Chapter 575: Climbing the Mountain!
Fortunately, these individuals were not severely impacted. They crashed onto the ground and coughed up blood, but none sustained critical injuries.
“We have no choice but to climb.”
Situ Muyang felt a lingering fear. Thankfully, he wasn’t the first to rush forward. He looked at the majestic mountain peaks ahead—steep, rocky, and without any visible paths. The only option to avoid further danger was to climb, pressing his body against the cliffs.
“Stay alert.”
Su Yi scanned the area, taking note of the towering peaks. There were no visible pathways, and the ground was barren, with not even a blade of grass. The rocks were dark brown and rugged, their jagged surfaces providing the only route up, similar to climbing a cliff.
“Climb quickly. We can’t afford to let anyone get there first!”
Situ Muyang urged as he observed Yun Lingfeng and others collapse. Seizing this moment, he gathered his energy and began ascending.
Su Yi enveloped himself in energy and soon followed, making his way toward the mountain top.
The others around them were equally determined. They watched the mysterious corpse warrior battle strange sword-wielding creatures and skeletons high above. Soon after, they began to climb, following Situ Muyang and Su Yi.
Yun Lingfeng, though injured, rose and wiped blood from his mouth. His eyes narrowed as he watched Su Yi’s movements, a flicker of coldness passing through them. Quietly, he followed behind.
The eighteen disciples of the Divine Sword School climbed the rocks with surprising speed, aided by their internal energy, moving swiftly despite the harsh terrain.
However, the mountain was vast, and despite their climb, the summit remained elusive.
The mountain was a maze of giant rocks, creating a strange yet awe-inspiring landscape. But this was no time for sightseeing. The area was shrouded in black mist, and an eerie presence seemed to weigh on the soul. Scattered bones with ominous black spots could be seen in the surroundings.
“Swoosh…”
The group climbed quickly, determined to reach the peak before anyone else.
The cultivation levels of the group were similar, which meant they were moving at roughly the same pace. Still, Mu Yao, Su Yi, Liu Yunchuan, and a few others moved noticeably faster.
“Splash!”
Suddenly, a sharp aura surged out of nowhere, and a strange attack aimed for the back of Su Yi’s head. It was fast—like lightning.
Su Yi had been cautious, climbing with all his energy. He immediately sensed the danger when the attack came at him. The bone-chilling aura reached him just as his instincts kicked in. With swift movements, he used his energy to propel himself sideways, like a monkey hanging from a tree.
“Bang!”
The attack landed on the rocky wall with a forceful “bang,” missing its mark.
“Boom!”
The mountain trembled as rocks shattered and rolled down.
Su Yi dangled from a branch, his eyes fixed on the area ahead. Suddenly, he saw a skeletal figure emerge. As soon as Su Yi looked to the side, the skeleton seemed to awaken, its sword glowing with a sinister black light. The skeleton swung the sword straight at him.
“Chirp.”
The skeleton’s eye sockets glowed with a dark light. Its first swing missed, but the second attack came with even greater force.
Su Yi’s face paled. With agility, he swung his arms and leapt high, soaring through the air like a nimble monkey. His body spun 180 degrees, and he landed on a large rock directly above the skeleton.
“Splash!”
The skeleton raised its gaze, its dark eyes unsettling. It let out a strange shriek, preparing to strike again.
But Su Yi was quicker. With a burst of strength, his fist flew forward, creating a gust of wind that shattered rocks and sent dust flying.
Rather than aiming at the skeleton, Su Yi struck the large rock beneath its feet.
“Boom!”
The impact shattered the rock into pieces.
In panic, the skeleton tried to grab hold of something, but it fell, along with the crumbling debris.
Yun Lingfeng, who was nearby, glanced at Su Yi. Seeing him narrowly escape, Yun Lingfeng looked somewhat disappointed. He seized the moment and passed Su Yi.
Su Yi squinted at the peak, refocused, and resumed climbing, now even more cautious.
“Bang!”
Not far from her, Mu Yao encountered danger as a skeleton appeared and attacked from behind.
“Boom!”
Mu Yao, surrounded by golden light, became fierce, her aura growing stronger as she fought back. After a few exchanges, the skeleton, relying only on instinct, fell after being caught off guard.
As the group climbed higher, the danger seemed to lessen, and they moved closer to the summit.
Below them, a battle between the powerful mummy and the eerie sword-wielding skeletons raged on.
“Zoom…”
Suddenly, sword lights flashed down from the mountain peak.
“Boom, boom…”
Massive boulders, each weighing over a thousand kilograms, rolled down from above, capable of crushing anyone in their path.
“Be careful!”
The group scrambled to avoid both the sword lights and the massive boulders descending from the peak. It was utter chaos, but they managed to find gaps and press on.
Luckily, the sword lights and boulders were not dense, allowing the group to continue their climb, steadily nearing the summit.
At the peak, the terrain gradually became less steep and leveled out.
“Whoosh…”
One by one, the climbers leaped to the top, cautious and prepared for any surprises.
The mountaintop was surrounded by a veil of black mist, casting a cold, dim glow over everything. An overwhelming, chilling presence hung in the air.
Ahead, stone platforms in a peculiar arrangement stretched towards the highest peak. The platforms, about one yard in size, were scattered with bones.
These bones, like those of the skeletons they had encountered earlier, bore dark spots.
The stone platforms were arranged all the way to the highest peak, where treasure swords were stuck upside down in many of them.
The swords shimmered and intertwined, as if connected by an invisible force, with a faint glow flowing through them. This energy rippled toward a platform at the peak.
At the highest point, an ancient stone platform—about half the size of a person—stood. Runes shimmered across its surface, glowing with a strange radiance. The crisscrossing swords seemed to all connect to this platform.
“This is the Raven Sword!”
Liu Yunchuan shouted excitedly. In front of him, embedded in the stone platform, was a magnificent sword. Its body glowed with mysterious patterns, emanating an ancient aura. It glowed a vivid red, resembling flowing lava.
“The Raven Sword, it really is the Raven Sword!”
Gu Chenyou, Ou Luo, Ouyang Ran, and others exclaimed in shock and awe.
“That is a legendary treasure, the renowned sword of the Divine Sword School. It has long surpassed the level of spirit weapons and was once wielded by the great predecessors of the Divine Sword School.”
