Lin Aoxue,who was being choked,had no idea what the paper in Su Rui’s hand meant. Although she was already feeling slightly suffocated,with Su Rui here,she wasn’t all that panicked.

Danielle Sharp still had a firm grip on Lin Aoxue,but when she saw the ten bright red fingerprints on that paper,her eyebrows couldn’t help but tremble violently!

She knew — these were fingerprints Su Rui had forcibly pressed using her own fingers… and he’d pressed them ten times in a row! At the time,all ten of her fingers had been completely covered in red ink! It had taken a great deal of effort to wash it off!

“This is the settlement agreement between us.” Su Rui narrowed his eyes and said,”Signing an agreement is supposed to be something both parties willingly agree to. Since you already promised me you wouldn’t seek revenge,what’s this about taking Lin Aoxue hostage now? And why did you barge into Bikang headquarters?”

“I wasn’t aware of anything when that agreement was signed,and I never once agreed to settle with you.” Danielle Sharp replied coldly.

“But your fingerprints are on it. If you didn’t agree to the terms,why did you press your fingerprint? And you pressed it ten times in a row!” Su Rui waved the agreement in his hand,those ten red fingerprints impossibly conspicuous.

Danielle Sharp was so furious she nearly coughed up blood,and the hand choking Lin Aoxue loosened slightly.

Lin Aoxue could already clearly feel her breathing becoming easier again,but she didn’t take this opportunity to act rashly — she was no match for this woman at all!

As far as Lin Aoxue was concerned,aside from Su Rui and the Temple of the Sun,there were hardly any decent people from the Western dark world.

Su Rui raised his phone,”Sorry,that’s all in the past. You still have a bit of a misunderstanding about me. What I have to tell you is that just yesterday,I had a phone call with your father.”

“You spoke with him? What did he say?” Danielle Sharp was taken aback,her attention diverted once again.

It had been so long since she’d been in contact with her father,so long since she’d heard any news of him — yet she hadn’t expected that he had been watching over her all along.

“You should go back and see him when you have the time. He’s your father,and the person in this world who cares about you most.” Su Rui said,sounding almost earnest.

“Go back to see him? Impossible.”

Danielle Sharp laughed coldly,”Don’t try to play the sentimental card with me. What else did he say?”

This was also Su Rui’s “sentimental approach,” yet he hadn’t expected Danielle Sharp to see right through it. It seemed the rift between this father and daughter really ran quite deep.

Shaking his head,Su Rui said,”He also said… he’s very satisfied with me as his son-in-law.”

Hearing this,Lin Aoxue was completely stunned,and Danielle Sharp also seemed to need a moment to properly digest those words!

“Very satisfied with you as his son-in-law?”

“You really don’t hold back!” Su Rui wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. Having taken that palm strike from this woman and suffered internal injuries,he was naturally in a foul mood.

“That punishment is far too light for you. I’d love nothing more than to kill you right now.” Danielle Sharp could only talk tough — without her purple soft sword in hand,she was no match for Su Rui.

“Danielle,you’d better get a clear read on the situation. This isn’t the West — this is China,and I can decide whether you live or die with a single word!” Su Rui pulled Lin Aoxue to her feet and said with a cold expression,”I’m telling you,letting you leave is me showing respect to Zeus. If you still want to cause trouble,don’t blame me for being impolite!”

With that,Su Rui took Lin Aoxue by the hand and walked past Danielle Sharp.

When they reached the doorway of the conference room,Su Rui turned his face back and said coldly to Danielle Sharp,”That palm you just hit me with — consider us even.”

As he spoke,he pulled out that “settlement agreement” covered in ten fingerprints,casually tore it apart with two quick rips,tossed the scraps onto her,and walked away!

It seemed that Danielle Sharp’s act of taking Lin Aoxue hostage and injuring him had genuinely put Comrade Apollo in a bad mood. Had he known this young lady was so willful,he wouldn’t have kept her around in the first place.

Danielle Sharp stood where she was,staring blankly at the scattered scraps of paper,then looked at Su Rui’s retreating figure,her eyes carrying a complicated expression.

Chen Dawu had long since stationed himself with the security team outside the conference room door in full readiness. With the chaos going on inside just now,he hadn’t been able to rush in.

When he saw that Lin Aoxue’s neck and shoulders were already stained with blood,he nearly panicked to death,and hurried forward to ask,”General Manager,are you alright?”

Lin Aoxue said calmly,”I’m fine. This is Su Rui’s blood.”

Su Rui was very satisfied with Lin Aoxue’s reaction — after all,the worry in her eyes just now had been absolutely genuine.

Lin Aoxue didn’t hear the second half of what Su Rui said at all. Her mind kept replaying only the first part — an injury of this degree was already terrifying enough to her,yet Su Rui called it routine!

Looking at this man’s nonchalant expression,Lin Aoxue felt as though her heart was being pricked by needles — a sharp,stinging ache.

“Don’t live like this anymore.” Lin Aoxue tilted her head slightly,avoiding Su Rui’s gaze.

“Is that an order again?” Su Rui smiled and asked once more. At this moment,he found Lin Aoxue breathtakingly beautiful in a way he had never felt before.

“Yes.” The eldest daughter of the Lin family gave a small nod,her cool gaze carrying unmistakable resolve.

“I’m not anyone to you — what gives you the right to order me around?” A flicker of teasing passed through Su Rui’s eyes.

Lin Aoxue didn’t take the bait at all,”Because I don’t want you to keep living like this.”

“That’s really very difficult.”

Su Rui let out a sigh,”Unless I kill off every single one of my enemies,or make the Temple of the Sun powerful enough that no one dares to provoke us — only then will things settle down.”

“I’ll work toward that with you.”

Lin Aoxue reached out on her own initiative and wrapped her hand around Su Rui’s palm.
