Chapter 457
by 林方方Chapter 457 Come Swimming with Me
It seemed like she had known all along that Su Rui would come. Spotting his car from a distance, Qin Yueran immediately went out to meet him. There was not a trace of dejection or disappointment on her face — she was still the radiant Queen of Junlan.
“Why are you standing out here?”
Su Rui pulled up and asked awkwardly. These days, facing Qin Yueran always gave him a guilty feeling.
This was outside the Junlan Hotel — Qin Yueran would never normally be seen here.
“I’m waiting for you.”
Qin Yueran gave an answer that left Su Rui completely stunned.
“How did you know I was coming?” Looking at this girl who had spent several nights with him on the rooftop, Su Rui felt deeply embarrassed.
“Of course I knew.”
Qin Yueran held up her phone and said, “Lin Aoxue texted me.”
“What?”
Su Rui could hardly believe his ears!
Why would Lin Aoxue text Qin Yueran to tell her he was coming? The two of them couldn’t possibly be planning to share him together, could they?
Thinking back to how Lin Aoxue had proactively told him to go find Qin Yueran, Su Rui increasingly felt that two women sharing one man wasn’t out of the question. But these two women were really too infuriating — had they ever thought to ask for his opinion?
That was what Su Rui was thinking, and so that was exactly what came out of his mouth.
“What do you two take me for? Treating me like some item you can just pass around at will? I’m a person too — a living, breathing man with flesh and blood, thoughts and feelings. I can make choices and judgments. The two of you keep sending me back and forth — what is that supposed to mean? If you want two women sharing one man, did you ever stop to consider my feelings?”
Su Rui was spitting as he spoke, seething with righteous indignation, like someone had kicked him where it hurts and refused to pay damages.
Hearing this, Qin Yueran’s expression turned strange. “What are you talking about? Two women sharing one man?”
Su Rui scoffed. “Oh sure, play dumb. You think I don’t know? You and Lin Aoxue secretly worked it out — both of you would be with me. But think about it, this is a monogamous era. It’s a serious violation of the laws of this country! Would I ever agree to that? Would I ever agree to that? Would I ever agree to that?”
Su Rui asked the same rhetorical question three times in a row, looking absolutely unstoppable.
Qin Yueran took the opportunity to ask, “So would you agree or not?”
“I would!” Su Rui said with great conviction, his expression that of a man ready to face death without flinching.
Qin Yueran stared at Su Rui with a complicated, conflicted look on her face. She truly couldn’t find the right words — she had never met anyone so utterly shameless.
After saying that, Su Rui kept his voice at the same volume as before. “But even if I would agree, you two should have consulted me first, right? Sure, finding out about this is actually quite a pleasant surprise, but you still have to give a person time to process it…”
Before Su Rui could finish, Qin Yueran had already spun around on her stilettos and walked away briskly.
“Hey, I’m not done yet — where are you going?” Su Rui hurried after her. This woman, honestly — how could she just walk off in the middle of a conversation? He still wanted to ask about the details of the two-women-one-man arrangement.
…………
On Qin Yueran’s private rooftop.
Su Rui stared at her in disbelief. “You’re saying I was flattering myself? That none of that is actually happening?”
“Of course. What did you think?” Qin Yueran said with contempt. “I’ve never seen anyone with such an inflated sense of self. Who am I? Who is Lin Aoxue? Having the two of us serve you together so you can enjoy having a harem? Think about it — is that even remotely possible?”
Su Rui rubbed his nose and thought for a moment, then said sheepishly, “I guess it really doesn’t seem that likely.”
Whether it was Lin Aoxue or Qin Yueran, both were young women from extremely wealthy families — proud and high-minded, with no interest in ordinary men. And yet just moments ago Su Rui had been fantasizing about having both of them. The odds of that were honestly even lower than Mars crashing into Earth.
“You didn’t sleep well last night, did you?”
Qin Yueran looked at the dark circles under Su Rui’s eyes and said with a cold smile, “No — I’d guess you didn’t sleep at all.”
“I really didn’t sleep much. Tossed and turned all night.” Su Rui said, half truthfully.
He also felt that his behavior just now had been truly pathetic. But the moment he realized that having both women was off the table, a powerful wave of relief washed over him.
When it came to relationships with women, Su Rui suffered from both decision paralysis and an inability to say no — and when those women happened to be exceptionally beautiful, both conditions were instantly amplified to an extreme degree.
“Let me ask you — have you figured out what you want to do next?”
Qin Yueran hooked her arm around Su Rui’s neck and looked straight at him. Their noses were almost touching.
“Oh god, why is it always this question?” Su Rui felt like crying.
“I haven’t figured it out.”
“If you haven’t figured it out, then why did you come here?” Qin Yueran asked with a cold smile.
“It’s…” Su Rui was about to say it was because Lin Aoxue told him to come, but then he thought better of it — saying that would probably only deepen the tension between the two women.
“It’s what?”
“It’s that I felt I should come see you.” Su Rui looked Qin Yueran in the eyes and said it without so much as a blush or a flinch.
“Really?”
“Absolutely. Why would I lie to you?”
Hearing this, Qin Yueran let out a soft sigh, reached out both arms to wrap around Su Rui’s neck, and pressed her chest firmly against his.
