neither palace guards nor officials.

Could it be that someone had suddenly visited the Dragon Royal Palace today?

Considering this, Xia Yi immediately changed direction. Before she even got close to the main hall, she heard a male voice.

“Your Majesty, what are you still waiting for? Why must our dragon clan choose to tolerate the enemy’s provocation?”

Xia Yi’s expression changed, a figure surfaced in her mind.

    It couldn’t be that guy…!

Feeling uneasy, she still moved closer, leaning by the doorway and peeking her head in.

At this moment, the Silver Dragon Queen Xia Lulu sat upon the Dragon Throne. Her expression was icy as she gazed down, her aura exuding an invisible pressure vastly different from her usual demeanor around Xia Yi. She appeared utterly as an autocrat holding absolute power.

Standing before the Dragon Throne was a middle-aged male dragon. Unlike ordinary dragons who would adopt a submissive posture before the Silver Dragon Queen, he stood tall and straight, meeting Xia Lulu’s eyes directly, his manner aggressive and pressing.

The man wore the dragon clan’s highest-ranking military uniform. He had a robust build, carried a sword at his waist, and wore a cloak black on the outside with a red interior—an unforgettable sight at a glance.

He was the only one in the Dragon Kingdom privileged to enter the court bearing arms—

    The Dragon General, Heinrich.

“Why is it this big guy?!”

Looking at Heinrich’s back, Xia Yi’s expression soured further, recalling some unpleasant memories.

It was back when she was very young, Heinrich had visited the capital once.

Little Xia Yi, being naive and not knowing this was the Dragon General, saw a stranger and thought he was a guest. She ran over, wanting to greet him proactively.

The result was Heinrich simply looking at the little silver dragon running towards him.

That one look made the smile vanish from little Xia Yi’s cute face. Her eyes welled up with tears, and she started crying on the spot.

To this day, she still dislikes this big guy!!

“Are Xia Lulu and the big guy arguing?” Xia Yi focused on the situation inside.

Heinrich addressed Xia Lulu, “Your Majesty, I believe you are well aware of the current situation with the Vampires?”

    “Of course I am, Heinrich.”

“Then what reason does our dragon clan have to continue observing from the sidelines?”

Heinrich raised his hand as if to crush an enemy.

“Our ancestor, Dragon King Glen, faced with provocation from foreign races, directly chose to use absolute strength to crush them, even forcing those races to unite, forming an alliance to oppose the dragon clan! Even so, Dragon King Glen continued the fight, letting the flames of war burn across this land, igniting the Dragon War! He made all the myriad races of the world fear our dragon clan!”

“Heinrich, what are you trying to say?” Xia Lulu’s voice was cold.

“We have been entrenched in the north for far too long—so long the world has forgotten the terror of our dragon clan! Since the Vampires have declared war on us, why not use this opportunity? After declaring war on the Vampires, gather all our dragon clan’s strength, march south, trample everything underfoot, and subjugate all those ants who dare to scorn us!”

“The times have changed, Heinrich,” Xia Lulu said. “The dragon clan is not the same as it was in that era.”

“No! Your Majesty, we can seize control of this era once more! The blood of conquest flows in the bones of our dragon clan, no one can erase that! It should not be suppressed, it should be unleashed! The past glory of the dragon clan can all be restored through war and conquest!”

    “Heinrich!”

Xia Lulu suddenly stood up. A killing intent flickered in her silver eyes. The air seemed to freeze, becoming piercingly cold.

    “Are you defying me?”

    “…”

“I have already decided how to respond to the Vampires’ provocation against our dragon clan. It is not your concern. Your duty now is to guard the borders, not stand before me spouting your impractical fantasies.”

Xia Lulu’s silver pupils began to glow faintly, she was almost on the verge of releasing the Dragon King’s pressure.

“This is the Dragon King’s command. If you wish to defy it, you may try right here.”

Heinrich’s gaze turned complex. Yet, it was clear he showed no fear, rather, it was filled more with disappointment and dissatisfaction. He merely bowed his head slightly, offering a calm, apologetic salute.

“Your Majesty, I apologize. I was reckless.”

“Withdraw, Heinrich. Return to fulfill your duties.” Xia Lulu had no wish to continue the conversation.

    “I understand, Your Majesty.”

Heinrich turned and strode purposefully out of the palace doors.

Stepping outside, he immediately encountered Xia Yi, who was hiding nearby.

    “…”

    “…”

Heinrich stopped, his eyes meeting Xia Yi’s.

One large dragon, one small dragon, simply stared at each other for a full ten seconds.

A subtle change flickered in Heinrich’s eyes, he seemed about to say something.

But at that moment, the little princess performed a startling act towards the dragon clan’s supreme general.
