Chapter 490
by 林方方Chapter 490 The Plan Arranged by Apollo!
“Brother, your skewers are all here.” The owner looked to be in her thirties, full of charm, swaying her hips as she walked — clearly a hot and lively young woman.
She said with a grin, “I have to say, big bro, your girlfriend is really something — even prettier than a movie star.”
“She’s alright, still a notch below you, boss lady.” Su Rui said with a smile, pouring himself a glass of draft beer and drinking alone.
It was fortunate that Danielle Sharp’s Mandarin was nowhere near good enough to catch the meaning behind Su Rui’s words, otherwise she would have gone absolutely ballistic.
“This young man sure knows how to talk. Look at that smooth skin — if you come again next time, I’ll comp your meal.” With that, the charming young woman swayed her hips and sashayed away.
Sitting among a group of shirtless, tattooed men, Danielle Sharp stood out like a bright flower in full bloom, impossibly eye-catching.
The owner’s words had already drawn a sea of hungry, glinting stares. These men had never laid eyes on a woman this beautiful and this sexy in their lives, and now they could barely tear their gazes away.
“Here, try one and see how it tastes.”
Su Rui handed Danielle Sharp a grilled chicken wing. She looked at the greasy wooden skewer and didn’t reach out to take it.
Even so, the rich aroma was already drifting irresistibly into her nose. After a month of bland hospital food, Danielle couldn’t hold out much longer — her stomach was already growling in protest, and her appetite was well and truly stirred.
“Already starting to drool? Then stop holding back. Come on.”
Su Rui smiled and held the chicken wing right up to Danielle Sharp’s lips.
She didn’t hesitate for a second and took a big bite.
The two of them looked just like a couple feeding each other.
At that moment, every man present wished he could be that chicken wing.
“Is it good?”
“It’s good.”
Danielle Sharp mumbled through a mouthful of grilled meat. She was clearly starving. Not wanting to get her hands greasy, she had no choice but to let Su Rui hold the skewers for her.
“Here, have some draft beer.” Su Rui lifted the glass and fed her a big sip.
Not far away, a camera had quietly emerged from the shadows, seemingly capturing every moment.
Danielle Sharp was completely unaware of any of this.
“The boss really delivers — even managed to get footage like this.” A voice of admiration came through the tiny earpiece Su Rui was wearing.
Su Rui heard it and glanced at Danielle Sharp with a smile. He had to give credit where it was due — this woman’s cooperation made it all possible. How else could he show those restless troublemakers in the Western underworld the peaceful coexistence between the dashing Apollo and the beautiful Danielle?
One was the leader of the Temple of the Sun, the other a figure of real power in the Hades faction. With the two of them acting this close and familiar, wasn’t that more than enough to make a statement?
By then, everyone would likely come to realize that the Temple of Hades and the Temple of the Sun had quite possibly already joined forces.
The combined strength of these two powers would be absolutely greater than the sum of their parts. Anyone who still had designs on Sanzuaminlun would have to think very carefully about whether they could snatch food from the mouths of two great gods.
Right as the camera was rolling, Su Rui lifted his T-shirt at just the right moment, revealing the purple flexible sword at his waist.
That sword was Danielle Sharp’s signature personal weapon — and now it was hanging at Apollo’s waist. The implications were enormous.
If the underworld figures found the footage of the two feeding each other a little hard to believe, then the sight of that purple flexible sword would leave absolutely no room for doubt.
Although Su Rui was putting on something of a deliberate performance, his acting was holding up well enough.
“Sir, could you perhaps do something a bit more intimate? Like putting your arm around her, hugging, kissing — the more intense the better.” The voice came through the earpiece again.
Su Rui couldn’t respond, so he quietly flipped a hidden middle finger toward the darkness.
“Sir, I’m uploading this video to several major underworld sites right now. It should spread quickly.” The voice on the other end sounded excited.
Su Rui waved vaguely at the night air, as if shaking sweat off his hand — but the real message was: get lost, stop being a third wheel.
“Alright, that’s enough. My arm is getting sore.”
Su Rui wrapped a napkin around the end of the skewer and handed it to Danielle Sharp. The video was done — no need to keep playing the gentleman. That was way too much effort.
She stopped caring about her fussy little habits and just dug in on her own, image be damned, mouth glistening with oil.
The spicy, bold flavors hit her taste buds hard, and the top beauty of the Hades faction was thoroughly enjoying herself.
“Come on, let’s toast.” Su Rui clinked glasses with Danielle Sharp with a smile.
The draft beer was light and low in alcohol, so Danielle Sharp drank it like water — in just that short while, she had nearly finished a whole pitcher.
Two people who had been at each other’s throats not long ago now seemed, in the blink of an eye, to have become the closest of friends.
“Hey beautiful, we’d like to raise a glass to you.”
