    Chapter 755: Feasible Dangerous Thoughts

At night, Jesse took Vereesa to the house he had bought for his parents by the canal in the northern Trade District.

Vereesa looked up at the spacious foyer, touched the patterns on the fireplace, and said, "I had always wanted to see this place, Jesse. Look at what you accomplished… it’s a truly beautiful home."

She gazed out the window toward the distant harbor and added, "When I was a child, I always wanted a house by the sea. I have to say, Windrunner’s Tower is too far from the coast, and from up there, you can barely see the sea. By the way, when can you take me to see that mage tower? I finally got here."

Jesse replied, "There will be a chance. I might need to meet with someone from Seek out SI: 7 in the next few days. When will you go back to Quel’Thalas?"

"Then next time, when I get a long absence from Sylvanas," Vereesa said regretfully. "If you have no other matters, I’ll leave tomorrow. After all, what I wanted to know… I already know."

"Will you stay here tonight?" Jesse asked. "Or return to your place in the Mage Quarter?"

"This house is for your parents; how could I stay here first?" Vereesa replied. "Can’t I see your rented place?"

"Molofeel lives there; are you sure?" Jesse asked.

"We’ve lived together before," Vereesa said, crossing her arms. "Do you think I fear her?"

"Fine," she smiled. "I know what kind of demon Sayaad is; I won’t provoke her. I just want to visit and see where you’ve been living."

The two walked west along the canal to Jesse’s rented place in a narrow alley. They pushed the door open, and Molofeel smiled at Jesse at first but paused when she saw the elven woman behind him.

Seeing this, Saenor burst out laughing.

"Ha! I knew it! I knew it! Sayaad, surprised? I told you you were done for! Haha! I felt the elven arcane power from two streets away!"

Molofeel licked her sharp demonic teeth but stayed silent. Vereesa said, "Good evening, Miss Molofeel. Good evening, Saenor."

"Good evening, esteemed Windrunner!" the imp said as it jumped onto the table and then to the window.

Jesse pointed at it. "Get down! Do you want the night patrol soldiers to see green evil fire jumping around my window? You’re brighter than before now; I regret giving you those stones."

"Ah, sorry, master! Don’t regret that…" Saenor hopped back to the table obediently.

Vereesa looked around the small single room. Molofeel, sitting on the bed, asked, "Are you staying the night, Quel’dorei?"

"Just visiting. Don’t worry about your territory being invaded, demon," the elf replied.

"This isn’t my territory; it’s the master’s, and he decides everything. My opinion doesn’t matter," the succubus said coldly, her gaze icy.

"Molofeel," Jesse sighed. "I haven’t seen Vereesa for a while. Isn’t it okay for her to see my room?"

Molofeel tilted her head. "Master doesn’t need to care about my feelings. I’m just a dark piece summoned from the Twisting Nether, without any feelings, like those Felhounds the Doomlord summoned. Once used, I can be thrown away anytime…"

"I never said I’d abandon you, Molofeel," Jesse interrupted.

"Then I’ll take that as sincere, master."

The succubus smiled and glanced at Vereesa, but the elf seemed lost in thought.

"Doomlord?" Vereesa looked up. "You summoned a Doomlord? The leader of the Doomguards?"

"Yes, Windrunner!" the imp shouted. "Lord Kallez, a powerful demon; he let me taste those evil fire stones!"

"I want to know, Molofeel," Vereesa said. "What did you mean about those portals? Can a Doomlord really open a portal to the Twisting Nether?"

As Vereesa asked, Jesse realized her intent.

"His portal only lets a group of Felhounds through," he said.

"Isn’t this the small portal I mentioned to you in Kalimdor, Jesse?" Vereesa said anxiously. "Maybe I shouldn’t bring it up again, but…"

"He can only summon a group of Felhounds because he was badly weakened when he came to Azeroth, master," Saenor explained. "If he got his full power back, I wouldn’t be surprised if a whole group of Doomguards came through the portal!"

Vereesa asked, "Can he open a small portal to Draenor for us?"

"Cost, Quel’dorei," Molofeel said. "It takes a lot of magical power, even for a small portal. Coming from the Twisting Nether is easier than going from Azeroth to Draenor. Also, you need Draenor’s coordinates to target the portal, which aren’t easy to get."

"But that Doomlord has that power, right?" the elf asked.

"Yes, from what I know of the Burning Legion," Molofeel said. "They send Doomlords to keep those big legion portals going because they’re good at it."

"Yeah, I forgot!" the imp pointed at the succubus. "Isn’t she a mage who can hold portals? We don’t need the Kirin Tor or to bring back Medivh who opened the Dark Portal… we have our own mage! And she’s perfect for it!"

The elf looked eagerly at Jesse, waiting for his okay. Jesse stared at her. "Calm down, Vereesa. I hadn’t thought of this before. It’s too important and dangerous; we need to think it over. Right now, I can’t let that Doomlord get his full power back. I’m afraid it could get out of hand."

Vereesa froze, lowered her head, and swallowed. "Yes, I… I feel like I’m not myself, Jesse. Sorry."

Jesse said, "Be patient and trust your sister—I mean Captain Alleria Windrunner. Give me time to think about this… let’s not rush. For now, let’s go on with our lives and keep it secret. Don’t tell anyone except Greed."

    "I remember," Vereesa nodded.
