Chapter 930: An Acquaintance!
“That kid was acting suspicious. If I hadn’t spotted him, we would’ve killed him. But since he said he was looking for someone, the Wolf-headed Demon Bat and I brought him back,” Su Xiaoshuai explained.
“Could it be…?”
Su Yi’s expression shifted as a thought crossed his mind.
The moon hung high in the sky, its soft light spilling over the mountains. Nightfall had blanketed the world in shadows.
Inside the grand hall, Su Yi stood face-to-face with the person Su Xiaoshuai and the Wolf-headed Demon Bat had brought back—a young man about Feng Qier’s age, appearing to be twenty-one or twenty-two.
The man was dressed simply in a tight-fitting shirt that emphasized his lean but muscular physique. His kind face was marred by bloodstains, his hair disheveled, and his body bore visible injuries.
As the young man took in the sight of Su Yi surrounded by the beasts in the grand hall, his deep, black eyes widened in shock, as though he had seen a ghost. Words failed him.
“It’s really you,” Su Yi said, his expression softening slightly.
The young man was none other than Feng Pu, a former close companion of Feng Qier. Su Yi had suspected as much.
He recalled the day he had been carried away from the Feng family’s domain by the Golden Gryphon. From a distance, he had noticed someone leaving the Feng family grounds, likely in pursuit of him. Now it was clear—it had been Feng Pu. The purpose of his journey was evident: Feng Qier.
From the Wolf-headed Demon Bat’s account, Su Yi learned that Feng Pu had been in grave danger, nearly falling victim to a demon beast. Fortunately, the Wolf-headed Demon Bat and Su Xiaoshuai had intervened after hearing him call out Feng Qier’s name. Recognizing the connection, they had decided to save him.
“How are you… not dead?”
After a long silence, Feng Pu finally spoke. His voice was filled with disbelief as he stared at Su Yi. His bewilderment grew—how was this young man alive, and why did he appear to hold a position of influence within the Demon Emperor’s domain?
“It wasn’t easy getting here,” Su Yi admitted.
He couldn’t help but feel impressed. Feng Pu, despite being only at the Demonic Spirit Realm in cultivation, had managed to travel all the way from the Feng family’s territory to this dangerous place teeming with demon beasts. It was a miracle he had survived. However, Su Yi knew that the chaos caused by the Yin-Yang Dark Emperor’s attack on the Feng family had inadvertently provided an opportunity for Feng Pu to slip through. Without the timely intervention of the Wolf-headed Demon Bat and Su Xiaoshuai, he would have perished.
“If you’re alive, then where is Feng Qier? How is she doing?”
Feng Pu’s voice trembled with a mix of nervousness and hope. If Su Yi was unharmed, there was a chance Feng Qier was safe too.
“Feng Qier is safe and well,” Su Yi replied, his tone steady.
He understood the bond between Feng Pu and Feng Qier. Feng Pu had been willing to risk everything to leave with her that fateful night in the square. Feng Qier had also spoken of him fondly, recounting his unwavering loyalty.
“Where is she now? I want to see her,” Feng Pu said, relief washing over his pale, bloodstained face. A faint smile broke through his weariness.
“Answer some questions for me first,” Su Yi said, his curiosity piqued. “Are you not afraid of death, coming all the way here?”
“I am afraid,” Feng Pu admitted after a pause. “But I’d rather die with Feng Qier than live without her. She’s been alone since childhood, and I’ve always been her only friend. I can’t let her be alone in death too.”
From Feng Pu’s account, Su Yi learned that he had come fully prepared to die. He knew Feng Qier would never agree to leave secretly with him if it meant putting her family in danger. Determined to find her, he had left the Feng family in secret and ventured into the territory of the Yin-Yang Dark Emperor. Though he understood he had no chance of defeating the powerful demon beasts, he was willing to sacrifice himself for even a slim chance of saving her—or at least dying by her side.
“You truly are brave,” Su Yi said, a hint of admiration in his voice.
Su Yi whispered softly, but as he observed Feng Pu, his gaze grew increasingly appreciative. It was rare to encounter someone like him within the Feng family.
“Where is Feng Qier? I want to see her,” Feng Pu pleaded. He wasn’t sure why this young man was here, but it was clear that Su Yi held significant authority in this place—even the fierce demon beasts seemed to obey him.
“Feng Qier is occupied with some matters right now. It may take a few days before she’s free to meet you. For now, you should go and focus on healing. When she’s available, I’ll have her come to see you,” Su Yi replied.
After speaking, Su Yi gestured to the Wolf-headed Demon Bat, signaling it to escort Feng Pu away.
“No, I want to see Feng Qier now,” Feng Pu insisted, doubting Su Yi’s words and eager to see Feng Qier immediately.
However, Su Yi remained firm and said no more. He directed the Wolf-headed Demon Bat to carry Feng Pu away, also handing him a healing potion.
“This human is not bad,” commented the Green Emperor, standing beside Su Yi.
Su Yi smiled faintly, unsure of how to handle Feng Pu, especially now that the Feng family seemed to have been dismantled.
“Yin-yang Dark Emperor is back,” the Green Emperor suddenly said, glancing toward the entrance of the hall.
Su Yi raised his head, narrowing his eyes. His sharp soul power immediately detected the presence—it was indeed Yin-yang Dark Emperor.
“Swoosh…”
A streak of light quickly appeared outside the hall. It was Yin-yang Dark Emperor, who didn’t need to sense Su Yi’s presence inside; their Demon Spirit Contract allowed him to locate his master effortlessly.
“All the problems have been resolved completely, and it was easier than expected,” Yin-yang Dark Emperor reported. His mission had been to expel the Feng family from their territory without causing unnecessary damage. Surprisingly, the task had gone smoothly.
“Keep a close eye on them,” Su Yi instructed. “The Feng family might attempt to return, unwilling to give up that place.”
“We’re already monitoring them. If they come back, we’ll kill them!” Yin-yang Dark Emperor said without hesitation.
“Hm,” Su Yi nodded. This was the price the Feng family had to pay. They weren’t good people, and Su Yi had shown mercy this time only because of Feng Qier. However, if they attempted to return, there would be no further leniency—only decisive action would instill fear in them.
Su Yi’s elder brother, Xi Wuqing, had already left for a task, and his return would take about ten days to two weeks. Although the Feng family had been expelled, Su Yi considered the location to be well-hidden and potentially safe. However, it wasn’t the right time to move in just yet.
For the next few days, Su Yi focused entirely on practicing the Thirteen Swords of the Roaring Gale in the back mountains, with the Dark Golden Demon Falcon standing guard.
The Green Emperor and Yin-yang Dark Emperor remained at the residence, ensuring everything was secure. This was the Chaos Realm, and for the first time in a long while, Su Yi felt an unparalleled sense of peace. Immersed in his practice of the Thirteen Swords of the Roaring Gale, he was entirely undistracted and fully committed to *honing his skills.
