Chapter 556
by 林方方Chapter 556 I Represent the Temple of the Sun!
Blown to the sky?
Hearing those words, Yamamoto Taichiro felt as though the rage burning inside him was about to incinerate him entirely!
His most cherished youngest son, Yamamoto Kyokusen, the one most worthy of inheriting his legacy, was dead? And in such a brutal, horrific way?
After Su Rui finished speaking, the eyes of everyone in the conference room began to blaze with fury!
Of course, whether that fury was genuine or not was something only they themselves knew.
In truth, Yamamoto Kyokusen’s existence had always been a secret. Even some of Yamamoto Taichiro’s own biological children were unaware of it. These children had already risen to high positions within the Yamamoto Group, each with a chance to compete for the top spot. But now they learned for the first time that their father’s most favored heir was actually his youngest son, Yamamoto Kyokusen, a national-treasure-level jonin. This undoubtedly made their path to the top even harder.
”You’re furious, aren’t you?” Su Rui crossed his arms and smiled. “This is exactly what I wanted to see. If your Yamamoto Group were to collapse right before my eyes, I think I’d be even happier.”
”You will die, you will die a miserable death! I swear it!”
Yamamoto Taichiro said each word slowly and deliberately!
He grabbed his long blade and hacked at the conference table repeatedly!
He had roamed the underworld for so long and had never been this furious! Even when the Yamamoto Group’s headquarters building was rammed and collapsed, he hadn’t lost his composure like this!
”Nearly eight hundred elite fighters lost in China. I’m curious how many samurai and ninja the Yamamoto Group can still field.” Su Rui let out a light laugh, completely unbothered by Yamamoto Taichiro’s threats!
”You will die! You will die!” Yamamoto Taichiro continued to roar, beside himself!
The others in the conference room fell into a grim silence. Indeed, the loss of over seven hundred elite fighters had severely diminished the Yamamoto Group’s deterrent power, and among them were even two top-tier jonin!
To cultivate another such group of warriors would require an unimaginable amount of time and money! Su Rui’s actions had effectively rendered all the investment the Yamamoto Group had poured in over many years completely worthless!
If this happened a few more times, the Yamamoto Group’s destruction would truly not be far off!
Su Rui spread his hands. Dressed in a crimson military uniform, he looked strikingly handsome and upright, his entire bearing having undergone a dramatic transformation:
”Don’t get so worked up, Yamamoto Taichiro. Even if you don’t kill me, I will kill you. The two of us are already locked in a fight to the death.”
”You really will die!” Yamamoto Taichiro said through gritted teeth. At this point, it seemed all he could do was make threats.
”I know I’m going to die. You don’t need to remind me of that. But I also know that I will definitely die later than you… at least a few decades later.”
”And not just you. Everyone in that conference room of yours will die.”
Su Rui extended a finger and swept it across every person in the conference room.
Su Rui’s tone was calm. Though separated from the Yamamoto Group’s temporary headquarters by thousands of miles, through the screen, everyone else in the conference room felt a chill run through them!
That coldness came through the network so vividly, it nearly froze the small space solid!
To be able to conjure such a dense, almost tangible chill with nothing but a few words, how could this Su Rui possibly be an ordinary person!
Everyone present was either a senior figure in the Yamamoto Group or one of Yamamoto Taichiro’s children. Each had lived through the violence of the underworld, and they naturally understood what that chill represented!
It was killing intent!
”That war from decades ago, while it appeared to be a decision made at the national level by the Eastern country, any fool could see it was inseparable from the Yamamoto Group. The Eastern prime minister at the time received your sponsorship throughout the entire election process, didn’t he, Yamamoto Taichiro?”
Old Yamamoto said nothing.
Although that war ultimately ended in the Eastern country’s defeat, the Yamamoto Group had seized the opportunity to infiltrate and extend its reach into every corner of the nation!
This laid an enormous foundation for their later control over the Eastern political landscape!
”Do you have any idea how many people China lost in that war?” At this point, the chill in Su Rui’s voice rose another notch!
”And decades later, today, you continue to lead the Yamamoto Group in its relentless infiltration of China. Assassinations, kidnappings, one incident after another. This time, that damned Inamoto Junichi even kidnapped my sister as a hostage!”
At this, Su Rui’s hand clenched tightly into a fist, veins bulging!
His eyes looked as though they were filled with lightning, blazing with fierce intensity!
”So you people… are unforgivable.”
Su Rui’s tone rose steadily, yet the final words suddenly dropped back to calm, causing everyone’s hearts to clench involuntarily!
Yamamoto Yusei gently steadied his elderly father’s trembling shoulders and fixed Su Rui with a cold stare. “Who forgives whom is not for you to decide. The Yamamoto Group has stood firm in the East for so many years. Do you really think a few words from you can frighten us?”
”Standing firm in the East? You really know how to flatter yourselves. You’re nothing but a gang. Using the word ‘stand firm’ for that is truly shameless boasting.”