“The truth is, no matter what you say, I can only choose to believe you.” Qin Yueran said softly. “You’ve got me completely wrapped around your finger.”
Su Rui went completely stiff, every muscle tensed, and scrambled for something to say. “I suddenly feel really hot.”
“It is hot — it’s going to be 30 degrees today.”
Qin Yueran looked at the sweat beading on Su Rui’s forehead, a smile playing at the corners of her lips. “So I already made arrangements. Come on, let’s go swimming.”
“Swim…ming?” Su Rui looked at Qin Yueran’s flawless legs and suddenly felt his muscles go even more rigid.
“Yeah, when it’s hot you go swimming — isn’t that perfectly normal?”
Su Rui swallowed involuntarily and swept his gaze over Qin Yueran’s incredible figure from head to toe once more.
“Swimming — what do I wear?” Su Rui cracked a grin that looked more like a grimace.
“What do you think? You wear a swimsuit, obviously.”
With that, Qin Yueran grabbed the completely stiff and immobilized Su Rui and led him off the rooftop.
Faced with such an extraordinary temptation from such an extraordinary beauty, Su Rui’s decision paralysis and inability to say no were once again amplified to their absolute limit.
Su Rui, who normally possessed unmatched fighting ability, seemed to have lost all his skills at this moment — wherever Qin Yueran led him, he had no choice but to follow obediently.
If Lin Aoxue ever found out that her “gracious concession” and “fair competition” had been so thoroughly exploited by Qin Yueran, one wonders whether she would be consumed with regret.
Although Lin Aoxue was no stranger to tactics in the business world, her thinking always leaned more toward the research and technical side of things. When it came to the eight-word principle of “using any means necessary to deal with your opponent,” her grasp of it was nowhere near that of the cunning and sharp-minded Qin Yueran.
Of course, this was also the biggest difference between Lin Aoxue and Qin Yueran. The previous night, Lin Aoxue had made up her mind to give herself to Su Rui, yet in the end she had backed away because of her own psychological hang-ups. If it had been Qin Yueran in that situation, she would have acted without a second thought — knock him down first, talk later.
Take what you want by force, claim the goods first and review them after. Whether it’s a five-star review, a three-star, or a one-star — that can wait until after you’ve opened the package and tried it out.
As the Queen of Junlan, Qin Yueran had an image to maintain, so she naturally couldn’t put on a swimsuit and go swimming with Su Rui at the beach in public — that would draw a crowd, and within minutes it would probably be all over the internet.
After all, throughout the entire city of Ninghai, countless people were dying to see the Queen of Junlan take off her perfectly fitted, breathtaking qipao and slip into a bikini that would show off her figure to the fullest — to finally catch a glimpse of her legendary legs.
Yet despite knowing this perfectly well, Qin Yueran had never once given them the satisfaction.
Summer or winter, every time anyone saw the Queen of Junlan, she was in a qipao. The style had become her signature look — so much so that a clothing company had once offered tens of millions to have Qin Yueran as their brand ambassador, only to be flatly and unhesitatingly turned down.
Much like the many resort villas at places like Bali, Junlan Kaibin — as Ninghai’s most upscale and luxurious resort hotel — also had a number of small standalone villas with private courtyards inside the property, each with its own pool. Naturally, the nightly rate for these villas was extremely high, and most ordinary guests could only afford to stay one or two nights before it became too much.
Because the designers at the time had failed to account for the fact that Ninghai was not a typical tourist destination — with far more business travelers than leisure tourists — the vast majority of Junlan Hotel’s standalone villas sat empty most of the time. This was one of the designers’ missteps, a wasteful use of a large amount of space. In a city like Ninghai where land was worth its weight in gold, leaving an entire cluster of small villas vacant was truly a terrible waste.
But Qin Yueran didn’t mind. Under her management over the past two years, the development costs of that land had been recouped many times over. She could easily package up all several dozen villas and sell them off, but the fourth daughter of the Qin family had no shortage of money — whenever she wanted, that small cluster of ocean-view villas could generate new profits for her at any time.
Of course, Qin Yueran had her own thinking on the matter. Land prices in Ninghai were already shooting through the roof, and choosing to sell land at this point — a one-time transaction — was no different from draining the pond to catch the fish. Over the years, land prices in Ninghai had already multiplied beyond counting.
Su Rui had seen Lin Aoxue in a swimsuit before, but he couldn’t even begin to imagine what it would look like when Qin Yueran — with her unrivaled legs and a figure that rivaled the world’s top supermodels — put on a bikini. What kind of jaw-dropping effect would that have?
Those Sports Illustrated models or Victoria’s Secret angels would probably be completely outclassed.
His feet moved of their own accord. Even without Qin Yueran pulling him along, Su Rui would still have followed obediently behind her.
Even so, in that moment, the great Master Su was still searching for psychological comfort, putting on a show of cool indifference on the outside. “I’d like to see what tricks you’re pulling. Swimming? You think I’m that easy to play? Today… if I don’t swim at least a few dozen laps with you, this whole trip will have been for nothing!”
If Qin Yueran could hear what was going through Su Rui’s mind, she would surely curse him out as the most shameless, lowdown, and utterly disgraceful person she had ever encountered.
