Chapter 667: The Green Emperor’s Despair!
Su Xiaoshuai’s small belly seemed like a bottomless pit.
It was truly astonishing how much snake soup he could consume.
After filling his stomach, Su Yi sat cross-legged. The nourishing snake soup helped him recover, while lingering wounds from his earlier battle with the Green Emperor still required healing.
“Ah…”
Su Xiaoshuai let out a satisfied burp, flapped his wings, and patted his round tummy. Then, he shifted aside, closed his eyes slightly, and his body began to glow faintly.
The Wolf-headed Demon Bat and the Dark Golden Demon Falcon also seemed to have benefited. They each moved aside and began meditating, absorbing the essence of the snake stew.
Time passed, and tranquility settled over the mysterious space.
The Green Emperor Crying Snake lay bleeding profusely, its massive body twitching in agony. Its bronze-like eyes flickered weakly as if deep in thought.
“Ooo…”
Suddenly, a flash of fierceness appeared in the Green Emperor’s eyes. In an instant, it surged up, releasing another burst of energy. Its massive maw gaped open as it lunged straight at Su Yi.
“Boom! Boom! Boom!”
A volley of crimson lightning struck again. The Green Emperor was flung back, fresh wounds riddling its body, its four wings shattered beyond recognition.
“Woo… woo…” The Green Emperor wailed in pain, its beastly soul quivering with terror.
Su Yi, seated in meditation, opened his eyes briefly, casting a cold glance at the Green Emperor, then closed them again, continuing his breathing exercises.
The Green Emperor was overcome with fear. Its internal energy was in complete disarray. Any fluctuation would invite immediate punishment from the terrifying lightning. In its current pitiful state, it couldn’t even self-detonate its demonic core. Any attempt to do so would be mercilessly intercepted by the lightning strikes.
Hours passed. The crimson light around Su Yi gradually dimmed as he opened his eyes.
Feeling the changes within his body, Su Yi smiled faintly. The snake soup had indeed been beneficial, further strengthening his cultivation in the ninth level of the Yuan Spirit Realm.
Su Xiaoshuai, the Dark Golden Demon Falcon, and the Wolf-headed Demon Bat were still refining their gains.
Su Yi turned to look at the Green Emperor. His gaze alone made the Green Emperor tremble in fear, expecting another round of torment.
“What… do you want?” the Green Emperor asked, voice laced with dread.
The once-proud Green Emperor had thought this was its moment of triumph, a chance to reign supreme. Now, it realized its arrogance had sealed its doom. Underestimating a mere human in the Yuan Spirit Realm had led to this miserable fate. Even as a Demonic Emperor, it had been utterly subdued, unable to self-destruct.
“What do I want?”
Su Yi raised an eyebrow, contemplating his next move. Initially, he had planned to eliminate the Crying Snake to protect Man City. Now, with the Green Emperor trapped in this space, utterly powerless, he hesitated. Ending its life seemed almost wasteful.
“How about I give you a chance to submit?” Su Yi asked, studying the Green Emperor. A Demonic Emperor at his command would be far more valuable than a mere demonic core.
His recent experiences had taught him that individual strength alone wasn’t enough. The power of an organization—like the fearsome Sacred Mountain—came from the combined might of its elite forces. If he wanted to stand against such formidable opponents, he couldn’t rely on himself alone.
“Hah! You’re delusional! I am a Demon Emperor! You think I’d submit to a mere human?” the Green Emperor spat. Even in its wretched state, it clung to its pride. It would rather perish than kneel before a human.
“If that’s how you feel, then so be it.”
Su Yi shook his head. Even if the Green Emperor claimed loyalty now, he wouldn’t trust it easily.
“Boss!”
“Sir!”
Su Xiaoshuai, Wolfbat, and the Dark Golden Demon Falcon had all finished their refinement and stood before Su Yi.
“That was delicious. When can we have more snake soup?” Su Xiaoshuai licked his beak, glancing at the Green Emperor. Just thinking about the flavor made him drool.
The Green Emperor shuddered. He had seen firsthand the terrifying appetite of this little bird. For some inexplicable reason, even his soul trembled in response.
“We’ll eat later. First, we need to move,” Su Yi said. The Forest of Demons was far from safe. It was best to leave as soon as possible. The Black Fiend School and Emperor Blazing Dragon were potential threats—especially the latter, who had managed to lure the Green Emperor into a trap. Who knew what else he was capable of?
Moments later, in the valley, Wolfbat unfurled its wings and carried Su Yi skyward. Su Yi sat cross-legged on its back, forming hand seals and continuing his meditation.
Su Xiaoshuai perched on Su Yi’s shoulder, eyes brimming with curiosity as he observed the surroundings. Occasionally, he would spread his wings and race ahead of Wolfbat, zipping through the sky with excitement.
Su Yi had decided not to let Su Xiaoshuai remain freely in the mysterious space anymore. The little bird’s appetite was simply too unpredictable—who knew when he might decide to take a bite out of the Green Emperor?
After all, Ling Qianxue had once mentioned that Su Xiaoshuai’s sustenance came from consuming the flesh and blood of demon beasts.
As they soared through the sky over the Forest of Demons, powerful aerial beasts occasionally passed by. Sensing Wolfbat’s formidable aura, they wisely kept their distance.
Traveling with Wolfbat made things much easier for Su Yi.
As night fell, Su Yi found a secluded and safe place to rest. He decided to spend the night in the mysterious space before resuming his journey. Even Wolfbat needed rest.
“Boy, this isn’t over…!”
A shriek echoed through the mysterious space. The pitiful Green Emperor howled as Su Yi carved several pounds of flesh from its body. The moment it attempted to resist, another ruthless bolt of lightning struck it down.
With skilled precision, Su Yi prepared another large pot of snake soup, filling the air with an intoxicating aroma.
“So good!” Su Xiaoshuai’s mouth watered as he eagerly anticipated the feast.
Before long, Su Yi, Su Xiaoshuai, the Wolf-headed Demon Bat, and the Dark Golden Demon Falcon were indulging in their meal. Each bite of the Crying Snake’s flesh, infused with spiritual medicine, enhanced their cultivation.
“Ohhh… ohhh…!” The Green Emperor’s mournful cries echoed, its agony unbearable.
At dawn, Wolfbat took flight once more, carrying Su Yi toward the Chaos Realm.
Su Xiaoshuai soared joyously through the sky, darting up and down, his excitement boundless.
