Chapter 418: Inner Disciple Jian Yue
Although Jian Yue’s words appear simple, they clearly amount to robbery.
He claims he is protecting the pills, but in truth, his real intention is to seize the valuable pills already in the possession of the outer disciples.
There is a growing fear that all the opportunities found within the Battlefield of Ten Thousand Swords will ultimately be seized by the inner disciples, which is nothing short of exploitation.
Rumors of such incidents have circulated within the sect. During the previous Grand Swordsmanship Competition, many inner disciples treated the outer disciples in much the same way, and the outcome was all but inevitable.
“Why are you making all this noise? Do you have no sense of gratitude? Do you want to die?”
A stern inner disciple, his gaze cold, turned toward the noisy group of outer disciples and shouted with authority. His aura spread with force, as though he could intimidate them without even having to strike. It was clear that things would not go smoothly today.
“Who wants to die? Step forward!”
“Do you all want to die?”
At this, the inner disciples understood, and a surge of Yuan Xuan Realm energy began to flow from their bodies, creating a powerful whirlwind of sand and dust, and sending dead branches and leaves into the air.
Faced with the overwhelming aura of the inner disciples, the outer disciples felt a cold shiver run through them.
While the outer disciples, at the seventh or eighth level of the Yuan Soul Realm, were considered relatively powerful, most of them were at the fifth or sixth level. How could they possibly match the inner disciples, who had already reached the fourth or fifth level of the Yuan Xuan Realm? The realization left them trembling in fear.
“We can choose to stay away from you. We’re like oil and water—if you push us, with our sheer numbers, we won’t be so easily provoked!”
Among the outer disciples, a tall, sturdy young man, his teeth clenched, stepped forward to speak.
While they knew they were no match for the inner disciples, they had a large number—six or seven hundred strong, over twenty times the number of the inner disciples.
As the saying goes, two fists can’t fight against four hands. If the fight begins, it will be twenty against one, and they wouldn’t lose easily!
“Indeed, with our numbers, we’re not so easily intimidated!”
“If he continues to deceive us, we’ll have no choice but to fight to the death!”
A bold outer disciple shouted in agreement, raising his arms.
“We’re not ones to be bullied; we’ll fight to the death if we have to!”
“We can’t hand over our medicine, even if it costs us our lives!”
In an instant, the outer disciples gathered together, their combined aura emanating in waves. Hundreds of them stood together in a show of defiance, their indignation palpable.
The momentum they created was no less than that of the inner disciples.
For these outer disciples, it was obvious that the Battlefield of Ten Thousand Swords was a treacherous place.
As outer disciples, they had limited resources, and the pills they carried were vital. If they gave up their pills now, they would have no support in the event of danger.
It was already going to be difficult to survive in the Battlefield of Ten Thousand Swords, and without their pills, it would become even harder.
Moreover, these inner disciples were not even direct disciples—despite being inner disciples, they still faced potential dangers in the Battlefield of Ten Thousand Swords.
Once they encountered danger, the inner disciples would be preoccupied with their own survival. They were likely to become mere cannon fodder, indifferent to the fate of others.
Looking at the angry outer disciples, the faces of the inner disciples darkened. They felt uneasy facing this overwhelming force.
With their cultivation strength, they could easily disregard these outer disciples.
However, if they were up against twenty desperate outer disciples, the situation would be quite different.
Jian Yue’s face twisted into a dark scowl. His gaze swept over the outer disciples before settling on the tall young man leading the group. A sinister look crossed his face as he sneered,
“How ungrateful. You’re just an outer disciple, thinking you can enter the Battlefield of Ten Thousand Swords and become an inner disciple? Even if I kill you outside, it’s no different than killing a dog. In the Battlefield of Ten Thousand Swords, if you’re looking for death, I’ll gladly oblige!”
Shh!
No sooner had he spoken than Jian Yue’s Qi surged beneath his feet, and he lunged at the tall young man who had been rallying the outer disciples.
In the blink of an eye, the tall youth felt a chill down his spine. His heart skipped a beat as Jian Yue appeared before him, his aura something he could not possibly counter.
Before he could react, Jian Yue swung his arm with fierce speed, delivering a punch directly to the young man’s chest, quick and violent.
The force behind the punch was immense, creating a deep, resonating sound in the air as it struck.
The tall outer disciple’s face paled, and he barely had time to react. He could only hastily throw out a punch in defense.
“Bang!”
But it was too late. Jian Yue’s punch, packed with explosive energy, slammed into the young man’s chest, leaving a deep imprint. The impact was followed by a loud, muffled sound.
“Crack…”
The bone-shattering noise rang out, followed by a scream of pain.
“Pu chi…”
With a “pu” sound, blood spurted from the young man’s mouth. His body was flung backward and crashed heavily to the ground several meters away.
The outer disciples, shocked and panicked, instinctively stepped back. A few were struck by the force and stumbled, falling to the ground, pale and trembling.
“Not so bold now, are you?”
Jian Yue did not relent. His gaze turned to the second outer disciple who had been shouting loudly earlier. When the disciple, stunned and unable to react, met his gaze, Jian Yue struck again, this time landing a brutal punch to the shoulder.
“Bang!”
“Splat…”
A sickening sound followed as blood poured from the disciple’s mouth, sending him crashing to the ground. His shoulder was torn, blood dripping steadily.
The two outer disciples were dispatched in quick succession, leaving the onlookers stunned and intimidated.
Jian Yue’s gaze swept over the crowd, his expression triumphant.
By taking out a few of the ringleaders, he had successfully instilled fear in the entire group.
“Pu chi…”
Nearby, the two outer disciples were still vomiting blood, their condition critical after the violent blows.
The outer disciples, who had been so vocal and defiant just moments before, fell silent.
The shock of Jian Yue’s actions had left them shaken. They now realized they were no match for the inner disciples.
“Su Yi, it’s Su Yi who’s come!”
“Su Yi has arrived.”
A sudden uproar spread through the crowd.
At the mention of Su Yi’s name, the outer disciples turned in unison toward the source of the commotion, their eyes wide with anticipation.
