Chapter 653: Liu Ruoxi’s Letter
According to the cultivation method recorded in the Void God Sea, each successive impact would be stronger than the last. Every failure weighed heavily on me.
Yet, if I could truly master the Void God Sea, given the current circumstances, I would have the means to confront even those stronger than myself. The immense power within the Void God Sea would be my greatest asset in battle.
This mysterious technique held unfathomable depths, something only those who cultivated it could truly comprehend.
Estimating the passage of time, Su Yi realized it had been a considerable while. A sense of concern stirred within him—for Man City and his family.
Stepping out of the cave, he was greeted by a tranquil night sky. A crescent moon hung high, its glow casting a quiet serenity over the land.
A stream trickled through the mountain gorge. Su Yi took a moment to cleanse himself. His robe was in tatters, stained with dried blood.
Retrieving a fresh robe from his space bag, he changed swiftly. As he glanced at his reflection in the water, the broken sword still resting on his back, he took a deep breath before departing.
Qi surged beneath his feet as he executed the Hundred Transformations Step. In the blink of an eye, his figure appeared on the outskirts of Man City.
Navigating the shadows, Su Yi slipped into Man City unnoticed. The moonlight bathed the city in a soft glow, and everything appeared unchanged.
Within the Su family’s peaceful courtyard, Old Man Su Yuntian sat cross-legged, cultivating his breath to aid in his recovery. Previously, he had been injured in battle against three formidable Yuan Void Realm cultivators. Unlike Su Yi, his healing was not as swift.
“Who’s there?”
Abruptly, Old Man Su Yuntian ceased his hand movements and snapped his eyes open. His sharp gaze fixated on the doorway as he whispered, “Su Yi, is that you?”
“Grandfather, it’s me.”
Su Yi’s voice was soft as he pushed open the door.
“Su Yi, are you hurt?”
Hearing this, the old man tensed. He stood up in haste, reaching for Su Yi to check his condition. However, as his eyes settled on his grandson—standing before him, dressed in a fresh robe, vitality radiating from him—his initial worry shifted into astonishment.
Twelve days ago, Old Man Su Yuntian had seen the severity of Su Yi’s wounds during the battle.
Though physical injuries were apparent, the old man had been equally concerned about hidden internal damage. For days, these thoughts had weighed on him.
But now, seeing Su Yi, he could tell that he had fully recovered, without the slightest sign of injury.
“You’ve healed completely…”
Old Man Su Yuntian was amazed. It seemed almost unreal that such grave wounds had mended in mere days.
“I’m fine, Grandfather. As long as you’re well, that’s all that matters.”
Su Yi carefully observed his grandfather’s breath and expression. Though still injured, it was no longer a major concern. That reassured him.
The two sat down together, and Su Yi recounted how he had been pursued by Zhuba Yi. He hadn’t originally intended to chase Zhuba Yi—his only goal had been to find a place to recover.
Understanding the dangers at play, Old Man Su Yuntian nodded. With Sacred Mountain’s forces now involving powerful Yuan Emperor Realm experts, caution was necessary.
“That girl, Liu Ruoxi, seemed to carry a different stance towards Sacred Mountain.”
Old Man Su Yuntian soon brought up another topic. He explained how people from Sacred Mountain had visited the Su family recently, accompanied by Liu Ruoxi. Their attitudes, however, were notably different.
Su Yi narrowed his eyes, recalling the girl in the red dress. The last time he had seen her, she had transformed into an elegant and formidable young lady. Sacred Mountain’s influence was unmistakable.
“You are my grandson, Su Yuntian’s grandson. There is no one you are unworthy of. If not for past events, I might have thought highly of that girl. Though the engagement was arranged by me and the Liu family long ago, you are now of age to make your own decisions.”
Old Man Su Yuntian’s voice carried wisdom as he observed Su Yi’s contemplative state.
Snapping out of his thoughts, Su Yi sighed inwardly. He pushed away the image of the red-dressed girl and, with a determined glint in his eyes, declared, “Sacred Mountain owes me, and one day, I will make them pay—twice over!”
“It is only right to seek repayment for grievances. However, the Su family is not yet on equal footing with Sacred Mountain. Their thousands of years of accumulated strength far surpasses our current standing,” Old Man Su Yuntian advised. “Revenge must be taken, but with patience and strategy.”
Against Sacred Mountain, the Su family’s power seemed minuscule, akin to ants trying to shake a tree. But the old man believed that his grandson would one day rise to surpass all obstacles.
“Strength…” Su Yi muttered, clenching his fists. He understood—his current power was far from enough. Sacred Mountain’s vast heritage was not something to be underestimated.
“Liu Ruoxi has already returned to Sacred Mountain, but before leaving, she had a letter delivered to you,” the old man added, handing Su Yi a sealed envelope.
Su Yi’s eyes flickered with curiosity as he took the letter. He hesitated briefly before breaking the seal.
Inside was a neatly folded letter. As he unfolded it, elegant handwriting came into view:
“Don’t think that saving Man City means I will forgive you. Stay alive, because I will be the one to take your life. Don’t die by anyone else’s hands!”
The two simple lines carried a graceful yet imposing air.
Leaning in, Old Man Su Yuntian curiously read the contents of the letter. His face carried a mixture of amusement and surprise.
Upon finishing, he let out a hearty laugh. “Haha, this girl certainly has a temper…”
“Just a stubborn girl,” Su Yi replied casually.
He instinctively moved to discard the letter but paused. Instead of throwing it away, he tucked it inside his robe.
“Oh? Don’t forget, you’re still just a boy yourself,” the old man teased.
“Well…” Su Yi offered a helpless smile. He could hardly explain the truth—that he had been reincarnated. Even if he did, would his grandfather believe him?
“Deng Tuzi, you really are a scoundrel. Did you provoke this little girl?”
Ling Qianxue’s voice echoed in Su Yi’s mind, teasingly remarking, “That Liu Ruoxi girl—young, but rather beautiful.”
Su Yi chose to ignore Ling Qianxue’s words, not wanting to startle the old man.
“Alright, young people should handle their own matters.”
Noticing Su Yi’s thoughtful expression, Old Man Su Yuntian simply smiled and waved his hand dismissively.
His grandson had grown significantly. The time for him to worry was over.
“Grandfather, how severe are your injuries? I have some medicine left that might help.”
Su Yi refocused, deciding to put aside Liu Ruoxi’s letter for now.
