Chapter 939: Mysterious Test!
The vast space stretched endlessly, with a blurry emptiness all around. Yet, it shimmered with light, like a boundless river of stars.
In this infinite expanse, the stars sparkled brilliantly. At the center of it all, a colossal golden dragon spanned the void, its five claws gripping five stars. Its immense body was half-submerged in the depths of the endless starry void, and its deep, serene eyes shone as brightly as the most dazzling star.
This scene struck the soul with awe at first glance. It instilled an overwhelming sense of insignificance, as though one were but a mere droplet in an ocean. The sheer majesty of it evoked a deep reverence, fear, and worship from the soul’s core.
As Su Yi stepped into this space, he was overwhelmed by the sight before him. His soul quivered, and an uncontrollable urge to kneel and worship surged through him.
Suddenly, the Heavenly Yuan Demonic Soul in Su Yi’s mind stirred, resisting the terrifying, invisible pressure and allowing him to regain his composure.
“This is… a dragon, a real dragon!”
Gazing at the colossal being, Su Yi instinctively recognized it as a true dragon. It wasn’t a snake dragon, a coiling dragon, or a mixed breed. This was a legendary Five-Clawed Golden Dragon. Its five claws clutched clouds, and its entire body radiated golden light.
Su Yi was awestruck. According to legend, dragons, phoenixes, and other divine creatures had vanished in the passage of time, buried in the annals of history, never to be seen again.
But Su Xiaoshuai was clearly a baby phoenix. And now, a Five-Clawed Golden Dragon stood before him, making Su Yi’s heart pound wildly. The sight of a true dragon was unimaginable—so extraordinary that no one would believe it if he tried to recount it.
“Is this the human boy you were referring to?”
The dragon’s thunderous voice rumbled through the space as it hovered above, its immense eyes scrutinizing Su Yi. It spoke in a commanding tone, its voice resounding like the roar of thunder.
“Not bad, not bad. This is my boss, and my boss is definitely the most amazing human. He’ll meet all your requirements for sure. You’ve picked the right person,” Su Xiaoshuai said eagerly, nodding repeatedly. His little head bobbed like a chick pecking at grains, and he cast a furtive glance at Su Yi.
“What’s going on?”
Su Yi was utterly bewildered. He had no idea what was happening. His confused gaze fell on Su Xiaoshuai, seeking answers.
“To have formed a contract with a phoenix, you must indeed be extraordinary,” the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon said. “I have waited for countless years, but none have ever been qualified. Let us see if you are different.”
As the dragon’s words echoed, its eyes blazed like stars. The surrounding void trembled, and the river of stars rippled, releasing endless streams of radiant light.
“Don’t worry, Big Brother,” Su Xiaoshuai whispered reassuringly, his voice ringing in Su Yi’s ears. “Just do your best. This is a great opportunity—we can’t afford to miss it.”
“Boom!”
The scenery shifted abruptly before Su Yi’s eyes. He found himself standing on an immense expanse of land, surrounded by a hazy, fluctuating void.
“Human, this is the first test,” the dragon’s voice boomed once again. “Although my dragon clan is not the strongest race in this world, our physical strength is unmatched. This first trial will test the limits of your physical body.
“In this space, all external forces are restricted, but your own cultivation and strength remain unaffected. Give it everything you have.
“This is not merely a test—it is an opportunity. Over tens of thousands of years, thousands of extraordinarily gifted individuals have been chosen to undertake this trial. Each of them possessed Heavenly Grade potential, destined for greatness and unparalleled achievements.
“But of those thousands, only eight have succeeded. If you manage to pass this test, you will be the ninth—and the final one!”
The voice of the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon echoed through the void. As its words faded, a frosty atmosphere engulfed the space.
“Senior, could you please explain the test more clearly?” Su Yi shouted, clueless about the challenge he was about to face.
For tens of thousands of years, thousands of individuals with Heavenly Grade potential had undergone this test. It was said that each of them caused a phenomenon in the heavens and on earth and was destined to reign supreme, revered by all living beings. Yet, among these extraordinary beings, only eight had succeeded. This shocking revelation left Su Yi speechless.
The Five-Clawed Golden Dragon completely ignored Su Yi, not even acknowledging his plea.
Soon, the sky became dense with falling snow. The land and mountains emerged blanketed in pristine white, while rivers and glaciers froze solid. A bone-chilling cold swept through the storm, filling the air with an intense frost.
“So cold!” Su Yi exclaimed, shivering uncontrollably.
This cold was unlike any ordinary chill—it penetrated his very soul, freezing his vitality, organs, and spirit. It felt as though his life force was being drained, leaving him trembling in its grip.
Squinting his eyes, Su Yi realized, thanks to Su Xiaoshuai’s reminder, that this was part of the test. Passing it would bring unimaginable rewards, but failure meant freezing to death in this frigid domain.
“Bring it on!” Su Yi declared, determination flaring in his gaze.
He activated the Supreme Chaotic Yuan Technique, channeling his physical strength to resist the icy assault. The fluctuations of the Heavenly Yuan Demonic Soul within his mind dispelled the cold invading his soul.
As the Supreme Chaotic Yuan Technique began to circulate, the frost was driven away, providing Su Yi with some relief.
“Whoosh…”
In the distance, atop a glacier, shimmering lights appeared, as if marking the entrance to something.
“Is that it?” Su Yi muttered, his eyes glowing faintly red as he fixed his gaze on the light.
Without hesitation, he began to move forward.
Inside this space, an immense force of confinement weighed on him. Each step felt as though he carried thousands of pounds, and every movement was slow and laborious. Yet, the burden remained within his limits of endurance.
One step, two steps, eight steps, eighteen steps…
Each step was a monumental effort, draining Su Yi’s strength.
“Splash…”
Suddenly, a fierce storm erupted, hurling torrents of ice and snow. The hurricane-like winds howled, the cold intensifying to an unbearable degree.
“Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!”
Within the hurricane, razor-sharp ice knives hurtled toward Su Yi.
The knives, imbued with bone-chilling cold, pierced through his protective aura, shredding it to pieces. They struck his body, tearing through his clothes and leaving bloody gashes on his skin. The biting cold seeped into his wounds, spreading rapidly through his body.
Thankfully, Su Yi’s immensely strong physique revealed its terrifying resilience at this critical moment.
Drawing on the Supreme Chaotic Yuan Technique, he resisted the invasive cold. Yet, despite his efforts, the frost continued to infiltrate his organs and bones, challenging his limits with each passing moment.
