Chapter 316: You Have to Respect Me!
“This guy is no ordinary human! He can withstand a lightning tribulation!”
Su Tian Que’s small figure appeared not far away, its sharp, glimmering eyes fixed on Su Yi, who remained suspended in mid-air. Despite the lightning tribulation raging around him, Su Tian Que didn’t seem to feel much pressure.
As Su Yi’s voice faded, the surrounding area fell into silence. The mysterious power that had enveloped him vanished, causing his body to plummet suddenly from the sky.
“No!”
In an instant, Su Yi’s expression changed. He hastily summoned a gust of spirit Qi, cushioning his fall just before he hit the ground.
“Whoosh…”
Su Yi stumbled back several steps, steadying himself just in time. The sword strapped to his back clattered to the ground.
“Roarrr!”
Chi Zu appeared, charging straight toward Su Yi.
“Brother Su Yi, what kind of technique have you cultivated? It’s powerful enough to summon a lightning tribulation to obstruct you!”
Chi Zu’s voice rang out in the beast language, his body glowing with a faint red light. Having just completed his own cultivation, Chi Zu had been drawn to the area by the terrifying commotion. Seeing Su Yi, his eyes were filled with astonishment.
“I cultivated a technique and unexpectedly triggered something far beyond what I imagined!” Su Yi said, still astonished. He hadn’t anticipated that successfully cultivating the Divine Demonic Ancient Verse would summon a lightning tribulation. It was no wonder the technique was said to shock Heaven and Earth, causing gods and ghosts to tremble.
“Your cultivation has improved significantly!”
Sensing Chi Zu’s aura, Su Yi wasn’t surprised. Before entering seclusion, Chi Zu had mentioned he was preparing for a breakthrough.
“Compared to you, I’m still far behind. Have you made a breakthrough as well?”
Chi Zu sighed, feeling a bit defeated. He had hoped that his recent progress, which elevated him to the third grade of the Demonic Spirit Realm, would finally give him the edge over Su Yi. However, sensing Su Yi’s current aura, he realized his plans had failed. Su Yi had clearly taken another significant step forward.
“Just a small step forward, one at a time,” Su Yi replied with a smile.
He could feel the powerful Yuan energy swirling in his dantian vortex and the overflowing soul power in his mind. The successful cultivation of the Divine Demonic Ancient Verse had exceeded his expectations, even allowing him to leap two grades and reach the third grade of the Yuan Spirit Realm.
However, the rapid progress left Su Yi uneasy. He had been deliberately suppressing his advancement to consolidate his foundation, fearing that moving too quickly might destabilize it. Yet every breakthrough seemed inevitable and unstoppable.
“Ow!”
“Master!”
“Hey, Brother Su Yi!”
Fire-Eyes Beast Tiger, Da Bao, Xiao Ling, Shangguan Yu, Shangguan Xu, Xiong Zhan, Hu Chi, and others came rushing over, surrounding Su Yi with enthusiasm.
“Let this young man live, and one day he may become a great threat to us!”
From a distant mountain peak, the elderly man in the yellow robe watched the scene with unease. He turned to Chi Qin and said, “You must make a decision soon. Either kill him now or ally with him.”
Chi Qin’s gaze lingered on Su Yi, surrounded by the crowd of demon beasts and companions. His eyes flicked briefly to Chi Zu, whose presence seemed to underline the significance of the moment.
As Chi Qin watched Su Yi and the remarkable group of demon beasts gathered around him, his expression flickered with emotion. His face betrayed an internal struggle, his thoughts shifting rapidly. It was clear that the decision he faced was anything but simple.
“This human is very special and seems closely connected to the demon clan. It’s said that the rise of the Divine Demonic Sect was also deeply tied to the demon clan.”
Chi Qin whispered softly, a faint smile gracing her lips as she addressed the old man in the yellow robe. “What if one day we face an unexpected calamity? Chi Zu still needs time to grow. What will happen to him then?”
The old man in the yellow robe frowned, confusion evident on his face. “You mean…?”
Chi Qin sighed gently, her gaze flickering, but she avoided saying anything outright. “Let nature take its course.”
Hearing this, the old man’s eyes shimmered with a faint light. He said nothing further, understanding Chi Qin’s intentions. She was paving the way for Chi Zu and had high hopes for him. Seeing that this human teenager was extraordinary, she seemed to have made her decision.
“With such a commotion, it’s impossible to hide it. Others are likely already on their way here to investigate. Let’s go deal with them,” Chi Qin said with a faint smile before leaving.
The old man in the yellow robe lingered for a moment, his gaze fixed on the distant figure of the human teenager. He muttered softly, “Humans… can we really trust them? I hope my elder sister hasn’t made a mistake.”
With those words, the old man disappeared into nothingness.
“What kind of technique was cultivated? Why does it feel like the Demonic Spirit Truth Interpretation?”
“I thought it resembled the Mighty Desolate Verse!”
“It even has traces of the Heavenly Tiger Art!”
In the crowd, Shangguan Yu, Xiong Zhan, Hu Chi, and others surrounded Su Yi, their faces filled with astonishment. The tremendous commotion Su Yi had caused seemed to carry a familiar energy, akin to the techniques they themselves had cultivated. Yet, the aura emanating from him filled them with fear and an inexplicable sense of oppression.
“It’s related,” Su Yi admitted, not bothering to hide the truth. Standing beside Chi Zu, he saw no reason to avoid the topic.
“Hey, Su Yi, can you pay attention to yourself for once?”
Su Tian Que waddled in, his small, plump figure comical as his crown—a vibrant red-gold tuft resembling a gleaming gemstone—bobbed with every step. His five short legs shook as he scuttled along, his tone dripping with mockery.
“Su Tian Que, don’t forget I’m your elder brother. Show some respect! Do you want a duel with me?”
Su Yi shot Su Tian Que a stern look. This self-important, bald-headed little creature hadn’t taken his older brother seriously for a while now. Su Yi, having recently made significant progress, felt it was the perfect time to test just how far Su Tian Que had come.
“Alright, alright, I respect you. You’re my big brother,” Su Tian Que conceded with mock seriousness before adding, “but haven’t you noticed something… missing? A lot of little girls are staring at you.”
Fluffing out his newly feathered wings—no longer quite as bald—Su Tian Que glanced at Su Yi with an expression full of mischief and schadenfreude.
“Missing…?”
Su Yi followed Su Tian Que’s gaze and realized Shangguan Xi Wei and several other women stood at a distance, whispering among themselves and sneaking glances at him. Their behavior puzzled him, so he looked down to inspect himself.
“F—!”
Su Yi’s eyes widened in horror as he realized the truth: his clothes had been completely destroyed by the lightning. Shocked and embarrassed, he wished he could vanish into the nearest mountain peak. No wonder the female disciples from the Divine Demonic Sect had kept their distance!
“Wait a minute!”
Mortified, Su Yi quickly ducked behind Chi Zu and called out to Shangguan Yan, urgently requesting a set of clothes to cover himself.
