Chapter 300: Token!
Upon hearing the words, Elder Xiong Liu, Elder Shangguan Xu, and Elder Hu Bu locked their gazes on the Black Flying Lizard hovering low in the sky.
The three elders were well aware of Su Yi’s strength, and they knew it was impossible for him to be a match for the Black Flying Lizard.
“What, you think you can stop me? Ha! What a joke!”
Sensing the intentions of the three elders, the Black Flying Lizard dismissed them with contempt. Its body glimmered with black light as its massive wings flapped, and it dived toward Su Yi with a thunderous roar.
“How dare you!”
Elder Shangguan Xu roared, his body seeming to swell as an overwhelming aura surged from him. A shining sword materialized in his hands.
This was no ordinary weapon. Its power radiated across the battlefield, its brilliance and sharp edges slicing through the sky as it struck toward the Black Flying Lizard with awe-inspiring force.
“You dare challenge me with that?”
The Black Flying Lizard opened its mouth, and its scarlet tongue shot out like a lightning bolt, resembling a trident as it thrust directly at Elder Shangguan Xu’s sword.
“Clang!”
When the two forces collided, a terrifying energy burst forth. The sword’s light lingered for only a moment before it began to shatter. The Black Flying Lizard’s tongue, glowing like a blazing streak of fire, coiled around the elder’s sword and ripped it away with an immense force.
“Poof!”
Elder Shangguan Xu’s face contorted in pain. His eyes narrowed, and blood spurted from his mouth as his sword slipped from his grip. His body wavered unsteadily in the air, retreating several steps in the void.
“Be careful!”
Elders Xiong Liu and Hu Bu’s expressions darkened with alarm as they leapt into the fray.
Elder Hu Bu emanated an ancient and oppressive aura. With a single palm strike, a glowing tiger’s shadow roared to life, radiating intense light.
Meanwhile, Elder Xiong Liu unleashed an even more formidable force. A dazzling light erupted from his fists, resembling the descent of a meteor.
The two elders closed in from opposite sides, encircling the Black Flying Lizard in a coordinated assault.
“Hmph!”
The Black Flying Lizard let out a cold snarl, its wings spreading as a dark aura enveloped its glistening body. Like twin blades, its wings slashed through the air, cutting toward its attackers.
“Boom…”
The collision was earth-shattering. The energy unleashed by the clash seemed to tear the battlefield apart. A violent storm of power swept through the canyon, leaving the onlookers trembling in awe.
“Whoosh…”
Shattered stones and fragments of wood were flung into the air as the canyon trembled like it was caught in the throes of a tempest.
“The Yuan Void Realm and Demonic Void Realm are truly terrifying!”
The disciples of the Divine Demonic Sect murmured in admiration, their voices tinged with fear and awe.
“Pfft…”
Moments later, amidst the chaotic power storm, Elders Xiong Liu and Hu Bu staggered back, blood trickling from the corners of their mouths.
Su Yi’s gaze remained fixed on the void. He had discerned that the three elders had employed techniques like Demonic Spirit Truth Interpretation, Heavenly Tiger Art, and Mighty Desolate Verse during their assault.
These methods were known to possess unparalleled power, especially against demon beasts. However, the Black Flying Lizard’s strength far surpassed theirs, rendering the techniques less effective.
“There’s something lacking…”
Su Yi, having cultivated Mighty Desolate Verse, Demonic Spirit Truth Interpretation, and Heavenly Tiger Art himself, could sense a flaw. The elders’ versions of these techniques seemed incomplete compared to the true Mighty Desolate Verse. If perfected, their power would have been far greater.
“Little Blackbird, if I could regain my full strength, you wouldn’t even qualify to be my follower!”
Su Tian Que muttered disdainfully from the back of the Serene Void Brutal Heavenly Leopard. Yet, he made no move to join the fight, merely grumbling in displeasure.
“You overestimate yourself!”
The Black Flying Lizard soared past the three elders, then dived once more toward Su Yi, its dark presence growing ever more menacing.
“Be careful!”
The three elders cried out in unison, their voices filled with urgency.
“Slow!”
At that moment, Su Yi’s calm voice rang out. As the Black Flying Lizard descended toward him, instead of retreating, Su Yi reached into his robe and pulled something from his bosom.
This small object was particularly dazzling, emitting a blinding light.
It was a red mane, radiating an overwhelming beastly aura.
The Black Flying Lizard, its fierce eyes glaring, suddenly froze when it caught sight of the radiant red mane in Su Yi’s hand. Its massive body immediately halted in midair, balancing itself as it plummeted downward.
In an instant, its enormous figure loomed right in front of Su Yi. Its fierce eyes, almost as large as Su Yi himself, exuded an overwhelming intimidation. With an expression of surprise and astonishment, it demanded, “Kid, where did you get this thing?!”
A powerful, oppressive aura swept over Su Yi like a raging storm. The wild and ferocious energy nearly knocked him off his feet. His internal Yuan Qi surged in response, stabilizing him as streams of Yuan Qi flowed from the soles of his feet.
“What’s happening?”
Elder Shangguan Xu’s expression turned grim. He was utterly baffled by the scene unfolding before him.
The disciples of the Divine Demonic Sect were equally stunned, their hearts pounding in their chests.
“That’s…”
Shangguan Yan and Shangguan Xi Wei’s gazes locked on the object in Su Yi’s hand. Recognizing it instantly, they realized it was the mane of the Cold Waves Golden-Red Beast—the very young beast Su Yi had saved earlier.
“I was right!”
Seeing the Black Flying Lizard recoil before him, Su Yi exhaled in relief.
It seemed he had gambled correctly. If not for this, with his current strength, he would have stood no chance against the Black Flying Lizard.
“This is a gift from Chi Zu. It told me that if I encountered any trouble here, I should present this, and no one would dare harm me!”
Su Yi’s tone was calm yet probing as he addressed the Black Flying Lizard, his eyes fixed on its massive form.
Indeed, this mane was the very token given to him by the Cold Waves Golden-Red Beast, Chi Zu, not long ago. Su Yi’s gamble rested on whether this object could truly intimidate the Black Flying Lizard.
Although Chi Zu was only a demon beast in the Demonic Spirit Realm, its bloodline was far superior to that of the Black Flying Lizard. Su Yi speculated that Chi Zu likely had powerful backing, capable of striking fear into even formidable creatures like the Black Flying Lizard.
The parting words of Chi Zu had hinted at its significant status in the area, and Su Yi was counting on that now.
“Chi Zu?!”
The moment Su Yi mentioned the name, the Black Flying Lizard’s expression shifted dramatically.
“What is your relationship with Chi Zu?”
The fierce light in its eyes wavered, now replaced with a mix of wariness and apprehension. Its gaze bore into Su Yi, trying to discern the truth.
“Friend!” Su Yi replied firmly.
From the Black Flying Lizard’s reaction, it was clear the token carried considerable weight. It seemed Chi Zu held a remarkably high status in the region.
“You’re lying! How could Lord Chi Zu befriend a human like you?!”
The Black Flying Lizard’s tone was filled with suspicion. Its gaze remained fixed on Su Yi, disbelief written all over its face. It was inconceivable that the revered Lord Chi Zu would form an alliance with a mere human.
