Chapter 968: Just Wait and Watch the Show!
“As a VIP of Lingbao Pavilion, is there anything you require?”
Su Yi was led by Shopkeeper Xiahou into the inner section of Lingbao Pavilion and up to a refined room on the top floor. There, a disciple of Lingbao Pavilion served him an exquisite tea.
“Shopkeeper Xiahou, there’s no need to be overly courteous. I simply have some items to sell.”
Su Yi spoke, addressing Shopkeeper Xiahou.
After the recent auction, he had gained an understanding of the incredible value of the Lingbao Pavilion Black Card, which is why he had taken it out just now.
However, Su Yi felt a little uneasy. The debt he owed Lingbao Pavilion, an enormous sum of Yuan Stones, weighed heavily on him. He wasn’t sure when he would be able to pay it back.
This is why, despite having the Black Card, Su Yi chose to remain polite to Shopkeeper Xiahou rather than acting entitled as a VIP.
Moreover, Su Yi had picked up on something.
Although Shopkeeper Xiahou treated him with the utmost courtesy, just like a VIP, he didn’t display the shock that other members of Lingbao Pavilion had shown.
“This Shopkeeper Xiahou must hold a significant position!”
Su Yi thought to himself, sensing that the middle-aged man in front of him had an influential standing in Lingbao Pavilion. He found himself curious about how he had come to be in Sword Star City.
“As an honored guest of Lingbao Pavilion, if you require anything, just let me know!” Shopkeeper Xiahou said with a warm smile.
Su Yi nodded, then immediately began to take out a bag from which he retrieved a large collection of medicinal herbs and various bottles.
Su Yi had prepared to sell some of his herbs and elixirs, so he was well-prepared, having already taken the items from his mysterious space.
Upon seeing these items, Shopkeeper Xiahou raised an eyebrow in surprise. He picked up one of the plants and began examining it closely.
“This is Flame Spirit Grass… it’s almost at Star grade!”
Shopkeeper Xiahou exclaimed, his voice filled with admiration.
The plant in his hand was indeed Flame Spirit Grass, a well-known medicinal herb.
Typically, Flame Spirit Grass is found at the early stages of Star grade, but the one Shopkeeper Xiahou was holding had reached the quasi-Star grade—almost transcending an entire level. This made it all the more astonishing to him.
“And these…”
Shopkeeper Xiahou was just getting started in his amazement. As he continued inspecting the other items, he realized that all of them exceeded his expectations in terms of quality. This left him speechless.
“Such an extraordinary find!”
Shopkeeper Xiahou said, clearly impressed. He was dying to ask where this young man had obtained these top-tier herbs, but he didn’t know how to phrase the question.
“This pill…”
Despite his best efforts to suppress his astonishment, Shopkeeper Xiahou’s eyes widened as he opened a bottle of pills.
With his abilities, it was clear that the pills inside were far from ordinary. Unlike the other herbs, these had surpassed their expected quality.
This realization only deepened his surprise.
“How much would you like to sell these rare herbs and pills for, honored guest?”
Finally, Shopkeeper Xiahou calmed himself and asked Su Yi.
Normally, these items wouldn’t have fetched a high price, but with their superior quality, their effectiveness was greatly enhanced, thus raising their value. They could easily be exchanged for a substantial amount of Yuan Stones.
“Just give me an estimate at Lingbao Pavilion. I also plan to pick up some things, and you can deduct the cost from my debt. As for the remaining amount, you don’t need to return it—it can be considered as payment toward my outstanding balance with Lingbao Pavilion.”
Su Yi explained. He had gained trust in the reputation of Lingbao Pavilion and believed they wouldn’t deceive him.
However, when thinking about the enormous debt of one billion one-star Yuan Stones, Su Yi couldn’t help but feel uneasy.
With his current earnings from selling medicines and his battles, he doubted he’d be able to repay such a massive debt in a year’s time.
But at least he could make a dent in it!
“Excellent! Please wait here for a moment, I’ll arrange everything!”
Shopkeeper Xiahou didn’t ask further questions. He simply nodded and turned to leave.
Su Yi also didn’t linger. He roamed around Lingbao Pavilion and casually selected some pills and an assortment of fresh spiritual herbs.
The possibilities of that mysterious space seemed boundless!
It would be wonderful to cultivate a large quantity of spiritual herbs. If he could produce a few tons or even tens of tons of pills to enhance their quality, Su Yi would be wealthier than ever!
But that was merely a thought. The costs involved in such a venture would certainly be astronomical.
When Su Yi had finished making his selections, Shopkeeper Xiahou reappeared.
He provided Su Yi with the price list for the items, as well as the amount of Yuan Stones Su Yi would receive in exchange.
After deducting the cost of Su Yi’s purchases, the remaining sum was applied to reduce his debt.
“Thank you, Shopkeeper Xiahou!”
Su Yi didn’t stay long. He turned and left Lingbao Pavilion.
Watching the young man leave, Shopkeeper Xiahou’s eyes showed a hint of surprise.
He couldn’t quite figure out this boy.
“Sir, who exactly is this young man?” an elderly man asked, appearing behind Shopkeeper Xiahou and speaking with respect.
“To be so young, to already possess a black card, and to owe Lingbao Pavilion a staggering debt… he must be the one from the rumors!”
A faint smile appeared on Shopkeeper Xiahou’s face as he thought of the mysterious figure mentioned in stories.
In the current world, only a handful of people could possess a Lingbao Pavilion Black Card, and now, the boy’s identity seemed clear.
“Could it be… that the black card he holds was signed by that person?” The old man’s expression changed, shock crossing his face.
“That person’s insight is extraordinary. This young man is really difficult to grasp. It seems like people from the Central Region are searching for him everywhere, but he ended up in this Chaos Realm—truly unexpected.” Shopkeeper Xiahou sighed, feeling a touch of nostalgia, before a faint smile crept back onto his lips.
Shopkeeper Xiahou became increasingly intrigued by this young man, Su Yi.
“Sir, the people from the Seven Star Sword Sect are still waiting outside, clearly intending to harm this young man. Should we…?” the elderly man asked, raising his eyes.
Ordinarily, Lingbao Pavilion wouldn’t interfere with such matters.
But this young man was different. He carried a Lingbao Pavilion Black Card, signed by that person. Therefore, they couldn’t ignore him.
If trouble arose, Lingbao Pavilion would certainly intervene if necessary.
“You’re overthinking it!”
Shopkeeper Xiahou chuckled, turning away. However, his words lingered in the old man’s ears: “Anyone who holds my Lingbao Pavilion Black Card can’t be ordinary. Let’s sit back and watch. The Seven Star Sword Sect is in for a rough time!”
