Volume 4 Chapter 8
by Need_More_SleepVolume 4 + Chapter 8: Our Princess
Hearing Yue Liu’s name from Xia Yi’s own mouth, Serra was truly surprised.
After all, Yue Liu was the princess of the Nine-Tailed Fox Clan—the next Nine-Tailed Fox Queen.
And somehow she was Xia Yi’s object of affection.
How could Serra not be concerned?
“Did you… do anything special with her?”
Serra used a more tactful phrasing.
“I mean, something… different from what you’d do with other people.”
“Something special?”
Xia Yi thought for a moment, then answered honestly.
After all, it wasn’t anything she considered a big deal!
“Well, I guess the main thing is—we slept together! Speaking of which, Yue Liu really wasn’t very good. It was only one night, and she still managed to soak the entire bedsheet!”
“W-what…?!”
Serra wondered if she’d misheard.
Her own princess… had slept with the fox princess?!
And not only slept with her—but the fox princess had even… left the bedsheets soaked?
“Princess, you’re not lying to me, are you?”
“It’s the truth!”
Xia Yi giggled.
“Later on, Yue Liu even kept insisting that… she and I are destined to be entangled forever! Something about being destined rivals for life!”
The exact phrase was something like “a lifelong nemesis entanglement,” or something along those lines.
Anyway, that was the idea—Serra would definitely understand.
Serra froze completely, her foam-covered hands stopping mid-motion.
Her Highness… was far too powerful!!
She’d only been gone for a short trip, and already she had developed an ambiguous relationship with the fox princess.
Not only that—they had done things in bed… and afterward even made what sounded like lifelong promises?!
“Um… Princess, why did you stop?” Xia Yi raised her head in confusion.
Serra wondered if perhaps Her Highness was more innocent than she thought, and maybe she’d misunderstood entirely.
For example—maybe they’d accidentally spilled water on the bedsheet?
She should confirm it.
With that thought, Serra asked carefully, “Princess, is there some misunderstanding? When you said the bedsheet got wet… Do you mean she accidentally spilled water or something…?”
“Nope!”
Xia Yi waved her hand.
The moment she remembered it, she couldn’t help but laugh.
Even though the fox girl looked that mature—she actually wet the bed!
“That was Yue Liu’s water—sticky and everything. Afterward she was blushing like a fully ripe carrot.”
“S-so it really was that?” Serra blinked.
That confirmed everything.
As expected, Her Highness possessed overwhelming charm even among her peers—even the fox clan, masters of seduction, could not resist her allure.
With just a little effort, she had taken down the fox princess. Truly impressive.
“Then, Princess, what do you think of the fox princess?”
“Hm… Fox-Carrot?”
Xia Yi thought for a moment and gave her answer.
“Well, honestly… just her alone isn’t really enough!”
“Not enough… to satisfy Your Highness?”
Serra was stunned.
The fox princess was famed across the land for her dreamlike beauty, yet even she wasn’t enough for the princess?!
“Yeah! Yue Liu alone isn’t enough. It’s better to have others too!” Xia Yi nodded.
She meant if she only had Yue Liu as a battle rival, she’d get bored quickly.
It was best to have more worthy opponents—fighting various strong foes would let her improve faster.
“Then what about the vampire princess, Miu Miu?”
“Miu Miu? She’s fine too… Though she cheats sometimes, but I actually have a type advantage against her!”
After all, vampires were technically dark-aligned beings, and the Holy Sword held special effectiveness.
If they really fought, Xia Yi would have the upper hand.
“I see. Her Highness’s range is… quite broad.”
“Of course!”
Xia Yi puffed up proudly.
“The more people the better—bring them all!”
……
After finishing her bath, Xia Yi finally put on her long-missed white princess gown.
Her silver hair was tied into long twin-tails, paired with her flawless face and shimmering silver eyes—utterly dreamlike in cuteness.
Standing before the mirror, she lifted her skirt and spun halfway around.
The fluttering hem radiated pure girlish charm.
The silver-haired loli had only one thought: This princess is just too cute…
“Huh!?”
Xia Yi felt a faint sting on the back of her hand—like the Holy Sword was warning her.
“Ahem! Old friend, you’re mistaken! What I meant was—I am perfectly playing the role of the dragon princess. I’ve fooled everyone. No one would ever guess that beneath this appearance, I am still the unyielding Sword Saint! This way, my mortal enemy Xia Lulu will think I’ve abandoned all will to fight and lower her guard. That will be my chance to defeat her again! Yes, yes—it’s all acting. Pure acting. Not my true feelings!”
“Princess, your split personality symptoms are getting worse,” Serra murmured, watching her talk to herself in the mirror with a pleased expression.
“This is wonderful—the sicker you are, the more you resemble a future Dragon King!”
“Serra, let’s go!” Xia Yi stepped up to her.
“Understood.”
Serra nodded.
With her maid leading the way, Xia Yi arrived at the banquet hall.
The moment she appeared, the people of the Dragon Palace erupted in cheers.
According to Xia Lulu, this was a private banquet—attendees were mainly palace members: Xia Yi’s teachers, the Royal Maid Corps, the dragon guards… all people who knew her.
“Princess! You’re back! Waaaah, I missed you sooo much!”
A short green dragon maid jumped up from the crowd, waving energetically.
It was Elly.
“OKAY!! EVERYONE!! EYES ON ME!! LOOK HERE!! I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT!!”
A loud, piercing voice grabbed everyone’s attention.
They all turned to see a blue-haired maid with a very intellectual appearance, shouting dramatically to command the room.
It was Atiya—the famously “brilliant” blue dragon maid!
Xia Yi instantly recognized her.
Atiya hoisted an enormous confetti cannon onto her shoulder, pulled hard—and boom! it exploded, showering the hall with colorful streamers.
Along with them, a huge banner drifted down, written with—
“WELCOME HOME, OUR PRINCESS!!” Atiya shouted happily.
Everyone cheered together.
Xia Lulu also appeared quietly, stepping to Xia Yi’s side with a gentle smile.
The sight made the little princess freeze.
It should have been a joyous moment, yet surrounded by everyone…
she suddenly felt an urge to cry, for reasons she couldn’t quite explain.
