Today was the seventh day. Xie Chenyuan had been absent-minded all day.
Xu Xinghe was a bit surprised. Xie Chenyuan unexpectedly didn’t cling to her to keep him company today. She thought that since she would be able to come out tonight, she wouldn’t overthink it.
“Eunuch Li, how do I look in this set?” Xie Chenyuan stood before Eunuch Li as if facing a great enemy.
Eunuch Li nodded repeatedly. “Your Majesty possesses a heavenly bearing, elegant and graceful. Your Majesty looks good in anything.” Eunuch Li said words of praise one after another.
But Xie Chenyuan remained unsatisfied. He kept changing into newly made robes. This was his first meeting with the fairy. He had to leave a good impression on her.
It was nearly evening when Xie Chenyuan finally pushed open the door. He didn’t hear any sound from inside. Xing’er must not have come out yet.
Xie Chenyuan sat upright at the table, holding a teacup. He didn’t even notice that the cup was empty and just kept it raised to his lips, dazed.
Would she like his looks? Although many people said he was good-looking, what if Xing’er didn’t like him?
Xie Chenyuan was lost in these thoughts that he didn’t notice the faint white light suddenly emanating from behind him.
Xu Xinghe came out of the painting. The first thing she saw was Xie Chenyuan with his back to her. A sly smile appeared on her face. She quietly walked and covered his eyes.
“Guess who I am?”
Xie Chenyuan only registered a strange fragrance reaching his nose, something like flowers. The next moment, a pair of incredibly soft little hands covered his eyes.
His body tensed up instinctively, a physical response to the unknown. His Adam’s apple bobbed slightly. “Xing’er?”
Xu Xinghe immediately smiled happily. She brought her face close to Xie Chenyuan’s. “Ah Yuan guessed right~”
Xie Chenyuan opened his eyes to see a woman smiling like a coquettish kitten, her eyes as bright as stars. Her beauty was like a flame burning in the deepest darkness.
Her hair cascaded like a waterfall, as if carved from jade. She wore a light white gauze dress. Her skin was as smooth as congealed cream, truly like a fairy descending to the mortal world.
Xie Chenyuan’s dazed expression was all too obvious. Xu Xinghe reached out and poked his cheek. It dented and then bounced back.
Xie Chenyuan’s breath hitched. His eyes turned dark and deep. He caught her mischievous hand in his.
So small, so soft. Xing’er was truly delicate…
Xu Xinghe obediently let his large hand wrap around her small one. Her little finger playfully tickled the inside of his palm.
Her action made Xie Chenyuan lean close to her ear and murmur in a low, gentle voice, “Xing’er… stay with me forever.”
His warm breath brushed against her ear. Xu Xinghe’s ear tips turned red uncontrollably.
Her heart was pounding. Meeting Xie Chenyuan’s almost pleading eyes, she said, “Ah Yuan, I will stay with you forever. Unless you no longer need me.”
Xie Chenyuan buried his head in her shoulder, making his expression unreadable. Xu Xinghe could only see his shoulders slightly trembling. She thought he was moved.
Only Xie Chenyuan himself knew that he was excited. He loved Xing’er so much. His Xing’er…
Xie Chenyuan led Xu Xinghe to a room. He held her hand the entire way. Xu Xinghe noticed how tall he was, at least 190 cm.
Xie Chenyuan pushed open the door. The room was filled with gold, silver, and jewels, as well as priceless paintings, blue-and-white porcelain, night pearls…
Xu Xinghe’s eyes were dazzled. Xie Chenyuan pulled her inside and asked nervously, “Does Xing’er like it? I don’t know what you like. If you don’t like these, I’ll find another batch.”
If Eunuch Li heard this, he would have coughed up blood. He had spent three days and three nights searching for these treasures, and another batch?! That would be the death of him.
Xie Chenyuan’s brow showed a trace of anxiety. He was eager to learn everything about Xing’er, but he was also afraid of rushing things.
