Chapter 959: A Precious Gift for You!
Ji Hanluo’s eyes glimmered as she looked at her father. Without hesitation, she spoke,
“Dad, I’m your only daughter. If it weren’t for him, I could have fallen into the hands of the Sea Dragon Gang. You wouldn’t have been able to see me again. We owe him a favor at Mysterious Sword Gate, and I owe him as well.”
Hearing his daughter’s words, Ji Tianfu’s gaze flickered, and then he gave a faint smile, saying,
“Hanno, it seems that you care about this Su Yi a great deal.”
“No, I only owe him a favor, nothing more.”
Ji Hanluo immediately spoke, her voice dropping slightly, and a faint blush appeared on her cheeks.
In the ancient jungle, towering boulders loomed.
Two figures moved rapidly, the sound of wind cutting through the air, and in an instant, they were above the jungle. It was Yang Baikun and Wei Yidao.
As Yang Baikun’s figure appeared, his eyes locked onto the jungle below. His gaze turned cold as he said,
“What a crafty kid, taking detours, deliberately masking his presence, and turning back midway, thinking he can escape. Let’s see how far you can go!”
“Swoosh, swoosh…”
Two figures darted quickly into the ancient jungle.
The towering ancient trees, their crowns reaching far into the sky, were covered with dense vines that spiraled around them like dragons.
“Boss, there seem to be many signs of magical creatures in here.”
Su Xiaoshuai perched on Su Yi’s shoulder, his curious eyes scanning the surroundings. He didn’t seem to mind, as nothing about these magical creatures posed any threat to him.
“Stay cautious.”
Su Yi, ever vigilant, used his spiritual power to sense the presence of numerous magical creatures nearby, some of which were very powerful.
“Roarrrr…”
Ferocious monsters lurked nearby, their fierce eyes glowing as they glared at Su Yi, letting out deep growls. However, as they drew nearer, they suddenly froze, fear washing over them, and they couldn’t move.
“Something’s wrong!”
Suddenly, Su Yi halted. His gaze turned upward toward a giant tree in front of him, its branches and vines twisting like snakes.
A small figure was standing on a vine, as thick as a meter in diameter, watching Su Yi with curiosity.
The figure was incredibly small, no larger than a three-year-old child. Yet, despite its size, its face appeared ancient, as though it had lived for fifty years. It wore an oversized white robe, making its body seem even more mismatched.
As Su Yi looked at the child-like old man, his soul quivered.
In the old man’s eerie eyes, a strange white light flickered continuously, exuding an unsettling aura. The mere glance sent chills down one’s spine.
“A very powerful and terrifying being, the Demonic Emperor!”
Su Yi’s heart tightened. He instinctively knew that this seemingly innocent, child-like old man was an incredibly powerful figure, the Demonic Emperor. The strange aura around him was affecting Su Yi’s Heavenly Yuan Demonic Soul, confirming that this was no ordinary Demonic Emperor.
“Big brother, it’s the Demonic Emperor Realm!”
Su Xiaoshuai also sensed the old man’s presence. His eyes sparkled with curiosity, but he wasn’t overly concerned.
“It’s just a little human.”
The old man, with the body of a child, looked at Su Yi and spoke in a sharp, unsettling tone. It was shocking to see a human boy here.
The white-robed old man attempted to probe Su Yi but became increasingly puzzled. For some reason, he couldn’t fully understand the aura emanating from the boy.
Hearing Su Xiaoshuai’s words, the old man’s eyes turned toward the small bird. His pupils gleamed with a mysterious white light, revealing a hint of surprise.
Out of nowhere, he felt a terrifying aura emanating from the bird, which sent a tremor of fear through his instincts.
“What’s so remarkable about the Demonic Emperor Realm? Step aside!”
Su Xiaoshuai glared at the old man, his voice laced with arrogance. As a phoenix hatchling, with phoenix blood coursing through his veins, he had an inherent royal demeanor, one that commanded respect from all.
Upon hearing Su Xiaoshuai’s words, the old man in white was momentarily taken aback. He began to tremble, seemingly overwhelmed by the invisible pressure.
But then, the old man’s expression turned cold. The little bird before him, clearly only in the Demonic Void Realm, had dared to act so boldly. A chilling aura erupted from him, dispelling the unwarranted pressure. He hissed,
“You have quite the audacity. Do you seek death?”
“Let’s see who wants to die!”
Su Xiaoshuai’s anger flared. His wings fluttered, his eyes glowing with phoenix light. As a being with a phoenix bloodline, he would never tolerate such provocation.
“There’s no escape now. Let’s see where you try to run!”
As Su Xiaoshuai’s voice echoed, a deep, furious voice rang out from the empty space behind them, shaking the mountains and trees. Ferocious birds flapped their wings, and savage beasts roared.
“Oh no, they’re closing in quickly!”
Su Yi’s expression changed immediately. The expert from the Golden Sword Sect’s Yuan Emperor Realm had caught up faster than expected. Despite their efforts to conceal their presence and use various evasive maneuvers, they couldn’t escape the relentless pursuit of the Yuan Emperor.
At the same time, the old man in the white robe slightly lifted his eyes, glancing toward the empty space ahead.
Su Yi shifted his gaze quickly, gritting his teeth. He looked at the old man and said,
“Respected Demon Emperor, I am willing to offer you a precious treasure. Will you let us go?”
The old man in white looked surprised. He gave Su Yi a cold smile, his voice harsh, like the caw of a crow, and he asked,
“Little human, what treasure could you possibly have that would interest me? If it’s truly valuable, I might consider sparing you all.”
“I offer this item to the revered Demon Emperor. I ask you to spare us.”
Su Yi spoke, his gaze unwavering. The golden light flickered in his hand as he threw something toward the old man in white.
The old man in white appeared slightly skeptical. He reached out, an invisible force enveloping his hand. He felt nothing unusual at first. But as he held the item, a curved bow, it radiated with a powerful aura. He was immediately moved and said,
“It’s damaged, but it’s still a middle-grade Dao Tool!”
A middle-grade Dao Tool, though damaged, was incredibly tempting for a Demonic Emperor. It was undoubtedly a rare and precious item.
“Boss, you…”
Su Xiaoshuai was stunned, watching how the boss had willingly handed over a middle-grade Dao Tool to the Demon Emperor. He couldn’t understand it, as this was not the boss’s usual behavior.
Su Yi stayed silent, giving a subtle signal to Su Xiaoshuai with his eyes.
“Alright, it’s a decent treasure. Since you have this, I’ll let you go without harm!” The old man in white gave Su Yi and Su Xiaoshuai a cold look.
“Senior Demon Emperor, I’ve given you the treasure. Why would you want to kill us? You can’t go back on your word!” Su Yi’s face shifted, and he instinctively took a few steps back.