”Sharp tongue, iron mouth. Too bad it’s completely useless. We’ll be waiting for you in the East. If you have what it takes, come and kill us. If you don’t, then wait to be killed by us.”
By now Yamamoto Yusei had fully taken over speaking on behalf of Yamamoto Taichiro.
After saying this, Yamamoto Yusei stepped out of the camera’s field of view and said to a subordinate nearby, “Trace the signal immediately. I want to know his exact location.”
”I’ve already started tracing. As long as this video call holds for five minutes, I can guarantee we’ll locate the source.”
”The faster the better.” Yamamoto Yusei glanced at Su Rui’s upright figure on the screen and shook his head with a hint of resignation.
Just as Su Rui had said, by now the two sides were truly locked in a fight to the death.
Having provoked such a troublesome opponent was not something that brought any sense of pleasure.
The loss of nearly eight hundred elite fighters left Yamamoto Yusei feeling a sharp, aching pain!
The subordinate’s hands flew across the keyboard and said quietly, “The other party’s connection doesn’t have a particularly complex password. It should be easy to break through.”
”Then do it faster. The video may not last very long.”
After saying this, Yamamoto Yusei stepped back into the wide-angle camera’s field of view.
”Talking tough doesn’t make you a real hero. Why don’t we pick a place and have a fair fight, blade to blade, gun to gun.”
From the look of it, Yamamoto Yusei intended to drag out the video for a little longer.
”I have no intention of merely talking tough. Yamamoto Group scum, you keep saying you’ll kill me, kill me, but do you even know who I am?”
Su Rui’s words suddenly gave everyone present an ominous feeling!
It seemed he was already preparing to end this conversation!
Many people had involuntarily fixed their gaze on Su Rui’s crimson military uniform!
The golden tassels on his shoulders were so dazzling!
Yamamoto Yusei struggled to suppress the confusion and anger in his heart and said, “No matter who you are, for offending the Yamamoto Group, you will end up with no grave to be buried in!”
”Is that so? You really don’t care who I am?”
Su Rui let out a cold snort, straightened his posture, and then placed the golden eye mask in his hand over his face!
The mere act of putting on the eye mask caused Su Rui’s entire bearing to shift dramatically!
The crimson fitted military uniform, the black combat boots, the golden tassels hanging from his shoulders, and that golden mask that radiated an intertwining sense of cold and heat!
Wait, a golden mask!
In that instant, Yamamoto Yusei’s heart felt as though it had been struck hard by a club, throbbing with a pain that left him speechless!
He finally knew what he had overlooked!
He finally understood why Su Rui’s military uniform had felt so familiar to him!
Because on Su Rui’s left chest, there was a gleaming golden sun medal!
The others in the conference room hadn’t noticed this detail. They only instinctively felt the atmosphere grow even heavier!
”You… you…” Yamamoto Yusei stammered, still trying to say something, when the large screen suddenly blazed to life!
Originally, Su Rui had appeared to be standing in a dark, open space with only a faint beam of white light falling on him, the surroundings invisible. But now, all the lights came on at once, bringing the scene around him into sharp, clear view for everyone!
Su Rui, dressed in his crimson military uniform, stood at the front. His golden mask exuded the aura of someone in absolute command, and behind him stood twelve people!
All twelve were dressed in the same crimson military uniform, though their shoulders bore none of Su Rui’s golden tassels!
Men and women alike, all wearing black eye guards, yet each with a distinctly different bearing!
Each of them held their own weapon, blades and guns of every variety!
At a glance, this was unmistakably an elite combat unit! Every single one of them radiated fierce battle readiness!
From their bearing alone, these mere twelve individuals seemed worth a thousand troops!
Even seen only through a screen, the overwhelming killing intent that surged toward the viewer was unmistakable!
Murderous to the core!
That crimson military uniform, vivid as blood!
Thirteen in total, these thirteen people stood quietly in China, yet it was as though the very atmospheric pressure over the Eastern country had intensified several times over. The conference room at the Yamamoto Group’s temporary headquarters had become suffocatingly oppressive!
Everyone stared wide-eyed, struck speechless!
Even Yamamoto Taichiro clearly hadn’t anticipated this turn of events. His clouded old eyes opened fully, a flicker of shock visible deep within them!
”You are…” Yamamoto Yusei stammered, “You are… you’re people from the Western dark world! You’re from… the Temple of the Sun!”
The Western dark world!
The Temple of the Sun!
Hearing these two names, everyone present drew a sharp breath!
Could it be that Su Rui was Apollo, the Sun God?
Damn it, how had they managed to provoke this great figure!
Su Rui, clad in his crimson military uniform, drew the long sword at his waist and pointed it across the network toward Yamamoto Taichiro, his gaze ice-cold:
”Yamamoto Taichiro, I am now formally declaring to you that I, representing the Temple of the Sun of the Western dark world, hereby declare war on the Yamamoto Group!”
