　　As she cried, Danielle Sharp pounded Su Rui’s back with her fists, and he naturally couldn’t fight back, forced to simply endure it.

　　Listening to her words, Su Rui couldn’t help but smile bitterly and shake his head. If it hadn’t been for his own mischievous impulse back then, things between them would never have come to this point.

　　Danielle Sharp was a complete mess of tears and sniffles, overwhelmed with grievance.

　　Su Rui felt wronged too. You want to kill me, and I’m still supposed to treat you well? How is that fair?

　　”Let’s talk this out calmly, no more crying, okay? Can we do that?” Su Rui coaxed helplessly. He really didn’t have much experience with this sort of thing.

　　Danielle at that moment was the spitting image of a petulant little girl, pounding furiously at Su Rui’s chest. There wasn’t a trace of her usual noble bearing.

　　”You won’t listen when I tell you not to cry. Will you at least listen when I tell you to stop hitting me?”

　　”I won’t listen, I won’t listen, why should I listen to you… wuwu…”

　　It felt like Danielle Sharp had cried herself into a complete loss of reason, throwing all concern for her image entirely out the window.

　　”Stop crying!”

　　Su Rui knew that soft words of comfort were useless at a moment like this. He had no choice but to assert his dominant side.

　　But when he shouted, Danielle Sharp only cried harder.

　　Su Rui himself had been driven out of his senses by the crying. He reached out both hands, cupped Danielle Sharp’s face, and just like that, kissed her fiercely.

　　At this rate of explanation, Su Rui could forget about sleeping tonight.

　　Su Rui carried Danielle Sharp without looking back and said, “Obviously to the hotel. Ask Jin Taichu what room number he booked.”

　　”That was fast!”

　　Hearing Su Rui’s utterly commanding declaration, everyone was left speechless. One moment they were trying to kill each other, and the next he was heading to get a room?

　　It’s not that I don’t get it — this world just moves fast.

　　”My lord, it’s room 302 at the hotel up ahead. Go right in.” Jin Taichu called out, and a crowd of men were already eyeing the scene with gleaming looks.

　　Next to Jin Taichu, a short man was holding up his phone, recording everything — from the embrace, to the bridal carry, to the two of them entering the hotel together.

　　Su Rui carried Danielle Sharp straight to the hotel room and set her down on the sofa.

　　Looking at the beautiful woman who was still quietly sobbing, Su Rui let out a soft sigh. “You should hurry up and take a bath. Once you’re done, I’ll help you treat your wounds.”

　　After days of being on the run, Danielle Sharp’s body was covered in injuries. For a woman who cared deeply about her appearance, this was nearly unbearable.

　　Yet Danielle Sharp seemed not to hear a word Su Rui said, still hugging her own shoulders, crying on the sofa without stopping.

　　Su Rui had never seen Danielle Sharp like this before. The impression she had always given was one of strength, pride, and even arrogance. Seeing her like this now was far beyond anything Su Rui had expected.

　　”I told you to go take a bath. Go now.” Without another word, Su Rui pulled Danielle Sharp up from the sofa, dragged her to the bathroom, and pushed her straight into a bathtub full of foam.

　　It seemed that bastard Jin Taichu had actually been thoughtful enough to have the bath ready in advance. The guy probably felt a little guilty too about Su Rui’s rather rough treatment of her over the past few days.

　　”Now… right now… take a bath!”

　　Su Rui held Danielle Sharp’s face in his hands — a face so dirty it was hard to make out her original features — and said, “Starting now, we are not enemies. We are friends. Okay?”

　　Danielle Sharp nodded through her sniffles.

　　”No more talk of killing each other. Okay?”

　　Danielle nodded again.

　　Su Rui was pleased. Not expecting things to go so smoothly, he pushed his luck and said, “How about this — let’s make a deal. If I mess with you again, I’m a worthless scoundrel. And if you come after me again, you’re a bitch. Deal?”

　　Bitch, of course, meaning exactly that.

　　Danielle Sharp had cried herself numb and couldn’t make out a word Su Rui was saying.

　　”Silence means consent.”

　　Su Rui grinned. “But words alone aren’t enough. We need a proper settlement agreement.”

　　With that, he actually pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket. The title at the top read in four large characters — Settlement Agreement.

　　So he had come prepared all along.

　　If Danielle Sharp ever found out that Su Rui had this agreement ready from the very moment he first let her go, who knows what she would have thought.

　　Su Rui then produced an ink pad as if pulling it from thin air, pressed Danielle Sharp’s thumb onto it, then onto the settlement agreement. He looked it over, decided it wasn’t quite secure enough, and went ahead and pressed all ten of her fingerprints, before carefully and contentedly tucking everything away.

　　Giving Danielle Sharp a light pat on the cheek, Su Rui said with a grin, “My dear, you’d better remember — if you ever think about killing me again, you’ll be a little bitch.”
