Chapter 45: Stalemate with the Python
The Golden Titanic Python was a Demonic Xuan Realm beast, and there was no doubt about it being equivalent to a cultivator of the Yuan Xuan Realm. Beasts like this often had innate talents, such as enormous strength, tough skin and flesh providing strong defence, incredible speed, or relentless tenacity.
Generally speaking, even if a beast is at the same cultivation level as a human it would still be slightly stronger than a human.
Su Yi could also feel that this Golden Titanic Python was not an average Demonic Xuan Realm beast. It had already reached the brink of the Demonic Spirit Realm.
“Is this some kind of a joke?”
Su Yi felt a wave of resignation wash over him. His eyes grew serious as he displayed caution. He knew that even at his peak, he would not be able to face this Golden Titanic Python. Moreover, he was currently in no condition to fight—he couldn’t even move a muscle so all he could do was to wait silently to become this python’s next meal.
“HhhiiSsss…”
The Golden Titanic Python locked its aggressive gaze on Su Yi. It had originally been lying in wait, but once it smelled the medicinal fragrance of the Yuan Spirit Elixirs in Su Yi’s hands, it was as if it couldn’t hold back any longer.
It hesitated at first, but then it began to approach Su Yi, its eyes fixed on the Yuan Spirit Elixirs, though it moved cautiously, its wariness evident.
“You filthy beast, don’t you dare to come any closer, or I’ll make sure to pull you down with me!”
Su Yi threatened the Golden Titanic Python, shaking the branches beneath him. But with his current state, the branches only trembled slightly due to their size.
The Golden Titanic Python either couldn’t understand Su Yi’s words or simply didn’t care. It continued to coil around the tree and slithered closer, inch by inch.
“I had just survived through Wang Quan De’s hands, and now am I struck and am going to die at the jaws of this snake?”
All Su Yi felt was despaired. Just when he thinking that luck and miracles had been on his side—surviving after being thrown off a cliff—now it seemed that this time the fate had chosen to favour the snake instead. What incredible luck it had, to have a delicious meal drop right out of the sky as it lay beneath the cliff.
“Ha!”
Though Su Yi knew he couldn’t avoid the Golden Titanic Python, he wasn’t one to give up easily in the face of death. That wasn’t his way. The Yuan Qi inside him might had been weak, but he still activated the “Supreme Chaotic Yuan Technique.” No matter what would happened, he had decided that he would fight with everything he had against this gigantic snake.
“Sss…”
As Su Yi activated the “Supreme Chaotic Yuan Technique,” a powerful and tyrannical presence surged around him. The Golden Titanic Python suddenly stopped dead in its tracks. Fear flickered in its fierce eyes, and it didn’t dare move closer.
“Eh?”
Su Yi felt something was wrong. Why had the Golden Titanic Python suddenly stopped, and why did it look like its eyes were filled with fear?
“Is this because of the Supreme Chaotic Yuan Technique?”
Su Yi wondered, stopping the technique for a moment.
When he ceased using the technique, the Golden Titanic Python raised its head, staring directly at him. Even without the pressure of the technique, the snake seemed hesitant to approach, though it still eyed him with caution.
“Hmm.”
Su Yi’s brows furrowed as he activated the “Supreme Chaotic Yuan Technique” once again.
The python’s eyes were filled with clear fear as it grew agitated. Its head, which had just been raised, dropped again, and it immediately withdrew, not daring to approach any further.
“It seems that this snake fears the Supreme Chaotic Yuan Technique!”
Su Yi’s eyes brightened with delight. This could save his life. For some reason, this Golden Titanic Python seemed to cower in fear when he activated the Supreme Chaotic Yuan Technique. Although Su Yi didn’t know the cause, he gladly accepted this unexpected advantage. It felt like a divine gift.
Su Yi immediately resumed the Supreme Chaotic Yuan Technique, slowly healing his wounds. His eyes remained fixed on the python, though. He didn’t dare let his guard down.
Under the pressure of the technique, the Golden Titanic Python remained distant, staring at him with growing hesitation. It dared not approach. Both sides seemed to have entered a stalemate.
“I must recover as soon as possible.”
This stalemate lasted for an hour, but Su Yi’s brows furrowed again. He didn’t know how long it would last or how long he could maintain this state. What he did know was that he needed to heal his wounds quickly.
Although it wasn’t convenient to enter the mysterious space, he could at least consume some elixirs to speed up his recovery.
One of the elixirs, which somehow had been levelled up by an entire grade, was thrown into Su Yi’s mouth.
The elixir melted immediately as it slid down his throat, converting into a warm, rich, and dense energy. The energy seeped not only into his bones but also into every cell of his body.
At first, this influx of energy caused an indescribable pain, but soon after, it became much more comfortable—like a long-awaited downpour nourishing the earth after a drought.
There was quite a bit of pure energy within the elixir. As the “Supreme Chaotic Yuan Technique” continued to circulate, this energy was converted into Yuan Qi within his body, flowing into the Ocean of Yuan Qi in his Dantian.
Su Yi’s recovery sped up significantly after consuming the Yuan Spirit Elixir. The Supreme Chaotic Yuan Technique seemed to have the added effect of accelerating the healing of his injuries.
However, because of the Golden Titanic Python, Su Yi didn’t dare to fully focus on recovery. He kept his eyes on the snake, not daring to let his guard down.
This stalemate continued for almost four hours. The Golden Titanic Python had stayed their while remaining wary of Su Yi’s presence, not daring to approach, but it also had no intention of leaving either.
Su Yi felt a sense of dejection. His injuries were as serious as they could be, yet he still couldn’t fully concentrate on healing. If things continued like this, he didn’t know how long it would take for him to recover. What he feared even more was that the Golden Titanic Python might stop fearing him and suddenly rush at him. What would he do then?
Even at his peak, he had no way to fight this python.
“Lala” (T.N: Don’t ask me what it is. I don’t know either. XD)
Suddenly, a strange sound emerged from the direction of the cliff.
“Sss…”
The Golden Titanic Python, highly sensitive to the sound, raised its head, its eyes changing color. It seemed anxious. After briefly glancing at Su Yi, it immediately retreated, slithering along the stone wall and disappearing into the dense fog.
“Phewww…. It seems to have finally left?”
Su Yi sighed in relief. He stretched his neck to look below, but the branches blocked his view and the dense fog also made it impossible to see more than three meters ahead.
After hesitating for a moment, Su Yi clenched his teeth and made a decision.
“I must take this chance to recover quickly!”
The snake might have left for but it could return at any moment, so he had to prepare himself for its potential return. At least under the towering cliff, no one else would come down here.
Hand seals began to form as a soft glow appeared between Su Yi’s eyebrows. The light rippled across the branches and started enveloping his entire body in a flash.
The blinding light blanketed the canopy and the area beneath the cliff, but it didn’t spread far due to the dense fog.
When Su Yi’s figure became visible once again, he had already entered the mysterious, familiar space.
The space that had originally been about ten meters in radius had expanded to around thirty meters in radius. The spiritual energy inside had also gotten so dense that the surroundings appeared blurry, creating an illusion that the space was completely separated from the outside world.
“Was this really the due to the effect of this space?”
Su Yi had brought along the remaining two Yuan Spirit Elixirs. He placed the jade bottle on the floor and removed its cork.
“I must hurry and recover.”
Su Yi didn’t dare waste a moment. Now that he was in this rich-energy environment, he had to make use of the opportunity to recover as much as possible. No one knew when the Golden Titanic Python might return.