At that moment, several shirtless men walked over holding their glasses. Each of them was covered in tattoos of dragons and tigers, fierce and intimidating.
It was obvious these were guys who lived on the wrong side of the law — the type who probably ended up in a detention center at least once a year.
Su Rui took one look and knew exactly what was going on. These guys were clearly after Danielle Sharp’s looks. A woman of her caliber was an extremely rare sight, and getting close to her was something they’d jump at any chance for.
“What do they want?” Danielle Sharp frowned at the group reeking of alcohol.
“This is a Huaxia custom. Whenever there’s a beautiful foreign guest around, they come over to offer a toast as a gesture of courtesy.” Su Rui was taking full advantage of Danielle Sharp’s limited Mandarin. “Huaxia is a land of etiquette and hospitality — you’ll come to understand that over time.”
Whether it was the beer going to her head or something else, Danielle Sharp gave a half-understanding nod and asked, “So what should I do now?”
“You return the toast, of course. Whatever they drink, you drink the same.” Su Rui said with a grin.
This guy was absolutely settling old scores. Danielle Sharp had been hunting him down for so long — well, karma had come around fast, hadn’t it.
“I see.” Danielle Sharp heard this, stood up happily, raised her glass, and said, “Let’s drink.”
She said it in stiff, halting Mandarin that was a bit of a struggle to follow.
The tattooed man leading the group was delighted to see this beautiful girl being so bold and game. He burst out laughing. “I love how straightforward you are, sweetheart. Come on, bottoms up!”
With that, he clinked glasses with Danielle Sharp and the two of them drained them in one go.
“That’s what I’m talking about!” The tattooed man saw how easy it was to get this gorgeous foreign girl along for the ride and laughed heartily. He cracked open another bottle, handed it to Danielle, and said, “Beauty, meeting like this must be fate. Let’s finish this bottle together and get better acquainted — what do you say?”
She didn’t hesitate at all, took the bottle, and started chugging away.
That head-held-high, chest-out posture nearly made the pack of wolves across from her go cross-eyed.
Meanwhile, Su Rui had already quietly slipped to the side and settled the bill with the owner.
“Hey, young man, those guys are hitting on your girlfriend over there. Are you really just going to stand by and watch them take advantage of her?” The owner said with a smile, a hint of amusement in the look she gave Su Rui.
“When did I ever say she was my girlfriend?” Su Rui said with a grin. “Boss lady, if she ends up getting harassed by those guys in a bit, don’t you dare break it up.”
“Fine, I won’t break it up — but you have to sit down and have a couple of drinks with me.” The still-charming owner crossed her arms, and the view was enough to make a man’s nose bleed.
“I’m not that kind of person.” Su Rui really couldn’t handle this forward woman. He turned around, and his figure vanished into the night.
His body was gone, but the BMW was still parked right where he’d left it.
The owner rubbed her eyes, a little confused. That cute young guy had been standing right there a second ago — where on earth had he gone?
Over on the other side, Danielle Sharp had single-handedly knocked back seven or eight bottles of beer. Her flat stomach had puffed out a little, and the already barely-there spaghetti-strap top she was wearing looked even more revealing now, radiating a thick, heady allure in the night air.
“Great, really great. I love this feeling.”
The tattooed man and his buddies exchanged glances, each seeing the look of triumph in the other’s eyes.
None of them had ever seen such a stunning foreign girl before. They’d expected it to take some real effort to win her over, but this woman had surprised them all — she’d matched them drink for drink through seven or eight bottles of beer on her own.
At this rate, wouldn’t she be completely at their mercy? The boys could do whatever they pleased.
“Hey gorgeous, let’s be friends. My name’s Li Long, twenty-eight years old, young and full of energy — I guarantee you won’t want to stop once we get started.” The tattooed man’s eyes were thick with desire.
But Danielle Sharp, who barely understood Mandarin, just kept saying, “Come on, cheers, cheers, cheers.”
“Alright, if you want to keep drinking, we’ll keep drinking! But before we do, shouldn’t we do something a little more meaningful first?”
The tattooed brute wore a lecherous grin as he stepped forward, reaching out a hand as if to drape it over Danielle Sharp’s snow-white shoulder.
But before his hand could even graze that smooth skin, he felt his entire body flip a full 180 degrees.
He was slammed down from mid-air with full force, smashing a table to splinters beneath him.
The owner, who had been watching with her arms crossed, was so shocked she couldn’t say a word.
If she hadn’t seen it with her own eyes, it would have been nearly impossible to imagine just how staggering the sight was.
The tattooed man had to weigh at least two hundred pounds, and yet he’d been thrown to the ground like it was nothing by a foreign girl who looked like a gentle breeze could knock her over. It was absolutely unbelievable.
Su Rui hadn’t gone far. From the darkness, he said with a cold laugh, “My dear Danielle Sharp — are you genuinely this clueless, or are you just playing dumb in front of me?”
