Chapter 587: Elder Su’s Fury!
“Is it true that intentionally killing fellow members has never been punished?”
Elder Su remained calm, his gaze as serene as a still pool, devoid of any hint of emotion.
Yet, for some unknown reason, his composure only deepened the unease in the hearts of the disciples.
“It was said… it was said…”
Several disciples hesitated, their voices faltering. Under the weight of Elder Su’s oppressive aura, they found it impossible to suppress the truth. Fear overwhelmed them.
“What have you heard?” Elder Su asked, his tone calm but commanding.
“I heard that Senior Yun Lingfeng has received unparalleled benefits and will be the future of the Divine Sword School, so… so he won’t face any punishment,” a disciple whispered, his voice trembling along with his body.
“Yun Lingfeng is the future of the Divine Sword School. That Su Yi kid deserved to die—is that what you’re saying?”
Elder Su sighed softly before addressing the disciples. “You may leave. Tell the one who sent you that every person from the Thirty-Sixth Sword Peak must be accounted for. As for everything else, I, Su Kuangge, will seek justice!”
As the final syllable of his declaration faded, Elder Su’s petite figure vanished into thin air.
“Elder Su has returned. It seems something major is about to happen. Hurry and inform the Right Dharma Protector!”
For a long moment, the disciples remained frozen in shock. Once they recovered, they scrambled to deliver the message, their hearts heavy with lingering fear.
The Fifteenth Sword Peak, rising high into the clouds, was a paradise abundant with the energy of heaven and earth. Rare and exotic flowers bloomed, spirit birds fluttered, and strange beasts roamed freely. Mist curled through the air, creating an ethereal and magical scene.
Suddenly, Elder Su’s figure materialized in midair above the peak.
“Elder Su…”
On the Fifteenth Sword Peak, a disciple glanced upward and saw the petite figure suspended in the void. Their expression changed instantly, a mix of shock and dread.
Life on the Fifteenth Sword Peak had been difficult of late.
Su Yi had utterly dominated both the direct disciples and inner disciples of the peak, turning them into the laughingstock of the entire Divine Sword School. They had hoped to reclaim their honor in the Grand Swordsmanship Competition, but Yun Lingfeng’s defeat had dashed those hopes.
Now, however, Yun Lingfeng had gained tremendous benefits in the Divine Sword Valley and risen to the pinnacle among his peers. As the presumed future of the Divine Sword School, he represented a new hope for the Fifteenth Sword Peak.
For the disciples, it felt like a rainbow after the storm. At last, they could breathe a sigh of relief, hold their heads high, and bask in their newfound confidence.
Su Yi’s death only cemented this sense of reprieve. Without him, no one could dominate or overshadow them anymore.
But Elder Su’s sudden arrival shattered their fragile peace.
The disciples instinctively trembled. Across the Divine Sword School, everyone knew the truth about Su Yi’s death. Though the school had officially sealed the news, too many witnesses had seen what had transpired.
Outwardly, no one dared to speak of it, but in secret, the truth was well known: Su Yi had been intentionally killed by Yun Lingfeng in Divine Sword Valley.
Now, as Elder Su stood before them, the disciples of the Fifteenth Sword Peak couldn’t help but wonder what he intended to do.
Su Yi had been a disciple of the Thirty-Sixth Sword Peak. For Elder Su to visit the Fifteenth Sword Peak now could only mean trouble.
Elder Su descended from the void, his expression calm and serene.
“Elder Su.”
Some of the inner disciples trembled, unsure why. Their legs inexplicably grew weak.
“Do you know where Yun Lingfeng is?”
Elder Su’s gaze swept across the surroundings. Though his mind had already explored every nook and cranny, he had not found the person he sought.
“I… I don’t know…”
Upon hearing this, the disciples of the Fifteenth Sword Peak were so overwhelmed that some nearly collapsed.
When it came to Yun Lingfeng, they were no fools—they already knew why Elder Su had come.
“Then I will search on my own,” Elder Su murmured softly, taking a step forward.
“Elder Su, this is the Fifteenth Sword Peak. Let us inform our master. Please, Elder Su, refrain from wandering around!”
A direct disciple stepped forward, mustering their courage. Gritting their teeth, they muttered to themselves.
“Wandering around? What a fine choice of words!” Elder Su’s faint smile held a trace of mockery. “I, Su Kuangge, wandered the Divine Sword School and, unexpectedly, became an adventurer. It seems the school has changed quite a bit recently.”
His smile faded as his gaze turned icy. He looked at the group of disciples from the Fifteenth Sword Peak and said, “This matter does not concern you, and you are not qualified to interfere. Step back now—I will not say this a second time.”
“Elder Su, you are a respected elder. Why trouble us young disciples? Allow me to inform our master. Please wait…”
The lead disciple, though trembling with fear, gritted his teeth and stood his ground. At that moment, he wished it were anyone else standing in his place.
Puff!
Before he could finish his sentence, his eyes widened in shock. A short figure appeared before him, seemingly out of nowhere. In an instant, he spewed a mouthful of blood and was sent flying backward.
The disciple’s body crashed heavily into the rocks several meters away. Blood splattered as he gasped for breath, barely clinging to life.
“You have shown disrespect to an elder. As punishment, I have taken away your cultivation base. From now on, you are expelled from the Divine Sword School.”
Elder Su’s voice was cold, his eyes filled with unrelenting authority.
Thump!
The remaining disciples quickly scattered, their hearts pounding with fear and unease.
“Elder Su, why have you come to the Fifteenth Sword Peak and attacked a junior so severely? Aren’t you afraid of tarnishing your dignity?”
The voice came from deep within the Fifteenth Sword Peak.
Suddenly, the sound of rushing wind accompanied the arrival of several figures.
Nine individuals materialized in the void, their presence creating an oppressive atmosphere. Seven elders, their appearances aged and stern, were joined by an old woman and a middle-aged man. Together, they unintentionally formed a semi-circle around Elder Su Kuangge.
The air above the Fifteenth Sword Peak seemed to solidify under their combined aura, making it hard to breathe.
At the center of the group stood Elder Bai Mingshan, his gaze locked onto Elder Su Kuangge. A flicker of gloom crossed his face.
“There must be something significant about to happen,” whispered one of the disciples, retreating further under the suffocating tension.
“This situation leaves little for me to investigate. What I have learned must already be true,” Elder Su Kuangge said, his voice calm but firm.
His gaze swept over the nine figures before settling on Elder Bai Mingshan. “I have come to take Yun Lingfeng to the Court of Justice.”
Elder Bai Mingshan involuntarily trembled under Elder Su’s intense gaze, a chilling memory of past torment flashing through his mind.
