Chapter 659: News Received!
As the figure descended, the already trembling demon beasts quivered even more.
It was an elderly woman, roughly sixty years old, dressed in simple, worn clothes, with silver hair. Her face was lined with wrinkles, but her eyes still radiated with a striking brilliance.
If Su Yi had been present, he would have immediately recognized her. She was an old servant who had been with the Su family for many years.
The old woman trembled as she gently lifted Su Wan’er, her face brimming with excitement. She whispered softly, “Miss, the old servant can finally return you to your home.”
Overcome with emotion, the old woman prepared to leave. But suddenly, she noticed Wang Shangwu standing before her. She spoke in a gentle tone, “You, despite lacking talent, have shown great character. You’ve cared for Miss—this will be your favor. I will bring you along with us. Your future benefits will depend on your own fate.”
With those words, the seemingly frail old woman effortlessly carried Su Wan’er in one hand and Wang Shangwu in the other, and in an instant, they vanished.
…
A distant “Roarrrr…” echoed through the devastated forest. Tall trees lay shattered, and rocks were broken into pieces.
In the distance, many formidable demon beasts appeared, growling ominously. Yet, sensing a powerful and fearful presence, they dared not approach.
As dusk descended, Su Yi arrived at the site.
“Roarrrr…”
The surrounding demon beasts growled softly. They seemed to sense Su Yi’s aura and kept their distance, filled with awe.
“We’ve likely found the right place. There’s an unusual and potent energy here,” Ling Qianxue’s voice echoed in Su Yi’s mind.
“This energy feels strange, something is off. I wonder what happened,” Su Yi thought, sensing an ancient and powerful force. Just moments before, a loud disturbance had shaken the area.
“Do you know what happened?” Su Yi asked, capturing a demon beast nearby with his extraordinary abilities, but the beast provided no answer. None of the demon beasts seemed to know what had just taken place.
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew through the air, and the Wolf-headed Demon Bat swooped toward Su Yi, landing swiftly before him.
“Master, we have news,” it declared.
“Have you found the person we’ve been searching for?” Su Yi asked, eager to know.
“We haven’t located them yet, but we do have some information,” the Wolf-headed Demon Bat responded in its beastly language.
“Howl…”
After a short while, several fierce demon beasts crawled on the ground, looking up at Su Yi, their eyes full of fear. These were the very same beasts that had attacked Su Wan’er and Wang Shangwu before.
The demon beasts watched in shock as the humans departed. Just then, another group of demon beasts, dispatched by the Wolf-headed Demon Bat, encountered the scene.
“The two humans match the description the boss gave. There’s a man and a woman. The man is weak, but the woman exudes a powerful and terrifying presence. They caused quite a stir and were eventually taken away by an old woman. That person is extremely powerful.”
The leader of the demon beasts did not hold back any details, sharing everything with Su Yi.
“It’s probably Fatty Wang and Miss Wan’er,” the demon leader said.
Su Yi narrowed his eyes. From the information he had gathered, it seemed highly likely that the pair were indeed Wang Shangwu and Su Wan’er.
However, Su Yi was also puzzled. Wan’er was an ordinary person and had never practiced any cultivation.
Yet, this demon beast claimed that Su Wan’er had caused a major disturbance, a commotion visible from a distance during the day. This baffled Su Yi.
Moreover, it seemed that powerful individuals had ultimately taken both Su Wan’er and Wang Shangwu away, flying with ease. They must have been at least at the Yuan Void Realm. Why were so many powerful figures near the Forest of Demons lately?
“Has anything significant occurred in this area recently? Have there been any reports about Emperor Blazing Dragon?” Su Yi inquired. Lately, the presence of strong individuals in the area had been noticeable, and it wasn’t far from Man City. Being deep within the Forest of Demons, Su Yi had to stay vigilant, especially against his old foe, Emperor Blazing Dragon.
Emperor Blazing Dragon was the one who had severely injured Ling Qianxue in the past, causing her demonic core to self-destruct.
“Sir, there hasn’t been anything major in this area lately. However, a few days ago, there were rumors of a battle between two Demonic Emperor Realm powerhouses—Emperor Blazing Dragon and the new Demon Emperor from the Crying Snake clan.”
The demon beast leader paused for a moment to think before continuing, sensing that Su Yi understood their language. The leader had considered Su Yi to be another Demon Emperor, but the human aura was intriguing.
“Emperor Blazing Dragon, the Demon Emperor of the Crying Snake clan, and the Green Emperor!” they exclaimed.
Upon hearing this, Su Yi furrowed his brow. Both of these Demon Emperors had some connection to him. Emperor Blazing Dragon, in particular, was someone he was already aware of. As for the Demon Emperor of the Crying Snake clan, it was likely the Green Emperor mentioned by the old man. The Green Emperor had reportedly been injured by a powerful figure from the Sacred Mountain and later clashed with Emperor Blazing Dragon.
“Emperor Blazing Dragon is stronger,” the leader of the demon beasts said. “However, I heard that recently, he fought a powerful human and was wounded. Despite this, Emperor Blazing Dragon still emerged victorious. As for the Demon Emperor of the Crying Snake clan, they were gravely injured, nearly killed, but managed to escape in the end.”
The demon leader shared this information with Su Yi.
After hearing this, Su Yi felt somewhat reassured. If the information was accurate, the Green Emperor should be heavily wounded, making it unlikely they would attack Man City soon. Emperor Blazing Dragon also appeared to be injured, reducing the chances of encountering him in the Forest of Demons.
“Let’s go,” Su Yi gestured, signaling for the demon beasts to disperse.
The demon beasts quickly scattered with relief.
“Did the Crying Snake really get heavily injured? If I could obtain its demonic core, it would be a significant source of power,” Ling Qianxue’s voice murmured softly in Su Yi’s mind.
Su Yi clicked his tongue. Even if the Crying Snake was injured, it still remained a Demonic Emperor. Encountering it with his current strength would be like walking into a lion’s den. It was best to avoid it.
“How much have you recovered? Do you think you can kill the heavily injured Crying Snake?” Su Yi asked cautiously. Acquiring the demonic core of a Demonic Emperor Realm Crying Snake would be an extraordinary treasure.
“No matter how badly injured the Demon Emperor is, he is still dangerous. Even on the brink of death, he could still self-detonate his demonic core,” Ling Qianxue replied calmly.
“Self-detonate his demonic core.”
Su Yi’s gaze hardened instantly. He vividly remembered how terrifying it had been when Ling Qianxue self-detonated her own demonic core. Emperor Blazing Dragon had been caught in the explosion, and the results were not favorable.
This only reinforced Su Yi’s decision to avoid Emperor Blazing Dragon and the Green Emperor. Should he encounter them, he would surely be the unfortunate one.
As night settled in, the moonlight gently illuminated the land, and the stars twinkled in the sky.
