Chapter 375: Nameless Broken Sword Technique!
Under the cover of night, as darkness enveloped the sky, numerous figures darted through the void, chasing a figure illuminated by flashes of radiance.
With the exception of Jian Shiyi, the other young cultivators from the Court of Justice were quickly left behind.
The moon was bright, but the stars were dim. Jian Shiyi’s cloak rustled in the breeze as he flew swiftly through the darkness. The shadows of his black garments and his black falcon phantom moved seamlessly through the night. If not for the strong energy he exuded, he might have remained unnoticed.
“Not bad.”
Standing atop the back of the Fierce Wind Golden Eagle, Su Yi turned around to glance at the persistent Jian Shiyi. He hadn’t expected Jian Shiyi to follow so closely, a testament to the latter’s extraordinary strength.
Yet Su Yi’s expression remained calm, composed, as he let the Fierce Wind Golden Eagle give its all.
The created flying demon beast phantom’s speed, however, could not compare to that of a real flying demon beast.
Soon enough, Jian Shiyi’s speed began to falter.
Despite exerting all his efforts, his eyes glowing with a profound radiance like the stars in the moonlit sky, Jian Shiyi could only watch as Su Yi disappeared atop the Fierce Wind Golden Eagle.
“You may escape for now, but you cannot escape forever. Eventually, you are bound to be caught!”
The faint voice, much like a cold breeze, echoed in the night sky, reaching Su Yi’s ears.
Su Yi turned slightly but did not look back.
Jian Shiyi was indeed extraordinary, but his speed was no match for the Fierce Wind Golden Eagle.
The cliff, towering ten thousand feet high, stood alone among the mountains, piercing the sky like a sharp sword, supporting the profound and vast night sky. It did not tear the ground apart but stood tall and mighty, like a blade thrusting through the heavens.
Rising into the sky and surrounded by swirling clouds, the cliff loomed high. In the distance, the mountain ranges stretched endlessly, appearing and disappearing in the haze.
Looking up at the mountain cliff, one could see peculiar rocks standing at the summit, though the majority of the cliff face was steep, as if it had been cleaved by a hatchet or a knife.
This was Divine Sword Cliff.
From a distance of several hundred feet, Zhang Qing and Su Yi dismounted from their Fierce Wind Golden Eagle, as flying demon beasts were not allowed to descend upon Divine Sword Cliff.
Beyond the cliff, there was none of the strict vigilance Su Yi had expected. Not a single elite member of the Divine Sword School could be seen.
At least, to Su Yi’s keen senses, there seemed to be no formidable presence.
Outside the Divine Sword Cliff, only a few disciples of the Divine Sword School stood on guard.
Apart from these disciples, Su Yi also noticed some stewards of the Divine Sword School. These middle-aged individuals exhibited similar cultivation levels, inferred by Su Yi through their restrained auras.
Zhang Qing bowed slightly and led Su Yi toward the Divine Sword Cliff.
“That’s it, just ahead. Remember to seclude yourself for five days—we cannot afford to miss the deadline,” Zhang Qing instructed, his tone carrying a hint of urgency.
Su Yi nodded silently, and Zhang Qing turned to leave.
Zhang Qing did not intend to enter seclusion himself. Instead, he planned to return to the Thirty-Sixth Sword Peak. He hadn’t done anything in the Sword Hall that warranted fear from the disciples of the Court of Justice, though he still felt some lingering unease.
From Zhang Qing’s explanation, Su Yi had already learned the procedure to access Divine Sword Cliff.
The cliff contained hundreds, perhaps thousands, of mountain caves, known as Sword Caves. Each Sword Cave housed the teachings and sword techniques left behind by the masters of the Divine Sword School, spanning from ancient times to the present.
Meditating and comprehending the techniques within these caves could bring immense benefits to a cultivator.
To meditate on Divine Sword Cliff, one needed to pay a price in points. The amount required varied depending on the Sword Cave.
Once inside a Sword Cave, and provided enough points were paid, the cave would seal itself, preventing any unauthorized intrusion.
It is said that this measure was put in place by the senior cultivators of the Divine Sword School to ensure that disciples in seclusion are not disturbed in any way.
If one has sufficient points, the Sword Cave will seal itself without interruptions, a detail that made Su Yi feel quite relieved.
Su Yi’s first visit to the Divine Sword Cliff proved to be uncomplicated, much to his relief. He had acquired all the pertinent details from Zhang Qing and Xu Jiahui beforehand.
Standing beneath the Divine Sword Cliff, Su Yi lifted his gaze toward the towering cliff that pierced the night sky. He couldn’t help but feel awe-inspired and amazed at this divine creation.
At each Sword Cave on Divine Sword Cliff, a hallmark indicates the number of points required for one day of seclusion.
Above the cliff, winding stone steps crisscrossed, connecting various Sword Caves. The higher the position of the Sword Cave, the more points were required.
Within some Sword Caves, disciples were already in seclusion. These caves were surrounded by dazzling energy screens, radiating a brilliance that bore the badge of identity left behind by the disciple inside. It was impossible for anyone to forcefully enter.
Unoccupied Sword Caves were enveloped by dim light curtains, shimmering like flowing water. However, their radiance was noticeably duller.
Xu Jiahui’s emblem appeared to have insufficient points, prompting Su Yi to recall that only the lowest tier of Sword Caves would be accessible.
Su Yi’s gaze swept across the towering Divine Sword Cliff, where thousands of Sword Caves gleamed with dazzling light. It was likely that ninety percent of these caves were occupied by the disciples of the Divine Sword School.
Moreover, the lower tiers of the Sword Caves were more densely populated, as they were primarily used by menial and outer disciples.
With a pensive expression, Su Yi finally managed to locate an unoccupied Sword Cave after considerable effort.
Outside the cave, Su Yi curiously surveyed his surroundings but found nothing particularly noteworthy. He then retrieved Xu Jiahui’s emblem and cautiously approached the cave’s entrance.
“Hulala…”
As the emblem made contact with the entrance, the dim light curtain above the Sword Cave suddenly became brilliantly radiant.
From within the light veil, myriad sword lights faintly bloomed, emanating an ancient and mysterious aura.
Simultaneously, the badge in Su Yi’s hand began to radiate a similar translucent brilliance.
Moments later, the energy barrier of the Sword Cave transformed. The myriad sword radiances merged and morphed into rows of characters.
“The Nameless Broken Sword Technique, left behind by an anonymous elder of the Divine Sword School, is a regretful legacy that has been mastered by few, if any, over the past thousands of years.”
The characters flashed briefly before disappearing entirely.
Every Sword Cave provided a detailed description to help disciples decide whether to enter and cultivate within.
It was said that the Sword Caves of the Divine Sword Cliff housed not only sword techniques and cultivation methods but also the insights and realizations left by past masters of the Divine Sword School.
Upon reading the description on the light screen, Su Yi couldn’t help but feel speechless.
No wonder this Sword Cave was still vacant—clearly, no one wanted it.
This particular Sword Cave was located at the lowest level of Divine Sword Cliff.
The disciples who typically entered seclusion at this level were menial or outer disciples.
However, this Sword Cave contained only an incomplete and unnamed sword technique. It was a single move, and no one had been able to comprehend or cultivate it fully for thousands of years.
Menial and outer disciples, who had worked tirelessly to earn even a meager number of points, typically sought immediate and tangible results from their seclusion.
Naturally, no one wanted to waste their hard-earned points on an incomplete sword technique that had remained unmastered for *millennia.
[*millennia means an anniversary of a thousand years.]
