Chapter 602: Bloody Ghost Eyes!
“Don’t forget, if I’m in trouble, you’ll be in trouble too. So, is there a solution or not? Otherwise, things will escalate quickly,” Su Yi asked with a bitter smile, sensing from Ling Qianxue’s tone that she might have an idea. He was certain that the mysterious expert tailing them wasn’t just coincidentally heading in the same direction.
“Hmph…” Ling Qianxue let out a light snort, her tone irritated. “I borrowed your body for rebirth, and luckily, I’ve regained some of my strength—though it’s nowhere near what it used to be. Fortunately, the person following us is only a Yuan Void Realm expert. If we catch them off guard, I might be able to help you. But it’ll be extremely dangerous.”
“What kind of danger?” Su Yi’s eyes lit up at the prospect of a solution.
Ling Qianxue’s tone turned serious, issuing a stern warning. “Since I’m inside your body, I can’t act directly. However, I can lend you my power. But here’s the problem—you’re only at the Yuan Spirit Realm. If you can’t handle my power, you’ll either end up seriously injured or have your meridians severed, which could permanently damage you.”
Su Yi frowned slightly. He understood her point. His cultivation level was far lower than Ling Qianxue’s terrifying strength as a Demonic Emperor. Though she was currently weakened, the gap in their power levels remained immense. Using her strength could easily overwhelm his body.
In the distance, a shadowy figure moved stealthily through the void, maintaining a cautious distance as they followed Su Yi.
This figure was none other than the infamous Bloody Ghost Eyes.
Known throughout the Central Region, Bloody Ghost Eyes had a reputation for both ruthless cunning and an unerring ability to locate treasures. Their piercing, merciless eyes were said to discern even the most hidden of valuables. Few had seen them in person, but their name inspired both fear and respect.
Recently, Bloody Ghost Eyes had acquired a treasure, but this had drawn the attention of powerful enemies. Pursued relentlessly, they had been forced to evade capture by any means necessary. They eventually arrived at Forging Sword City, a relatively quiet location near the Divine Sword School, hoping to lay low until the danger passed.
However, during their stay in Forging Sword City, Bloody Ghost Eyes had noticed the broken sword strapped to Su Yi’s back. Their years of experience told them that this was no ordinary blade; its origin was likely extraordinary.
Obsessed with collecting rare treasures, Bloody Ghost Eyes couldn’t resist the allure of the mysterious sword. They began following Su Yi, observing him from the shadows.
The more they watched, the more intrigued they became. Su Yi’s demeanor and actions suggested he was no ordinary disciple. He even seemed indifferent to the Sacred Mountain disciples. The Wolf-headed Demon Bat serving as his mount further confirmed that he wasn’t a typical cultivator.
Despite these observations, Bloody Ghost Eyes hesitated. If Su Yi had powerful elders protecting him, making a move could prove suicidal. Yet, after following him for some time, they noted that Su Yi appeared to be alone. The unusual aura of the broken sword on his back only intensified their greed.
The light in Bloody Ghost Eyes’ eyes flickered beneath their hood as they made their decision. Their aura surged, and their figure suddenly accelerated, moving toward Su Yi at alarming speed.
“Be careful!” Ling Qianxue’s voice echoed urgently in Su Yi’s ears from the Wolf-headed Demon Bat.
Su Yi, already aware of the approaching presence through the fluctuations in soul power, quietly braced himself for what was to come.
“Hiss…”
A shadowy figure cut through the void, suddenly appearing in front of the Wolf-headed Demon Bat.
“Roar!”
The Wolf-headed Demon Bat let out a thunderous howl, its blood-red aura surging and enveloping its surroundings like a violent storm.
“Hmm… this beast is quite extraordinary!”
Bloody Ghost Eyes’ piercing gaze focused on the Wolf-headed Demon Bat. By analyzing the fluctuations in its aura, they quickly discerned that this was no ordinary beast. Its strength and cultivation level far surpassed that of a typical Wolf-headed Demon Bat, further affirming Su Yi’s extraordinary background.
The situation grew tense as both parties prepared for confrontation.
Seeing someone suddenly appear and block their path, Su Yi immediately formed a plan. Without revealing any trace of it, he fixed his gaze on the figure before him.
The person who had appeared was tall and thin, draped in a black cloak that concealed their face. With their head slightly bowed, their features were difficult to discern. However, every so often, a mesmerizing glimmer flickered in their eyes.
“This arrival isn’t friendly,” Su Yi thought, making a swift judgment. The individual’s invisible aura bore down on him, scrutinizing him. The eerie glow in their eyes exuded ill intent.
“Who are you, sir?” Su Yi asked cautiously, feigning slight panic. He deliberately let his Yuan Spirit Realm aura fluctuate erratically, mimicking the unease of a lone cultivator in the desolate wilderness when confronted by a Yuan Void Realm powerhouse.
“Who are you, and which sect do you belong to?” the figure, known as Bloody Ghost Eyes, demanded as he studied Su Yi intently. Despite his young age, Su Yi’s cultivation at the Yuan Spirit Realm clearly set him apart. His ability to swiftly defeat four disciples from Sacred Mountain had already proven his exceptional strength.
“My identity is none of your concern,” Su Yi replied calmly, though his eyes flickered with calculated intent. “It would be wise not to cause trouble. Powerful elders from my sect are nearby.”
Bloody Ghost Eyes let out a mocking laugh. “So young, and yet you’re trying to deceive me, kid!”
It was evident to him that Su Yi’s composure was a facade. After observing the surroundings and tailing him all this time, Bloody Ghost Eyes was confident this boy was alone.
“What do you want?” Su Yi asked, feigning alarm as his expression shifted. “The powerhouses from my sect are really close by.”
“Kid, don’t wander around alone—it’s dangerous out here. Haven’t the elders from your sect warned you?” Bloody Ghost Eyes sneered, his gaze settling on the sword slung across Su Yi’s back. “That sword looks interesting. Let me take a look.”
“Senior, this broken sword is nothing special,” Su Yi replied, shrugging nonchalantly as he glanced at the damaged blade. Realization struck—this man must have been following him because of the sword.
“Heh, still trying to hide it?” Bloody Ghost Eyes said coldly. “Hand it over, or don’t blame me for being impolite!” His tone turned menacing as he confirmed that the broken sword wasn’t ordinary and likely had a significant story behind it.
“Wolfbat, run quickly!” Su Yi commanded.
“Aoo…”
The Wolf-headed Demon Bat roared, spreading its massive wings and veering sharply to the side. Shrouded in a blood-red glow, it flapped its wings furiously, reaching its maximum speed.
“Kid, do you really think you can escape?” Bloody Ghost Eyes sneered, his voice cold. With a slight stamp on the empty air, his figure transformed into a streak of lightning, reappearing instantly in front of Su Yi, his eyes flashing with a chilling light.
